Hi Cajun,
We will be leaving FL next week. Thank you for your prayer for my DD. She had a blood test on Monday. Hopefully, her Dr. will be back to her quickly.

Hi Donna,
My Dd would love me to move to FL, but I really don't want to. I can't stand the heat and humidity & I miss my friends and family in the north.
Our "flu" was mostly bronchitis + general weakness.

Hi Karen,
Florida is BEAUTIFUL, but I am NOT a fan of the weather. With all of my skin cancer, I try to keep out of the sun. This is VERY difficult in FL.

Hi Karen3,
I love those shots. I have had them in my shoulders, knees, and feet. Luckily, they work well for me. I know several folks who got no relief from them.
DD has hot flashes, heart irregularities, extreme emotional ups and downs.

Hi Gayle,
So sorry to read about your hand. Do you know what caused the pain?

Hi Linda,
Welcome! I think you will enjoy our group of friendly and supportive women.

Hi Dee,
I am also a British TV fanatic. Down here in FL, I found a new series - The Bletchley Circle. Have you seen this one? It reminds me of Foyle's War, but with a group of women as the main characters.

Hi Mary,
Down here, there is "yoga on the beach" every morning. If I am going to be down here for any length of time over the winter, I will try that. While I am here, I am not going to the gym, but we are walking a LOT.

Hi Bobbi,
What's going on with all the rennovations?

Hi Rosey,
Your menu looks REALLY low-cal. You must be losing quickly.

Hi Susan,
Nice to meet you.

Everyone,
What is everyone doing for Mother's Day? We are going to St. Armand's (my favorite town down here). Then, in the evening, we are going to a sunset drum circle on the beach.

Lynn

Good morning ladies,
Exercise done. Supper cooked. Clothes washing.
Yesterday the came put ds's sewer plant in. Still waiting on electric poles. Dh came home with more crawfish. We peeled 2 more sacks. My fingers are really sore.

Lynn y'all have a safe trip home. Will continue to pray for you and your family.
We haven't decided what's going on here. Dh wants to go to the camp for the weekend and do something for my birthday Friday. We usually cook on Sunday afternoons. We will have both our moms over for that.

Susan congrats on sticking to your plan this weekend. My trampoline came with a meter that hooks to the side and it shows you how many jumps calories you did and burned. If you want an extreme workout I use weights strapped to my ankles and wrists. I use 1 to 2 lbs and they get really heavy. I can tell the difference. I love my trampoline.

Rosey I know how you feel about it staying on you mind. I hate to see families by the red lights asking for work. You would want to help but have to wonder if it's for real.

Bobbi did the carpenter get the car garage up yet. Sounds like things are going as planned with out road blocks.

Mary how is the new diet plan working for you?

Deelee it was good to hear from you again. So sad to hear about your mom and all she has had to go thru. Praying for a good recovery. Hang in there.

Lindadee we've all been on yo yo diets. Just keep thinking about your things you still want to do. Make tiny goals and when you get that goal reached pick something from your list and do it. Thaws ladies are very helpful. Welcome.

Gayle how's the hand/wrist today?

Karenfl congrats on you size 16. Compliments make me feel so proud. Wish I could send your dh some sausage. We just made 90 lbs.

Donna glad you are feeling better.

Hi to all I missed

Hugs
Cjun

Hi everyone! Just got home from the gym. It is cooler, cloudy and sprinkling just a little off and on. Feels pretty good to me. We are resting a bit then going shopping for a garbage disposal. Ours finally quit on us. We tried to get along without one but have had the sink plug up briefly a couple times because we forget and allow bits of food to get down there. So decided we'd better just buy one.

I didn't lose this week, but at least I didn't gain. I know I get too much sodium when I eat out and we did that a lot last week. Even the salty stuff I eat at home like sunflower seeds don't seem to bother me in limited amounts but boy, when I eat out I really gain fast anymore.

