Ta Da!!!
New ta da thread!
What have you accomplished or done for yourself today? I finally went to the doctor for the earache I have had for 4 days :( Got some prescriptions drops -hope they work. I also got some last minute stuff to do at work and decided that I WAS NOT staying late to do it and I didn't feel the least bit guilty about it - it can get done tomorrow morning! :D |
I finally felt good enough to get my house cleen.
I got some stuff so that I can make some GREAT gift packages for my business. I finally go to the doc again tomorrow to see what they can do to make me stop cough! |
I finally finished one of the 3 million books I read at a time. My DH has started to make fun of me saying I leave all books unfinished because I believe only then they will go on forever.
I did my 20 min HIIT today and I crossed the 1.0 mile at 13:38! WOOOOOOHOOOOO! Feel better Mauvis and Bella! Miss Chris |
Congrats Mauvais, Bella & Chris! :cp:
Working on some Ta-Das for tomorrow especially writing all of the emails I want to. :) |
Ta Da! I finally threw the last of those frassing pears into the compost bucket and put away the preserving kettles. We will BUY canned pears if we need them. Now I just need to get rid of the fruit flies in the kitchen. I'll put out a bowl of beer.
|
Don't put it on the floor.
|
......and don't put it out in a glass. And don't accidently lift it to your lips and quaff that thirst quenching elixir of.....OOPS!!!
|
I ordered the goodies I need to make tofu using the milk from my new soymilk machine....
*happy little dancie* Peace and soybeans, ~VOW |
Ruth - Does a bowl of beer work??? I never heard that... of course... to waste the beer, I'm not sure I could bring myself to do it. Anyone know how to get rid of regular flies? Besides a flyswatter!
Miss Chris - Wow!!! A mile in 13.38! I'm impressed! Congrats! My ta-da is kinda weird. Yesterday, at 3PM, I was starving. I chewed like 20 pieces of yum to stop from putting something in my mouth. I surfed the internet. I tried everything to stop from eating. I just wasn't even thinking straight. I had my lunch already so I felt guilty about being hungry! Well, finally, I lost it and made myself a peanut butter and ice cream sundae from the crap at work and ate the whole thing. Once I ate it, I felt stupid because for lunch I brought a Boca Burger and a cup of soup and all I ate was the cup of soup. NO WONDER I WAS HUNGRY!!! DUH! Had I just eaten the rest of my lunch, I would have been fine. Anyway, fast forward to today. I'm applying the knowledge I learned to today's cravings. At breakfast (I eat at the university) I wanted to splurge and get a huge danish but instead I ate what I was planning on eating and I didn't crave the danish afterwards. Ta Da! I'm actually thinking. |
To Jessica:
EXCELLENT Ta-Da for Today! I get some incredible whiffs of dead animal when I am preparing meals for the family carnivores, and I think, "Hmmmm, maybe just a taste?" Or someone at work will bring in Pollo Loco, and I'll CRAVE it! But if I simply EAT what I know I can have, the desire for "a taste" is .... gone. I'm serious, I don't miss meat as much as I thought I would. Peace and preparation! ~VOW |
excellent ta-da jessica!
mine is similiar. i fell down and sprained my arm and immediately my brain went to chocolate to feel better. no chocolate, no nothing. i have to break the cycle of feeling bad and turning to food. i don't have to take the first bite. miss chris |
I wish I would have had your ta-da jessica and miss chris! I got not so great news from the doc today and had a small bag of sweedish fish, a milkyway midnight, and a peanutbutter egg. Not so good. But I really didn't eat much else today so o'well.
Nothing good to report today, lol. Hopefully I'll have a ta-da tomorrow. |
This summer I finally found a way to get rid of fruit flies, Ruth. Take a jar (preserve jar in your case?), put some white vinegar in the bottom, maybe half a cup. Add a few drops of liquid dish detergent. Cover the top of the jar with plastic wrap, secure with an elastic. Poke several small holes in the plastic wrap, and leave on your kitchen counter. The smell will attract the flies, they'll dive in, and the soap will coat them so they can't fly back out. They'll drown! :cp: And you can drink the beer!
I didn't think it would work when it was suggested to me earlier in the summer, but it did! |
To catch regular flies...I know how to get rid of the tired summer flies that sleep on the ceiling, but that is all. You can put some water and Joy lemon dish detergent in a cup, and walk around and hold it under them, and they just fall right in. The only thing is that they kinda have to be the lazy kind, or they'd take off when you got near them. And you have to have a relatively low ceiling to get your glass up there a foot away or so....so maybe that isn't such handy advice after all!
My Ta-Da, I walked 3 miles a day for 5x a week for the month of October and I feel great! I don't know what has gotten into me! |
Jen, you're killin' me with your fly advice.
|
Ta-da! I have managed to remember to take my multivitamin and my vitamin c tablets 4-days in a row! This is a huge accomplishent for me since I tend to take them sporadically if at all.
