Marilyn Manson, Portishead, Otep, Wicked Wisdom (she kinda sucks.. but it grows on ya), Cradle of Filth, Prince, Lot's of 80's hair metal, Lamb of God, some Barbershop quartet, GnR, Dark Tranquility.. a bunch of stuff really. And the deep dark secret buried deep inside my mp3 player... My Humps by Black Eyed Peas.. I hate the song but it's so catchy. :(
|
haha, man i love Black Eyed Peas. there's no shame in that!
|
The Ramones, The Misfits, Sex Pistols....and a bunch of Indian music I found by accident. It's the oddest mix, but it works!
|
I think as long as it works, that's all that matters. Some of my mixes are so random my husband looks at me like I have 2 heads because some of the stuff I put together. I listen to everything basically, with the exception of rap, not a fan, but just imagine your player going from Incubus to Brad Paisley and you've got my play list. On one play list I have a bunch of 80's madonna mixed in with TOOL...It's all music that motivates me and so I don't care what order they pop on in

Lately I've been working out to a lot of cheesy old goth music from my younger days like early siouxsie and bauhaus. I can't believe I took it all so seriously then. Other than that I'll all about 80s jams and hip hop and a few Huey Lewis tunes because I love his voice.
Daft Punk gets me going so I have to have a little of that along with Cut Copy, Air (I know, who works out to Air?) and Amy Winehouse. |
can't imagine working out to Joy Division or The Smiths! It still never ceases to amaze me that people dance to The Smiths at clubs.
It's hard electro or new rave for me when it's time to run - Klaxons, LCD Soundsystem, The Faint, CSS, Sh*tdisco, Friendly Fires, etc. My personal favourite this week is the track 'Searching Flesh' by Dandi Wind, it really gets me going! Plus, it's just f*cking awesome. My mom is really partial to London electro band Infadels for her walks, she rarely strays! |
Lords of Acid and Peaches are two of my work out faves.
Here, here for the random mixes. |
I ADORE New Order!
Working out to: The Smiths Type -O Negative Zepplin Paul Simon Brand New U2 Dropkick Murphys Paul McCartney Gorillaz Jimmy Eats World Alien Ant Farm RHCP and I need to get some Amy Winehouse! |
Currently, I have a nice mix of:
And One Depeche Mode KMFDM VNV Nation Nightwish Apoptygma Berzerk Combichrist NIN The Dresden Dolls Daft Punk Malice Mizer And some weird Japanese pop music that is incredibly catchy and makes me want to dance. I have no clue who it is though. |
Daft Punk is an excellent work out choice. But I'm trying to figure out which Dresden Dolls songs are good for the sort of energy high I need while chugging along. I prefer them for full on belting out in my car on long trips ;) Oh how I <3 you Amanda Palmer.

Well, since my walk videos and work out videos are just that videos. I don't pick what the music is and that is ok. I must be about 950 because I didn't recognize one of the groups you all were talking about lol. Have a feeling they aren't sold with Conway Twitty lol.

I listen to The Academy Is... a lot when exercising - their songs are upbeat and fast, and the lead singer is so amazingly skinny that I just wish I could be a girl version of him!
Some other favorites are: Fall Out Boy My Chemical Romance Panic! at the Disco Cobra Starship Smashing Pumpkins Shiny Toy Guns Paramore Meg and Dia ... anything else that rocks out loud! |
