Thank you Renee. I should be losing more, somewhere between 2-3 pounds a week. There must be some hidden snacking somewhere that I need to identify. Usually what I have is one of the small packs of 6 saltines which is probably the worst thing I could have anyway. I'm on high blood pressure medicine too. Sometimes the thought of eating more raw carrots just nauseates me.

Yeah Darius and Deelou! Good job on losing some weight this week. :dancer:
My weigh-in today is 138 so I am down 3 lbs. I am so happy. I am hoping there will be more from our group this week who are also moving in the right direction. |
:bravo: Corinna......you did great!
|
Thanks Renee. I am keeping my fingers crossed hoping to see some progress from you too.
|
Corinna congratulations; 3 pounds is terrific!
|
Thank you Darius!

|
Renee that's a terrific loss!
|
Thanks Corinna and Darius. I really paid attention to my diet and made some healthy choices....
|
Down 1
Down 1 lb. Made the 20 lb loss mark!
I would rather see 2 lbs a week - so must work harder. Congrats to those of you who have lost. Lest keep this train moving...... |
It is getting too depressing so I think I will be leaving or not posting...I really am following and eating just a bit less than MFP suggests and tho I was finally down a few days ago....alas...back up to zero today....good luck and congrats to those who have figured out what works for them....

Thanks, but after 6 years of staying below 1400 c a day, trying low fat, low carb, plain counting calories, eating healthier, intermittent fasting...I think my thyroid condition has just messed me up...I have tried alternating 900 days with 1400 days,, you name It unless it is a crazy diet I have tried...still just up and down 2-4 pounds..really tried this past October or whenever I hopped on here. And still nothing....
|
Good job Marian! Hang in there. I think your back on the slender shaping track once again!!! :cb:
Deelou-I know it must be so frustrating for you. You have even greater obstacles to overcome in dieting with your thyroid than most of us do. It sounds like you have tried so many things without success. However, don't give up yet, there has to be something that you haven't tried yet. I know there has to be something out there to help you. :goodvibes" I have one suggestion, but please don't be insulted by the idea. It was something I tried some years ago and it helped me to lose approx 40 pounds in 4 months. I had tried everything even hypnosis, and nothing was working. I was so depressed. I finally decided to do it and guess what, I saw weekly results. I know that what may work for one person may not always work for another. However, if you haven't tried it, than think about trying it. So by now you are asking- well what is it? I started daily prayers to God before my meals and early in the morning. Maybe it kept me more focused on how often I was eating and what I was eating. However, I choose to believe otherwise. Just as I choose to use this process now to pray for you daily in an effort to help you reach your diet goal. I hope you will consider it too. It always helps to have more than one person praying for the same thing. You have nothing to lose by trying it other than maybe some pounds. Give it a shot for a couple of weeks. Seriously. Tell me if you don't see any results. I will be praying for you daily, and I believe you will see results if you try it. It may just the boost you are looking for in addition to your current diet efforts. So are you willing to give it a try? |
Yes, yes, yes, prayer is a powerful tool!!!!!
|
Thank you sweet Corinna...I pray daily and thank you for your offer..will cut calories more this week and hopefully feel like I can keep up with other responsibilities and have energy to walk more averaged about 1500 steps a day this week, one day of 3000 put me down for a day!
|
Great! I'm so happy Deelou that you pray daily. Okay, so now I know we have something more in common. :) Now more specifically, do you pray right before every meal and and ask that the food you eat is used only to nourish you body, and that you only eat what your body needs. Do you ask for the will power to turn away those foods that are not needed? Do you pray that to have those extra unwanted pounds disappear from your body and to be used to energize you through the day? I think you get the idea. Try praying like this before every meal in addition to your normal prayers. I am going to do it for you, but you have to try too. Okay? :hun:
Renee-thanks for your feedback!!! :) Would you like to join this prayer effort too for Deelou? We can all support/pray for each other right before our meals. :grouphug: |
Yes, Corinna, I will certainly add Deelou to my prayer list. Prayer is powerful!
Doing good this week. Resisted a lot of dessert temptations yesterday and made healthy choices at a lunch meeting. I'm taking it 1 day at a time..... |
Thank you...yes I have in the past but slipped up on the targeted prayer at mealtime. I will make a point to do this...

