Ta-Da Sept 14+

Ok, I am bringing this thread back.

I have managed to clean my kitchen floor twice. It was that bad. It has been a few months since I mopped. :o Also cleaned of the table, got rid of flowers that have been dead for weeks.

Did laundry and put ALL of my clothes away, including the clothes that have just gotten moved around my room for a few weeks.

Started cleaning out my closet. Got rid of 3 grocery bags worth of shoes. I think I had every pair of Chucks I ever owned. I found 3 black pairs, 1 blue, 1 marroon & 1 white, and one pair of checkered high tops.

Also started organizing my (small) bag full of recipies I have torn out of magazines.

Also walked around the corner to get milk, bread & my Sunday paper.

None of that my be exercise, in the traditional sense, but I think all this counts.

mauvaisroux 09-14-2003 09:43 PM

Way to go Squeaker :cp: And housework does count as exercise! :)

My ta-da was that I got off my duff and went grocery shopping, stuck to what was on the list and said no to DH when he suggested we eat out. I was tired, hungry and stressed out from crowded stores and I knew if we went to a restaurant I would make bad choices. So we went home and had a lovely julienne salad with fresh veggies, cheese and deli meat and I feel better for eating that instead of the chinese food he wanted to go for :D

Jennifer 3FC 09-15-2003 12:31 AM

Oooh Oooh, just my kind of thread! I finally ta-da'd today for the first time in a longggg time. I did ALL the dishes, I paid all of our bills, balanced the checkbook, and cleaned off at least half of my desk. I wrapped up all of my correspondence with my son's school, and I dumped a load of boxes in the trash that has been in my living room.

Mauvais, I need to do your ta-das and stay home instead of the restaurants...tonight we went to Outback. I stayed on plan but it cost a small fortune for the 3 of us! When I balanced my checkbook, I realized we still spend WAY too much on going out.

ellis 09-15-2003 07:24 AM

I'm going to do some ta-das and report back.
Congratulations, girls!

sflake 09-15-2003 07:51 AM

yay squeak, thats what I need, some ta das. I'll look around and get back to ya.

mauvaisroux 09-16-2003 12:43 PM

Ta-da! I went to Tim Horton's last night with my friend and resisted the urge to have a doughnut! I went home and ate celery with low-fat cheese instead! :cb:

sflake 09-16-2003 12:44 PM

Still looking for one.....

ellis 09-16-2003 06:35 PM

Oh ****. Still no ta-das. bump.

sflake 09-17-2003 11:04 AM

yay :D I have a Ta Da...I just finished a mountain of paper work from last month!

mauvaisroux 09-17-2003 12:02 PM

Ta-da!

I went for a walk after dinner last night and then came home did the dishes, made OP lunches for today, tidied the kitchen and set the coffee pot up for the morning and pre-programmed it! Woo hoo - feeling organized! :cb:

Also it made me too busy to think about a late night snack :D

Ruthxxx 09-17-2003 04:26 PM

Ta-da! I fixed the remote for the satellite! Some ******* had put the batteries in the wrong way!
I'm going to get back to setting up the coffee the night before too. Thanks for the reminder, Mauvais.

ellis 09-17-2003 05:35 PM

Ruth, you mechanical wizard, you.

Gee, I like the coffee idea, Mauvais. Funny... I just had the idea today to make dinner the night before. I've got a pot roast in the crock pot right now for tomorrow night's dinner. And I've cut up the sweet potatoes, and they're marinating in a tupperware container. I wonder if I can make those "mashed potatoes" (cauliflower) ahead of time. I HATE making dinner, but if I can do it when everyone is home the previous night, I won't feel so damned *itchy the next day.

Sflake, congrats on the paperwork!!

squeaker 09-18-2003 07:43 AM

Congrats on the Ta-Das Sflake, Mauvais, Ellis, Ruthxxx & Jennifer! :cb:

mauvaisroux 09-18-2003 12:18 PM

You are welcome Ruthxxx! :D

Ellis I sometimes cook two meals at once so I don't have to cook the next evening. Ie: cook extra veg, potatoes, rice or chop up extra salad so the next day I just have to bake the chicken or whatever and then I save on prep time :chef:

Thanks Squeaker! :)

sflake 09-18-2003 01:42 PM

Ta-Da!
I cleaned out the fridge last night, my least favorite job.
Thanks Squeak. Ellis, Ruth, Mauvais gosh I wish I was as organized as y'all are. I can barely make 1 dinner a day. Way to plan ahead chickies.:)

Ruthxxx 09-18-2003 01:54 PM

Hey, sflake. Make two and freeze one! I just made two meatloaves - one for tonight and one for another night. It really is not double the work! Go for it!

ellis 09-18-2003 02:08 PM

Please post your recipes. :D

ellis 09-18-2003 02:09 PM

And mail me meatloaf.

sflake 09-18-2003 02:15 PM

Stoopid question, but do you cook it before you freeze it? or do you just mix it and freeze it to cook later. Or does it depend on what it is your making?

