Dent, I don't know if it'll make you feel better but the same thing happened to my Mom 10 years ago. She was supposed to have a partial hysterectomy (leaving her ovaries) and ended up with a total because of endometriosis. 9 times outta 10 they don't know how bad the endometrial tissue damage is until they actually get in there and poke around a bit.
I'm glad your sister made it through ok though - that's the important thing!

Squeak - Good to hear your friend is taking some, albeit forced, time off. I'll continue to keep them in my thoughts.

Punkin-You are right, and they said if they hadn't done it NOW they would have had to go back in and do it within 2 years, so it is better that they got it over with.

Now the good part! She has had the hysterectomy and is now menopausal.
She goes home Thursday, and once she is healed up she will have her baby!!! (She can't actually go get him until March, but I think the sequence of events is amusing!!)