Deelou - Great! Prayers are going out in full force now...:) Let's keep on it.
Good job Renee. Keep making each day count. We can and will do this. I have been avoiding temptations too. Now just need to cut down on my portion sizes to make it count. |
Breakfast: Hummus and spinach on seeded bread.
Lunch: Carrots, Brussel Sprouts, Scalloped Potatoes. Snack: Nectarine Supper: Black beans with squash. Morning jog. Evening walk. It's evening and I'm still hungry. I must remember stay thin to win. What touches my lips may go on my hips. My belly is full of jelly, that is jelly flab which is really bad. I can do this....I can do this... I will. |

I found this online...not a mistake, www.settingcaptivesfree.com and joined for a 60 day trial....it is free and the very worse that could happen is that I stay the same weight but get closer to God!!!

Deelou-That sounds interesting. I will have to take a good look at the site. Thanks for sharing it with us. I've been keeping my promise to you. I'm been feeling positive about it too. :)
Renee-sounds like your doing a good job this week. I expect you will see some more positive results this weekend too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Darius-let's see if your slight changes in diet made any impact to your weight loss this week. I am feeling hopeful for you too. Let's keep the momentum going folks! We can do this. We will. :dust: |
Hello everyone it is Friday weigh-in day.
Corinna I don't think I have my diet fine tuned yet but I am still losing so that is one good thing. I hope to have my diet/exercise well worked out by the time I hit maintenance, but my needs will be changing also as my weight changes so it is like hitting a moving target. But my situation really isn't so complicated; eat less + exercise more = lose weight. Thank you Corinna, Renee, teati, and Liz for the words of support. 25/30 Pound Goal - Let's Do It Together Goal: 30 lb Start date: 6 Dec 2013 12/06 .... 138.6 kg .... start 12/13 .... 136.3 kg .... -5.1 lb 12/20 .... 135.9 kg .... -0.9 lb 12/27 .... 134.4 kg .... -3.3 lb 01/03 .... 133.7 kg .... -1.5 lb 01/10 .... 133.0 kg .... -1.5 lb 01/17 .... 131.2 kg .... -4.0 lb -16.3 lb TOTAL 54.4% of goal reached |

I hope to see a downward trend on Saturday :) |
Wow Darius!!!!!! Great job. You are doing great!!! Keep it going. That's really terrific.
:bravo: |
Thank you very much Renee and Corinna for the support!
|
My weigh-in for today only showed 0.5 lb loss. I am really surprised, because I expected it to be more. I checked mid-week and I was down 1 1/2 pounds. So somehow it changed. I am not giving up though. It is still a loss and it counts. I hope the rest of your are more successful this week.
 |
Hi Everyone
Hi! What a good week. And I am enjoying the start of a 3 day week-end. Down one pound. Hopefully, I'll lose a little more next week. Congrats to all of us who lost! Marian
|
Good job Marian!!!! Keep it up. Enjoy your weekend.
|
:carrot: Down 2.8 lbs. :carrot:
Corinna and Marian, the scale is moving in the right direction for you. Have a great week! We can and will do this! |
Woohoo Renee!!!! :dancer: I'm so happy for you. You did really good this week. Your hard efforts paid off. Keep at it, you are headed in the right direction. Great job!!
|
Glad to see you are all staying on course! I've gotten a bit off the path the last 2 weeks but on track again. I've probably gained a pound or two but I'll just weigh next Saturday.
Corinna - I tend to make the same kind of smoothees every morning. Some plain yogurt, chia, hemp or flax seeds, pumpkin, spinach, oj and frozen berries, sometimes some banana or peaches. It's huge and that's what I have until lunchtime. If I make smoothees in the evening, it's because I want to really fill up with few calories after dinner and I'll just do berries, pumpkin and spinach. Deelou - Look at it like feeding your body what it needs, nourishing every cell, your organs and your brain, building your muscles, and creating a super highway of veins, vessels, digestive and lymph systems. Your body is running like a top even if pounds are not being lost. Think about how great your body feels! I'm looking forward to sleeping through the night again since I am back to exercising! |
A Prayer to Lose Weight
Guide me lord, as I strive to lose weight. You are my light and my anchor, and with you I know all things are possible. Help me this day to make healthy choices and give me the strength to fight against destructive cravings that negatively effect my health. You said, “The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down. As I bow before you today, raise me up help me towards my goals. I have been taught that anything that replaces God is an idol. Help me to reject any unhealthy habit in which I seek false comfort. For you are my one true comfort and salvation. In your name I pray, Amen. - See more at: http://www.prayers-for-special-help.....e7obG4Wu.dpuf |
