Glad everything went well Ellis! :grouphug:

Speaking of dads....my poor dad got his finger slammed in the van door today and hurt his index finger so badly that he had to get 7 stiches! :yikes: He put some bandaids on his finger and drove to his doctor's office, which was closer than the hospital, and they stiched him up. Poor Dad- I felt so awful for him and his biggest worry was that he got blood on the carpet of the van  what a man!

dentrassi 05-01-2003 08:25 PM

Ellis-Glad to hear that your Dad is okay, WHAT A RELIEF!!!!!

Mauvais-Sorry to hear about YOUR Dad. Driving with a bleeding finger is SO much fun!!! (Been there done that!!!) That must have really HURT!!!!!

ellis 05-01-2003 09:01 PM

Thank you Squeak, Mauvais, and Den!
Mauvais, your poor dear Dad!! What a nightmare! I hope he's got something for the pain tonight...
Den, wasn't that a bleeding TOE!?!?

dentrassi 05-02-2003 12:04 AM

THAT was the most recent injury. (It has mostly grown back in too!!!) When I cooked at my kids' school I sliced my thumb along with the oranges. (HEY! blood oranges are "gourmet" food!!!) I had to drive myself to the clinic to get the flap sewn back on. But a knife cut is clean, it doesn't hurt the way slamming it in a door does!! (I've done THAT too!!!) Actually, the worst WAS getting that toe nail ripped off......

Ruthxxx 05-02-2003 08:00 AM

Thanks for sharing, Den. Now that I've hurled my breakfast, I'll just get on with my day! :D
It's frassing raining so I won't get any gardening done today. I have a medical appointment and a haircut appointment today which kind of screws the day anyhow. Good news is that we are going out to a farewell dinner party tonight. Um....not good news that these friends are moving but good news that I don't have to cook.
My mind is scrambled this morning.
Have an excellent Friday!

dentrassi 05-02-2003 01:36 PM

Ruth-YOU'RE WELCOME!!!!! Glad to hear that you don't have to cook! It seems like you are usually stuck doing that!!!

HEY! For some reason I woke up in a REALLY good mood this morning!!! Hope it lasts, and hope that all of you have a great Friday!!!

Oh Ellis, I am so glad everything is okay for now anyway. Prayer works! You take care and get some rest yourself. You can not look out for your dad, if you are not well yourself.
Love and hugs to all!
Virginia

Thank you, sweet Virginia. :)

Ellis I am very glad to hear things sound good. It is scary to think something is wrong with a parent whether you love them or not (sounds weird, but I have no relationship with my father and it hurts me terribly that he is sick). So I will keep my fingers crossed until the second specialist gives him the all clear.

Well I finished my group presentation yesterday, now I only have a critical care final and a community final and I will be finished with college.... I always thought I would go back for my masters but at this point not at gunpoint.

Amy

Thank you, Amy. I'm sorry about your relationship with your Dad. Father/daughter relationships can be messy. For that matter, so can Mother/daughter.

Good luck with your finals!!

Lidian 05-03-2003 08:34 PM

Ellis, I'm so glad your dad is OK. And Amy, I am thinking about you too - my dad is getting a bit frail and I worry about him - though our relationship is pretty difficult (HE is pretty difficult as a person & it is stressful for me to keep up my end of things since my mom passed away)...and good luck on your finals.

Mauvais, hope your dad is feeling better - and you too, Den!

Lidian

Thank you, Lidian. :) You've mentioned your Dad before... I'm sorry you have a difficult relationship with him. I used to have a stressful relationship with my Dad, too. Until I realized that it was my Mom that was actually causing the stress. ;) We all need analyzing. :D

Amyjo01 05-04-2003 01:59 AM

I just wanted to say... I love you guys. You are all just genuinely wonderful people and I appreciate knowing you all.

ellis 05-04-2003 06:01 AM

Ditto, Amy!! :grouphug:

This is petty, but I am SICK AND TIRED of seeing that girl's bellybutton in that ad at the top of the page. It's just too damned coy for me. blah.

My hubby and I took Pam and her daughter to Halifax to the French speaking competition. She won here in our hometown, and advanced to Halifax, where yesterday , we are very proud to say took 1st in all of Nova Scotia and now goes on to Toronto in June. She is a great kid most of the time but tends to give her mom a hard time sometimes, a very hard time. Anyway, she advanced and we are very proud of her. She graduates this year and has a lot on her plate right now, but is strong like her moma, and beautiful like her too. Anyway, I must go for now, just wanted to let otherws know I am alive and for the most part doing okay. I certainly have my moments, sometimes more than I care to handle, but I am handling them, with the help of God, AA< my friends and family, and all of you too. Thank you for listening to this poor drunks sob stories.
Virginia
