Bobbi we must have been posting at the same time. I understand your feelings about church. My dh and I brought up both our boys in church and now that they are grown and own their own they don't attend church with us. They are young and busy I guess but it hurts me because it's not the way we brought them up. They are both very good sons but wish they would have continued to attend mass. I pray and hopefully one day I will get it answered. That's all we can do I guess.

Hugs cajun.

When I make Mashed Cauliflower, I make it just like Mashed potatoes...adding a little butter, salt and milk (or half and half). You don't need to add very much. I steam the cauliflower and make it really soft. I sometimes use a fork to mash it. If you have a mixer or a food processor, that will make it even better.

I'll also warm it up a bit after it's mashed because the milk and butter makes it cooler.

It is yummy!

Cajun lady and Bobbi I also spent years attending Sabbath services without my DH, but since at the time my kids were little they always came with me, sat by me and were behaved. 14 years into our marriage my DH started coming to services and now he is dedicated and devoted and active in our synagogue. My kids? THey do not attend services but they respect our home's Sabbath observants and they will sometimes join us at synagogue. I make no apologies for needing communal prayer. I think that once my kids marry they will also see the value in how they were raised.

Hello Golden Ones! It's a dark cloudy dripping kind of day up here in the NW. I went to Kohls for some things I needed. While I was there I picked up some picture frames for some recent pics of the local gc. Put them in the frames in the living room and they look so nice. I wish I could have some updated pics of some of the other gc.

I'm happy that my bs are getting better. Today I cut back on my portions (not big) even more at lunch. I normally don't eat high cal at meals esp breakfast and lunch, but with eating the leftovers it's crept up there. Now that the leftover potatoes are gone perhaps it will be easier to keep both calories and carbs down. Also usually I rarely eat potatoes even though they are one of my favorite foods but since the birthday dinner, we've been trying to eat them up. And last night we had beans too, so that's really too much for me, don't know why I didn't think before I fixed that dish! Duh!

Poor dh, he was working on our old car (1995 Ford Escort) and he broke a bolt. He has gone out to try and find another one. If he can't find it I guess the car is done for. And he says it's a bit tricky (and time consuming) to replace too. He didn't sleep well last night and is awfully tired today, so I'm praying for him to find it, but hoping he will wait til tomorrow to actually do the work. Love that man so much!

Lucinda - Glad to hear your thoughts on attending synagogue. Worshippng with other believers is very special.

Change - Thanks for the instruction on mashed cauliflower. I'm like Cajun, when i want to try it i never have cauliflower, but i do plan to make it soon.

Cajun - Yep, it's easier when you have people to be accountable to. I'm going to start with cutting back on my snacking. Can't promise I won't have more than one yet but will try to stick to one.

Bobbi and others concerned about husbands and chlldren not attending church/synagogue - never stop praying for them. Because their will is involved, it can sometimes take a very long time, but there is power in prayer.

Good afternoon GG’s,

It has been an enjoyable day ~ getting stuff done. Nothing important, but stuff I had been wanting to get at. I covered some boxes that I use to organize stuff, and I got the squares of cloth cut out for the quilt I am gonna make for my mom. It is gonna be one of those photo quilts. This one will be the size of one of those throw things. The next part that I have to tackle is to print the pictures I have selected onto the special cloth that you can run through your computer printer and print pictures from your computer on to it. I have planned out the squares and selected the pictures. I have never made a quilt ~ kind of excited about this one.

I’ve got to get more disciplined with the exercise. I biked yesterday, but dragged my feet today and didn’t get any kind of thing done. It has been one of those dreary drippy days here.

Cajun~ I can see why you are burned out from the camping. That is a rigorous schedule. On the weekends when you should be resting and catching up ~ you are go go go ~ packing etc, then right back into the work week. No wonder you are burned out. Glad everything went well for your mom.

TN Donna ~ I keep reading about the mashed cauliflower ~ want to try it. Wonder how much Beano I will have to take though if I eat that. (Sorry if that is TMI).

Deelou ~ your little kitty sounds cute. Pictures

Bobbi ~ I have been praying for years that my kids would go to church, but that prayer hasn’t been answered yet. DH and I grew up going to church. We went as a family when the kids were little, then DH dropped out ~ because of working every day of the week. I sort of stopped going too at that time. Working the night shift and every other weekend, made it hard to go. Now that we are retired, we could go, but I don’t think DH will ever go back. That was so hard for his father to understand ~ his dad was a Baptist minister. I think maybe DH was just all churched out. I have been kind of looking around, but haven’t made it back yet. Doesn’t mean I don’t believe in God though.

Rosey ~ how is your lady cave coming along? Glad you got to enjoy a “me” day.

Lucinda ~ what is the spiru-tein thing you mention? The doggy you are holding in your picture is cute ~ what kind is it? Tell us about him/her ~ we love fur babies here.

Welcome Tam-Tam. The one, one, one diet you mention sounds like an easy thing to follow. I requested the book at the library ~ wanted to read more about it.

Hang in there Mary ~ you’re doing great with the fiber. Glad your blood sugars have been running better.

Wonder how K3 is doing.

