I so have to back up the Gogol Bordello. That band borrows me energy when I have none and their newest album is fantastic!
When I talk about music I usually link some YouTube but my post count needs to be higher :) I shall return!

Lately, I've been doing my work outs to Every Time I Die's Gutter Phenomenon. Most of the songs on that album just get me going. :)

That is if you like things of the Hardcore/Southern Rock undertone variety.

Wolfmother gets me pumped..
Rise Against.. sometimes I just listen to them non-stop.. pretty much all their songs get you pumped..
Anti-flag, bouncing souls, arctic monkeys, daft punk, the strokes, some RHCP stuff, weezer.. thats what I can think of from the top of my head..

The Dandy Warhols "Bohemian Like You" is one of my favorite workout songs. Also like some Offspring, that "Walkin' in the Sun" song by Smashmouth, some Jane's Addiction, Weezer's "Hash Pipe". I usually don't like really heavy songs, but when I'm sweating, I love Rage Against the Machine, even some Disturbed and Korn.
But the Dandy Warhols is great to get you going.

I have a metal list...;)

xxxtine 06-25-2008 09:41 AM

Oooh eee...

Well I got some suggestions. It sounds from the list that you have pretty broad tastes like me. I love listening to all sorts of stuff so....

How about Living Colour : great rock band. very energetic
Gluecifer
Kyuss; Deep and pounding for when you want to go the distance and get distracted by noise.
****. How about Little Richard. His music's designed to make you move.
The B-52's?
The Ramones? Does anything have a more constant beat than the Ramones?
This might be a biased choice on my part but the Flash Gordon soundtrack. (Long Story) >.> In fact, soundtrack's in all their geeky fundom glory are fun to work out to. Especially weird ones made from movies packed with action. Seriously! Try working out to John Carpenter music. It's a crazy experience!

Escape from New York is indeed a great record.

Toby Mac. He is a Christian artist. All of his stuff is real upbeat. I power walk to it every day and it never gets old

**** yeah! John Carpenter is a force. We were watching Big Trouble the other week and were picturing John at his keyboard....mashing out that crazy score.

Screen write, producer, director and composer.

His wife, "Come to bed!"

John, "Just a minute...I have to get this score JUST right."

haha! I am being as cheeky as I am serious.

I've burned a ton of workout mixes. Rob Zombie is a constant workout fave for me, as is The Offspring, NIN, Mudvayne, Disturbed, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, In Flames, Nevermore, Metallica, Exodus, Pitchshifter, Stabbing Westward, Linkin Park (I mostly just like their first album... and I know everyone says they're just corporate sellouts, but their stuff is so... catchy and high energy) and most metal and/or industrial bands. Here are some good work out songs:

Bullets & Octane - Pirates
Motorhead - Ace of Spades
Beautiful Creatures - Wasted
311 - Down
Mudvayne - Not Falling
Faster Pussycat - Bathroom Wall
Jack Off Jill - Boygrinder
The Faint - Glass Dance
Lillian Axe - Body Double
In Flames - Pinball Map
Buckcherry - Broken Glass (though most of their songs are great for working out... they do have a few ballads but most of it is high energy rock)
Black Flag - Rise Above
The Distillers - Beat Your Heart Out (most Distillers stuff is good for working out, too)
The Misfits - American Psycho (Dig Up Her Bones is also good, as is most of the stuff from that album)
Reverend Horton Heat - Jimbo Song
Dropkick Murpheys - Never Alone
Sex Pistols - Problems (they also have a lot of good work out songs)
3 Doors Down - Smack
Janes Addiction - Just Because
Poison - The Scream or Sexual Thing (if you can find either - both are rare Poison tracks and both are amazing and high energy)
Dead Boys - Sonic Reducer
Hanoi Rocks - Delirious
Nashville P*ssy - Jack Shack
The Buzzc*cks - Jerk
MC5 - Call Me Animal

Alright, okay, I got really carried away ;)

Too funny. My band has a sample of Kurt Russell from Big Trouble, "May the wings of liberty never lose a feather." ROFLMAO. Gotta love Jack Burton!
