Lidian... don't eat that toast! Stick to your list of allowed foods!!

dentrassi 06-05-2003 11:31 PM

Ellis-I was just teasing. But YES PLEASE!!! COMMENT ON MY WOMANLY FIGURE!!! (SOMEONE needs to do it and Dh is preoccupied lately!!!)

Lidian-THIS is where sci fi is useful. I want an anti-grav device implanted !!!

Mauvais-If my cell phone was on vibrate I sure as **** wouldn't put it under my boobs....WHAT A WASTE!!!

Squeak-Can you imagine the looks if it starts vibrating where I am NOW thinking of putting it? I wouldn't answer it though...WHAT A WASTE!!!

Jessica-BUMMER!! BOOBS! Just can't keep 'em down!!!

dentrassi 06-05-2003 11:33 PM

Oops!! Forgot to say: DH says the interview went well. He found out that they interviewed 3 people for the 2 open positions, so that is pretty good. Thanks for all the support (pun intended) DH appreciates it and so do I.
xxoo

Ruthxxx 06-06-2003 07:14 AM

Wow! So your DH has a 2 in 3 chance of hitting the jackpot. Great odds! I still have my boobs crossed for him.

ellis 06-06-2003 07:32 AM

Oh geez, Den. I'm so nervous for you. Let's assume that DH didn't get it and forget all about it. Then if he DOES get it, it'll be like winning the lottery. Or having some old rich relative die that you didn't even know who left you a fortune. (gee, that would be better than a job!)
Continued hugs and prayers...
:grouphug:

And that is very RUDE re: putting the cell phone somewhere else!

I just thought of an invention. A bra with a sort of suction effect on the top part of your breasts. If we'd been wearing something like that since our teens, gravity would have had no effect!
(well, as it's too late for us, let's not bother inventing it)

squeaker 06-06-2003 08:42 AM

Ok, ok Ellis, so you can't rest a box on them. Trust me it works.

Den - I will continue to keep my fingers (but not my boobs) crossed for DH. And I thought the idea of sticking the phone somewhere else was amusing.

 Hi to the rest of the Chickies!!!

mauvaisroux 06-06-2003 09:17 AM

Ah, yes, but imagine the looks you would get from other people if you were out shopping somewhere and your boobs stated spontaneously vibrating-

ellis 06-06-2003 10:19 AM

I'm on my way to the new psychologist with DD to see if she needs meds...

Lidian 06-06-2003 12:29 PM

Hugs to you both Ellis - hope everything goes OK. Please let us know - love, Lidian

ellis 06-06-2003 01:29 PM

Thank you sweet Lidian... it went really well. Sounds like she may need them, but we have to have a family/family physician meeting first...

Lidian 06-06-2003 01:35 PM

Glad it went well. One step at a time...Thanks for letting us know. :grouphug: :df:

Lidian

mauvaisroux 06-06-2003 03:28 PM

Glad to hear that the meeting went well :)

squeaker 06-06-2003 09:03 PM

:grouphug: lots of hugs to Ellis & DD. I am glad the meeting went well.

dentrassi 06-06-2003 11:00 PM

Ellis-I wish you all the best in making that decision sweetie. Deciding to put your kids on meds is not easy, but it is necessary sometimes. Our DS (younger) has been helped a lot by them, as you know. It just about ripped me apart having to put him on them even though I know how much they have helped me. But they really have helped him. This is just such a rough age for them ANYWAY, and when they are dealing with depression or anxiety on top of it, it can really be bad. I'm thinking of you all and sending you all lots of love. Your DD is a great kid, and you and DH are great parents. I KNOW everything will be okay, even if it feels difficult now. (Doesn't it seem like the good, kind-hearted kids suffer the most?)

My DH was sick a few weeks back, and still had a small cough lingering, so I finally made him go to the doctor today. He was running a fever and the doctor says he has bronchitis!! Didn't see THAT coming!! His lungs are really long, and he has a tendency to get bronchitis and pneumonia because of it. He can't get his lungs cleared out well enough when he is sick. When they x-ray his lungs they need two sheets to get it all!!! (Kinda like my boobs when I get a mammogram... OKAY, I HAD to work them in SOMEHOW!!!)

ellis 06-07-2003 07:31 AM

Thank you Lidian, Mauvais and Squeak. :)
:grouphug: You are all such dears...
So often I find that I tell you girls my troubles and victories before I've even told my "real-life friends". :) You are very special to me. (Ruth, where the **** are you? snicker)

Den, shall I ignore you again? ;)
Thank you for your support, sweetie.
I know how much you've been through with your DS... you've had such a trial.
You've said it all...
This is just the worst age for them, and if we can get her through this stage, things should go a LITTLE more smoothly for her in the future.
Yeah... the good, kind-hearted ones suffer the most. Look at US!! :D

I'm so sorry about your DH, but glad they found out what's wrong. He'll soon get better with medication. (long lungs and long boobs, huh? Sort of makes me feel all queasy inside. )

:grouphug:

Ruthxxx 06-07-2003 07:47 AM

Hey, Den - quit bragging! A 42 LONG!