Sorry to hear you got bad news Bella :( |
Hope you are doing okay Bella.

Enjoying this thread today girls. Ellis, I think that Jen just wants us to walk around our houses looking like fools!
And Jen...wow, you go girl, I love that walking...i walked a bit today, overslept, forgot to set alarm so had to drive the kid to school. Walked into school and around the school library as today was book fair day...bought the new Harry Potter book for DP for a holiday gift...that was my weight lifting... then walked out to the parking lot to my car and drove home...that was honestly the most walking I've done since my surgery but, it actually felt good! and I did feel like I was doing something... Jessica...I can totally relate...that's why I try to keep wonderful snacks in my desk at work...tho if someone has brought in nasty goodies sometimes the stuff in my desk doesn't cut it...but, now, with my "I'm high on good health and I have brand new knockers"....sorry Moderator Mauv...know I'm walkin the fine line...but, at least I didn't use the "t" word...it feels so much better to eat my healthy snackies. I feel so in control at times like that... anyway, hmm, so aside from walking a bit my ta-da is that I finished one of my knitting projects...as Ro is to books, Soozie is to projects...I have so many going and it is nice to complete one...had already completed a baby blanket and I wrote the note to go along with it, found a big mail bag in the recyclables and I'm even planning to get that out to the post office tomorrow...and, the baby hasn't even been born yet....! Wow! that's even blowin my own mind... the one baby quilt that I ever made I started for my friend who was pregnant and I finished it for my daughter...it was done a month or so after my daughter was born in 1997....I bought the material and started it in 1989... love,Sooze |
Soozie - I wanna learn to knit!! My great grandmother used to make these HUGE blankets that I loved to curl up on the couch and watch tv under. Sigh. I also want a new pair of knockers :) Are you so thrilled?
|
way to go soozie, i have a nice scarf in my bedroom want to go 4 that next?
miss chris |
Jessica...yeah, it's really amazing...I never had boobs like this...well, maybe for three months when i was in High School, ninth grade...I went from nothing to "C"s as far as I can remember and they only stood up for a little while and then they began their journey down towards the belly...so even in my twenties they were big and well, the word the doctor uses, which is descriptive even if it is unflattering is....pendulous...yes, I had a pendulous bosom from a young age...
So these standing up on my chest wall babies are really nice to have around, can't wait till they are totally healed. I never went braless...unless you do count third grade and now I'll be able to...I feel like a....like a....well, a GODDESS! and Ro...okay, ship it over to me however, only if you're using big needles and only if there aren't any complicated stitching patterns...I don't like to keep counting and I don't know how to follow written instructions... talk to you soon girlies. love, Soozie |
No ta-das. I ate a 2x2 inch square of peach cobbler at work today. I made it for a covered dish party, but needed to wash the pan to bring home, and I just scooped up that last bite and sucked it down like an oyster. Crap! I was on Day 13 of perfect eating. I've wanted more ever since I ate it!
I did walk 3 miles again, so I guess I can say Ta.... Soozie, you got new boobies!!?? Congratulations and Breast Wishes for a speedy recovery! Oh PS! I found the boob thread. I totally missed that when I was offline! |
another book is completed! i need to look around my house and make sure there are no more half done books, oh crap i just remembered one. no new books until theses are done!
miss chris |
Oh yeah, I didn't think about books. I've finished 2 in the last 2 months, and that is more than in the last two years! They weren't engrossing novels though. It was the South Beach Diet book, and a tightwadding book, aka by my husband as The Cheap ******* Handbook. Right now I am reading a book about writing a book. Inspiring!
|
I changed everyone's bedding yesterday. :D All at once. Usually I get tired/bored after about a bed and a half...
|
good one ellis.
well i did find about 4 more books half read last night. today though i am studying for wwt and starting my recovery journal. its more tiring than it sounds.......... WE START OUR RECOVERY BY WRITING THE HISTORY OF OUR ADDICTIONS i can remeber being 3 and eating more pancakes than my father oh vey! miss chris |
I scrubbed down my shower/bath and cleaned out the cabinet under the bathroom sink. I tossed out 2 grocery bags full of odds and ends, bottles of face cream, shampoo etc. that had only the dregs left-why the #@$% was I keeping this stuff?????
|
I went through my closet and my husband's closet, filling FOUR TRASH BAGS with serviceable discards, to donate to the fire victims in our area.
God has spared us, and we should share what we have with those who have lost everything. Peace and prayers for the insanity to stop, ~VOW |
charity is awesome vow!
1 Day of abstinence from sugar down, a lifetime to go ;-) Chris |
No sugar at all?
