1/2 day of school for dd#5. She brought home a friend and they baked blueberry muffins.
I won't be eating one. THey do smell and look good. THat will be enough for me. And I am ok with that. |
I rarely buy pickles, so no pickle juice for me!
I did so well today that I decided to post my menu. Breakfast 1 scrambled egg with mushrooms, and lentils Lunch 1 chicken thigh grilled hearts of romaine with a drizzle of blue cheese dressing Dinner 1 hamburger patty with tomato and onion slices, no bun grilled asparagus sauteed cabbage and onion 4 potato chips. (DH bought a different brand of chips and said "You HAVE to try these, and I did.) 1,153 calories. Now to make it to bedtime without any snacking. |
Lucinda, when you make your roasted cauliflower do you roast the head whole or do you break it into flowerettes?

Question I have averaged 833 cals per day for 6 days and walked in the heat for two and a half hours today for a college tour, come him step in scales and am up 2 pounds....I weigh in tomorrow and am very discouraged ...I just want to starve till weigh in.....thanks, feel better ranting to others who know the frustration!!!
|
Deelou, it seems that exercising in the heat can cause fluid retention for various reasons such as the body trying to prevent dehydration from perspiring. By now you may have dropped those 2 lbs, plus some.

Making the Best of a Bad Situation!
It was on the news, a woman had a fire in her home. When they interviewed her she said "I smelled something and thought 'Someone must be barbqueing," then I realized it was me!" LOL |
Good morning ladies. It's official. We have a set wedding date. March 14,2015!!!
Yesterday I started jumping on my trampoline. Omgosh. Out of breath in 5 minutes. I'm so out of shape. But I will not let that trampoline get the best of me. Babies are coming in. Bbl Hugs cajun |

Last year when I was losing weight that's what I was doing and the lbs were just falling off at a steady pace. I'm trying to have the same results this year so I can look half decent for ds wedding. Oh and I add weights to my ankles and wrist.
Our anniversary is march 24 and ds's fiance parents are march 31 of the same year. Can you imaging that both their parents married within a week of each other. Hugs Cajun |
Doing well again so far today.
Breakfast Scrambled egg, with mushrooms, lentils, collard greens and tomatoes Lunch Hot sausage Sauteed cabbage and onion 858 calories so far 32 gm carbs We will probably be eating the buffet at the casino for dinner, but never fear...they have rotisserie chicken that falls off the bone, salmon, crab legs, cooked broc, cauli, and carrots and a big soup and salad bar. I may eat more than usual, but it will be healthy and low carb. No dessert bar for me! |
Gym this morning...I did the whole mile plus a little more, jogging and walking. Also did 10 min on the bike at 10 and a couple weight machines. Worked on one machine I used to do without much problem but since I injured my arm I haven't been able to do very well. Will keep trying. Then we went to Costco for several items and met up with some friends from church and had lunch there with them. After a rest time, I vacuumed the carpet throughout the house. Just a quick job because I missed this yesterday.
We had a nice time at our granddaughter's birthday party last night. She loved her outfit and toy we got her. She loved all her presents and was so happy and gave us all hugs after each gift. She's a very sweet and loving little girl. I can't believe she is five already! Dinner at the party was SO yummy! I ate a small serving of yummy salmon just caught by sil's uncle...oh so good...a tiny serving of an orzo (I think) salad, a large serving of spinach salad, and one corn on the cob with a little butter. About an hour later I had a med size pc of chocolate cake. Too much I'm sure but it sure was good and it was a party so I don't care. Wannabe - have fun and enjoy the meal..I like the fact that you are focused on health rather than being so focused on calories. Oh I could be like that woman with the BBQ the way my thinking is some days! So funny but not funny if there was damage. Cajun/Liana - We used to have one of those little trampolines and it was a fun way to exercise. Don't know what happened to it. I'd use it while watching TV. Unfortunately I didn't lose weight with it...but I know my problem is not my activity but more my eating. You have to work on both. We have much going on these days...lots of doctor appts, esp dh, just trying to keep up with it all. |

hello I am 50 plus.... 12. So I qualify :)
Great to read your posts. I have been meaning to start the trampoline again. I is hiding in plain sight in my bedroom. On its side. The legs serve as great things to hang items from. Note to self. Trampoline.. use it :) Glad to be here. And glad to find this 50 plus group. I have lost a lot of weight..... many times. My middle name could be yoyo. Most recently I gained back a couple of pounds. I mean really gained them. They are firmly in place. My will is not as strong. I am not in a place of strong mastery over it as I had been. Such a hard and tiring thing this lifetime of food cravings. I am not currently overweight. But weight gain is always just a breeath away. Thanks for the great reading and opportunity to post. |
Welcome Flower--- jump in pull up a chair and make yourself at home.

Hi Karen, good to see you. I hope things are going well for you and Tim.
Mary, I do try to take calories into consideration. I still eat too much, but am trying to cut back on meat portions as they seem to have the most calories. I don't eat too many empty calories, but even healthy food still has calories. I can usually lose as long as I stay around 1200-1500 calories. Cajun, I remember your trampoline from before. My husband bought one once but almost killed himself on it. LOL You must really have the coordination for it. Good luck! You'll be looking good in your Mother-of-the-Groom dress. |