Ellis, I am sure the meds will help Miss M but the best thing she has going for her is two loving parents!

Shitty looking morning but it's not raining so I am off to the garden. I'm not singing Hi-Ho like Miss Chris - just going to DO it!

ellis 06-07-2003 07:52 AM

Thank you my sweet Ruth. ;) I have just written in your journal, and am off with my friend Jim to shop for more plants. (never have enough)
Have fun in your garden!!
:grouphug:

mauvaisroux 06-07-2003 08:35 AM

Good Morning everyone

I got a bathing suit last night! :D I was trying to stay away from basic black but oh well

It is a racing type one-piece suit that is black but there are three triangular shaped accents in silver and bronze that run across the stomache area in sort of a geometric -modern looking pattern.

It actually makes my hips look thinner and fits well in the butt -yay:cb:

Trying on all those suits made me want to focus my exercise efforts on my butt and thigh areas though - gotta win the lottery so I can afford some lipo!

Lidian 06-07-2003 12:44 PM

Ellis, your DD is so lucky that she has such wonderful & caring parents - that is the foundation of it all.

Den, thank goodness your DH finally went to the Dr...Hope he is feeling better very soon. Funny how guys don't really think of going...maybe it is related to not liking to ask directions in the car.

Mauvais, that bathing suit sounds great. Racing backs are essential for me - I need total peace of mind that everything is going to stay in and up (as much as is possible!). And as much Lycra as they can give me!

Lidian

dentrassi 06-08-2003 12:15 AM

Ruth-WOW!! I'm impressed!! I'm just a 40 long!!!!

Lidian-YUP!! I had to REMIND him that he has been complaining of feeling dizzy lately too!! I made him write it all down so he'd tell the doctor everything. Sounds strange, but he is EXACTLY like the stereotype of the absent minded professor. BRILLIANT, but he'd forget to eat if I didn't make him!!! (Which can be ANNOYING, let me tell you!!!)

Mauvais-WOW!! You are SO brave. I haven't owned a suit in years, and I'm too chicken to go shopping for one.

Ellis-Too much "excitement" lately. I hope that for the summer you can just putter around the garden and enjoy yourself!!!

ellis 06-08-2003 07:01 AM

Mauvais, if black looks good, then WEAR IT!! It sounds perfect! Lipo, huh? I've got a couple of bucks I can chip in. We'll start a fund for you, hon. :D

Thank you sweet Lidian. :grouphug:

Den, my Dad is like your DH. :) Mom has to write things down for the doctor when he goes in. Either that or she goes in with/after him and "has a chat" with the doctor to make sure everything's been covered!

I got some great plants yesterday. Jim and I went to Richie's Feed and Seed. Mauvais/Ruth, have you been there? Wow, they have just about everything! Including some kitchy little things at half price in the gift section that I picked up for Christmas gifts. (you watch, girls... this Christmas I'm going to be ORGANIZED!! :D )
They still had a good selection of tomato plants, so I was able to replace mine that were eaten by the birds. (devious... they managed to get through the chicken wire protection and pull them up.)
And I got some sphagnum moss to line my wire baskets. Did the "Martha thing", and they look very good.
Got a few cool perennials that I did NOT need, and a bunch more annuals to brighten things up.

Ruthxxx 06-08-2003 08:34 AM

I'm skipping Church this morning and will go straight to ****. Dammit - I think they make you go nekkid there! At least in Heaven the robes can conceal a lot of blubber. I never saw a skinny angel except in El Greco paintings.

Here's a pic of the blooms on my peony tree.

http://ca.geocities.com/ruthxxx/peonytree.html

Now I'm off to the garden.

Lidian 06-08-2003 09:42 AM

Looks gorgeous, Ruth!

DH and the girls garden, I don't -- I watch and admire. They have fixed up the front garden very nicely and the back is lovely. Lots of trees. My fave is a nice little Japanese maple that we put in last year. Our back porch is another story though - it is pretty miserably old and needs fixing up, but I love it.