Ruthxxx 09-18-2003 02:21 PM

Depends! I freeze the meatloaf and a few other dishes uncooked but might cook two chickens and freeze one for chicken salad later. I always make chili and spaghetti sauce in double batches, cook and freeze.

sflake 09-18-2003 02:25 PM

Thanks Ruth, I'm gonna try it :D

mauvaisroux 09-21-2003 04:08 PM

Yay! I have managed to eat out twice this weekend and stay OP! Whooohoo! :dancer:

Ruthxxx 09-21-2003 05:35 PM

Ta-Da! I cleaned out the odds and ends in the freezer and made some lovely brown beef stock to freeze! I feel so thrifty!

squeaker 09-21-2003 09:10 PM

Congrats on the TaDas Mauvais & Ruth. :)

Managed to hang up a few pictures that have been sitting on my floor for months. Painted a few ceramic pieces. Did some laundry, including putting it away. Also ordered the first round of my digital pictures. I haven't ordered any since Jan., but have taken a few hundred since then. :p

Aquareggie 09-24-2003 12:44 PM

Yay Squeaker! :)

Ta-da... I did a load of laundry and hung my clothes up in the closet right away. :D

Tried on my wedding band... it pretty much fits again. :D

ellis 09-24-2003 12:52 PM

Aqua, good for you!
Squeak, you too with the laundry!?
I did the same yesterday! Is there something wrong with the three of us? :D

mauvaisroux 09-24-2003 07:15 PM

Someone can come over and do my laundry please :^:

Jennifer 3FC 09-24-2003 11:21 PM

I was just getting ready to ask the same thing! We just had to REwash 4 baskets, because they didn't smell good. We bought new detergent, and YUCK. Smelled worse than it did before we washed the stuff! Bought the old kind again and it all got washed over. So, want to have a slumber party at my place and help me clean house?

sunseeker_ak 09-25-2003 02:36 PM

Ta...da, I cleaned out my truck, washed it, did 3 loads of laundry, and started on my bathroom- but still have an amazingly long list to tackle! School starts on monday so I'm trying to get some what orginized before the chaos begins! Yeah, I am actually excited for classes to start....wierd, what's wrong with me?!?!??!

sflake 09-26-2003 08:02 AM

Ta-Da!

I paid a bunch of overdue bills and got my desk organized :)

Lesbia 09-26-2003 09:53 AM

Ta-Da! I found a health site for low-sugar weightloss and started lurking! Guess which one! ;)

:waves:

Lesbia

Ruthxxx 09-26-2003 10:02 AM

TA-Da! I tooik both cars in to the dealer for servicing. Not at the same time, of course! Now we are all set for winter.
Hmmmm - need to order wood and turn off the outside water soon.

mauvaisroux 09-26-2003 10:30 AM

Way to go on the ta-da's everyone :cp:

Ta-freakin'-da! I finally got off my duff and posted my entry in the book club forum last night - I was a good girl and read my chapter and did my homework assignment :D ( I am usually a terrible procrastinator and wait to the last minute  )

sflake 09-26-2003 05:55 PM

Ta-Da! I figured out how to put in a custom avatar :D I kept reading messages with the fat orange cat and thought to myself I don't remember saying that, am I losing my mind? :stress: And speaking of avatars I thought Ellis was a little old man when I first started posting here :D hehehe

:bravo: Mauvais! and Ruth (you can come get my 2 cars anytime)

ellis 09-26-2003 06:36 PM

EXCUSE ME, that was NOT a little old man! That was Timothy Findley, my favourite (now dead, sob) author!

Sflake, I love your avatar...

sflake 09-26-2003 06:50 PM

I will have to check him out. I'm always looking for something new to read. Do you reccommend anything of his in particular?

ellis 09-26-2003 06:52 PM

The Piano Man's Daughter. Or, The Wars. Or, You Went Away.
You'll either love him or hate him, Sflake. He's Canadian. :D

sflake 09-26-2003 06:58 PM

Thanks and I never met a Canadian I didn't like

ellis 09-26-2003 07:01 PM

That's because you haven't met ME, darling.

sflake 09-26-2003 07:08 PM

Ahh, but I like you already so thats a plus  Actually I've only ever met 1 Canadian so there is not a lot to draw from

Gotta run have a great weekend :D