Lynn ~ hope you are having a good visit in Florida.

CK ~ praying for Tim and you ~ sending {{{{{hugs}}}} also.

Donna ~ that was such a beautiful card you put up for K3. Loved how the little lady bug crawled out from under that petal at the end.

Way to go Gramie on skipping the cake at church.

Hi Gia, Robin, Lizzy. Welcome Caley.

Carol Sue ~ I want to try that quinoa ~ but when I have found it ~ it was pretty pricey for just a little box. I wonder if it would be any less at a health food store.

I’d better get this finished and posted. DH and Maddie will return soon ~ they have been out running errands, and probably to the childrens museum. They also like to go to the mall and pass through the food court and taste the samples that are being offered. Sometimes DH has coupons for an ice cream at McDonalds.

Maddie is staying overnight with us tonight ~ mama is out of town for her work. We have to get up early and get her on the bus.

Hope you all are having a nice evening.

Take care

Good morning friends. Packing. Last night at the camp!!!!!!! We are only staying tonight because dh is going hunting at another location Sunday. So it's back home for me tomorrow afternoon. Next weekend we are going to my first cousins house for the weekend. Then the next weekend we will go back to the camp and close it up for the summer. Yay.
We will have about a month and a half at home before the fishing starts and we go to the summer camp. I am looking forward to that.
Dh and I have only 1 bed in our house right now. Both sons took their bedroom sets when they moved into their own houses this summer. We are going to attempt to build a bed. I wanted it made out of pecked cypress but dh said that going to be too hard to dust and he's right. So we may use planed cypress or pecan. Pecan wood is beautiful. We really need another bed in our house for our cousin and her husband when they come visit. It's the same cousin that we are going to next weekend. We are looking at patterns online. If it comes out nice we may make a headboard and footboard for our king size bed. We have a large 4 poster bed but I love homemade cypress furniture. I guess it's called rustic furniture.

K3 still praying for you. Hoping we hear from you soon.

Tndonna how awesome for you!!! Congrats. I know how you feel. I've not moved sizes in 2 years because I have not been a good girl dieting. I'm trying so hard right now to stay on tract. Hopefully I'm successful. Thanks for the cauliflower recipe. I'm going to try next week when I get a cauliflower this weekend.

Robin you are so right. Why didn't I lose this weight when I was younger I keep asking myself.

Gayle yes it's true we never stop. Rarely do we sit in the house on weekends and rest. If we do it's because it's storming outside or we are sick. I guess we should be thankful that we can still be active. I HATE sitting in the house watching tv or doing nothing.

Mary I'm trying to stick to plan too. We can do this. K3 would be happy she wouldn't have to yell at us beings she's not feeling too good. Lol.

Lucinda I was thinking the same thing about our sons. Once they marry they will go back and see the importance for their children.

Well I gotta get moving. Coffee break is over. Hi to all I missed.

Hugs
Cajun

Greetings and good morning. Ok...I am not fastidious in knowing who asked what but ..oh its Glynne, Hi.
Spiru=tein is a non dairy, non soy, flavored protein powder that I mix with almond milk, instant coffee and rat poison, I mean sweet-n-low. It is 145 calories but has 100% of a lot of vitamins and some other good stuff, plus it fills my belly so I am not hungry until lunch. I add the coffee b/c I am addicted to caffein and the first step -trigger for me is when I go back to drinking coffee with flavored creamer..that is always my down slide to Venti soy-lattes at Starbucks which is 500 calories!
My beloved dog is a funny story.
He is a mutt, a mongrel but here in the suburbs of Manhattan he was marketed as a "designer-breed" so the man selling him said he was a Yorkie-pooh. He is about 3 years old. He loves me and my husband, But best of all he really is rude to my adult live in sons! They get a kick out of how aggressive and demanding this little 4 pound dog can get!
My hubby let me get a dog 10 years after the birth of our last child. He knew I was aching for another infant to motherlove..so a pooch seemed like a good compromise..and yes he sleeps with us!

Good Morning girls I felt like a group hug after looking at the beautiful trees we have this morning. Everything is closed because of the deep snow, the YMCA is open to anyone who can walk over, no cars allowed in parking lot. Bruce will get his exercise shoveling snow and I will be painting the balance of the basement floor.
I have time for a couple comments, then off to work.

Glynne...I always wondered how to print photo's on material, where do you buy that kind of fabric? Doesn't it get stuck in the printer? I just started making quilts a year or so ago and love it. I'm using the "buddy" quilter where you put the back on the same time you make the square, so easy.

Cajun...glad your mom's stint's worked and don't tell me about 70 degree weather and running the air conditioner. Geeeeeeeeezzzz, it's winter!

Donna(change4life)...I've eaten lots of the cauliflower mock spuds, my hubby even likes them. But steaming them is the only way to go if using frozen cauliflower or they are runny. If using fresh, steaming or cooking in a little chicken broth is good too.

deelou...you must show us a picture of your new rescue kitty.

Mary...it's been a long time of prayer in my case for DH. (Because their will is involved, it can sometimes take a very long time, but there is power in prayer.)

Tam...per meal?(one carb, one protein, one fat)