Lidian

ellis 06-09-2003 07:16 AM

Ruth, how beautiful! Thank you! You lucky dog, you. :D
I really wish I'd brought our peonies with us... maybe I'd better buy one or two for the backyard. I'm tired of people saying, "It's very GREEN back here!"

The heck with church. On sunny days, God is in your garden, not in church. :)

Your porch sounds like my entire house, Lidian.

mauvaisroux 06-09-2003 09:16 AM

Thanks Ellis :D

Your flowers look gorgeous Ruthxxx!

DH and I went to the market to buy vegetables and fruit for the week and ended up buying 4 hanging flower baskets :)

2 are big bushy greens mixed in with tiny white flowers that trail down and the other 2 are bloodred snapdragons. We spent the aftenoon tidying up the balcony, hanging up the baskets and flower boxes on the railings and putting up mosquito netting around the swing so that I am safe from wasps. The balcony is starting to look pretty good.

Next week we are buying some soil and then going to the market to pick up some herbs for planting in the window boxes :D

mauvaisroux 06-12-2003 03:52 PM

 I've got to dig out my patent gothic mary jane shoes and my patent leather devil head purse and get all glammed up tonight- I'm going to see the Ozzy Osbourne concert! :dancer:

I will let you all know how it was tomorrow :D

squeaker 06-12-2003 04:14 PM

I am so jealous!!!! I'm going to go see Kim Mitchell, if it doesn't pour. I'd rather be with you Mauvais!

Ruthxxx 06-12-2003 04:18 PM

Ummmmmm - I might go down street and watch the water pour over the dam. Too bad we don't have a traffic light.

ellis 06-12-2003 04:30 PM

Ozzy and Kim, huh? :)

I'm going to my 7-year old's baseball game tonight. Should be as big a thrill as yours, Ruth. Mosquito repellent, good social skills (ha!), blanket, concentration...

That girl at the top with the heart/tummy makes me sick. Looks like bread dough.

Bagzz 06-12-2003 05:25 PM

i just had to agree with Ellis---- i have been getting that "heart tummy" on my yahoo mail for months and it REALLY bugs me for some reason===i always scroll down so i don't have to see it------WONDER WHY IT IS SO ANNOYING???????--- sorry for interrupting your group, but sometimes i come over here for a laugh---you guys are lots of fun!!!-------i post over at Cows R Us.

ellis 06-12-2003 06:20 PM

Bagzz, you come here ANYTIME!!
:grouphug:

Maybe if it was a man I wouldn't mind so much...

Wildfire 06-12-2003 06:34 PM

Let's eviscerate the tummy. *hehehe*

mauvais, I'm interested in hearing about the concert. I can't imagine seeing Ozzy now....he's gotten so old...would be kind of like watching Bob Hope swing dance....

Those are some mighty big blooms you've got there Ruth. :D

ellis, hope it doesn't rain on your ball game!

Bagzz 06-12-2003 09:03 PM

thanks Ellis!!!!!!!!! Wildfire { i used to loooove that song}--- maybe we could get someone to post with a nice round gut that has a few stretch marks and scars and maybe some cellulite----heck,I'll even volunteer!!!---------Regarding the tree peony blossoms!!!!!-----amazing!!!---i have two of those bushes with not ONE blossom on them----------must be the freezing cold Atlantic Ocean Breeze!!!

Wildfire 06-12-2003 09:19 PM

ATLANTIC BREEZES???? Where are you from, Baggz? I'm a transplanted Cape Bretoner. Hmmmm...Cows R Us...are you on PEI? Yeah, let's post a picture of a belly that needs to be changed, not a perfectly flat, stretchmark free one!

ellis 06-13-2003 07:16 AM

Thanks Wildfire... :)

Hey... Gregory Peck died...
Wasn't he just the PERFECT Atticus?

There's a very nice Obit in the NYTs...

Ruthxxx 06-13-2003 07:34 AM

Damn! Another good man off my Third Husband List! That leaves Prince Phil and Bruce Springsteen and the local lush!

ellis 06-13-2003 07:39 AM

Huh. I thought my Father was on your list!

Ruthxxx 06-13-2003 07:56 AM

Damn it! I forgot that. How is your Mother's health these days?

Wanttolosealot 06-13-2003 08:16 AM

Ruth
You peony is gorgeous! YOu are so lucky.
Hey girls
hope everyone is having a good day so far. Nice and sunny here, but I am sure that will change any time. Weather for the weekend sounds yucky. Oh well, I will enjoy today.
Virginia

ellis 06-13-2003 08:39 AM

She's just FINE, thank you very much!
