I'm crashing your party!

Even if I'm the only one here.
Long story short (will be an all too familiar story for many of you):

Lost a bunch of weight a couple years ago, got derailed, am back. Again. Actually, again again. I've been back a couple of times.

Method:

Live. I'm not counting calories, or doing low anything (except, meat, really, because I haven't had any meat for 30+ years. Except the one time there was the roast chicken incident. We won't talk about that.) So that means

Eat healthy, balanced food, get more exercise, keep booze and junk to a minimun (once a week?) and see how it goes. It worked before and was maintainable. I'll fill out the bio if anybody wants to read it- I have one somewhere in the 40+ forum, but it's buried deep.

Good luck to us all.

Oh, and my weight there on the left isn't accurate, but I can't bring myself to change it. It's probably more like 117kg. Will make a new ticker as soon as I figure out how...

Hi MagicSusan!

I like your approach! Keep the faith!

Magicsusan 01-02-2018 10:32 AM

Thanks, Lurchmomma! We used to have a weekly weigh-in thread in the 40+ thread- if i don't find one here, I think I'll carry it over, if you don't object. We seem to be the only ones here...

So you turned 50 as well, eh? Me too :o:D

Same story as yours, lost and gained it all back and some more. I have lost 17 pounds and somehow I am feeling ready to lose the weight again.

Magicsusan 01-12-2018 03:00 AM

It's odd, isn't it, Sum38. When it works, it works, and when it doesn't, it doesn't. Why is that?

Sum38 01-22-2018 09:10 AM

I think my head is in the right place right now. I literally stopped making excuses. I was lying to myself :D And I believed in my own lies. LOL. Now I am 100% honest. -- I am sick and tired of losing weight, wanting to lose weight...so I decided, this time I will do it and be done with it.

Magicsusan 01-24-2018 03:25 AM

Yeah. I would have to say the number 1 vital ingredient to weight loss- and most other things, really- is being honest with yourself!

Sum38 01-24-2018 09:09 AM

Today marks 30 days since I started, and I have lost 12 pounds. I had a few bad days, but mostly good days, some great days.

Funny, now that I don't follow restricted died (I don't eat any added sugar, but that is for health reasons), I seem to be doing ok. Maybe learning to eat in moderation is the key for me. I had great results with Whole30, but after 30 days, I basically ate everything I missed and I was right back where I started.

Magicsusan 01-24-2018 02:15 PM

Wow! 12 pounds in 30 days is a lot!

Yeah, the only thing that ever worked for me was a lifestyle change. Otherwise, when I go back to my old ways the weight just comes back on.

Sum38 01-25-2018 06:57 AM

I had so much bloat. I think I dropped 6 pounds in 2-3 days.