Yesterday's eating 1515 calories

Breakfast
Fat Stripin' Frappa

Morning Snack
Strawberries

Lunch
Cottage cheese
Celery

Afternoon Snack
Sunflower Seeds
Fat Stripin' Frappa 1/2 serv

Dinner
Grilled Cod basted with butter and seasonings
Fried Rice
1/2 Sticky Bun

Evening Snack
Sunflower Seeds
4 pcs chocolate
Hot Cocoa

Lynn...we sold our country home, closing date is May 31st. We found an adorable little cottage in town, all 4 of my siblings with spouses live in the same town. Also our DD and Gkids. It's exactly what we want.

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, it's so hard when it's your flesh and blood. Health issues are so worrisome but you are back on the right track. Jump in with both feet and do what you did before the sadness hit... Start training for a marathon,DO NOT BUY JUNK FOOD.

When your friends ask you out for a meal, explain that you have to take care of yourself and would they please help you make good food choices. NO BOOZE. Put yourself 1st. I know you can do it, you just have to get your mind set. Good Luck

Cjun...nope, the garage won't go up until late summer. Too many important things to be done. We rented a garage for 4 months for the 1932 Chevy, our vehicles will have to sit outside for the summer.

I've been working at the new house every day since we purchased it. My jeans were getting baggy in the butt and I had to go to smaller notches on my belt. I jumped on the scale this morning to see what was going on? Lost 5 pounds, my fingernails look like crap, paint on two pairs of good jeans and tops and I'm a tad grumpy. Waaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Hi Cajun,
Since we have been down here, I have been eating some type of fish every time we go out. Not sure whether or not the shrimp are coming from the gulf, but they are delicious!

Hi Mary,
When I get home I need to get one also. Question – do you have to replace with the same brand?

Hi Bobbi,
Thank you for the ideas. When I get home, I plan to put them up on my refrig. For me, I do not buy “junk food” – but I DO buy LOTS of things that are sweet and low-calorie. The problem is that when you eat 5 or 6 of these in one day, they are no longer “low-calorie.”

Hi Karen3,

I have had cortisone shots in both knees within the past year. They still bother me, but much less. I think that they are better down here – maybe because I have traded the beach for the treadmill?

Hi Rosey,

If I come up to visit you, will you teach me how to quilt? Many years ago, my DD made cabbage patch dolls for me and my DH. When I get home, I will take a pic and post it.

Hi Everyone,

How many of you have heard of “drum circles?” Every Wed, Sat, & Sun night there is a drum circle on the beach at sunset. I went to one with my DD & SIL and we actually danced in the circle. Supposedly, they are “healing.” Hopefully, they will help my DD.

Looks like another beautiful day here. All week, the weather has been between 70 and 80. This I could live with – especially in the winter!

Have a great day,

Lynn

Good morning goodies,
Exercise done. I'm trying so hard. I have about 5 lbs to go to get back to my ticker weight. Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm praying my mil don't show up with my favorite cake. I'm not going to be that lucky. She never misses. Maybe I should ask her not to make one. But I don't want to hurt her feelings.
Dh forgot his cell phone this morning. I'm his answering service today. Geez that man gets a lot of calls. Most of his work is by phone. His boss called early this morning and thought he had the wrong number. He laughed when I told him it wouldn't take him long to figure out it was missing.

Lynn the drum circle is nothing I've ever heard of but very interesting. Is it something like the native Indians would do with their drums? Fresh shrimp is always better than the frozen kind. Living near the gulf we always have fresh seafood.

Rosy I hope the injections give your Steve relief. My mom has to do an epidural injection now and then.

Bobbi maybe those 3 shots of tequila would help your aching muscles. Lol.
Congrats on losing 5 lbs without even trying!!!!!!

Karenfl how are the knees today.

Mary did you get garbage disposal installed yet. I also think sodium is hurting my weight loss.

Later ladies!!!! Hi to all!!!!

Hugs

Howdy all...just back from the doctor and my knees are wonderful and painfree.....aaaaa, might be the novacaine that goes in with the shots.... But I'll take even this even if just for now.

Cheese burger without the roll and cukes/onions that I just put into vinegar/splenda/water. Got 1/2 doz beautiful local tomatoes so it will be summer in your mouth night. Now have figure how to reduce a BLT...OMG BLT on white mountain bread is fabulous. Have to check the cal/fat in the bread. Last night I baked pork chops with dash of season salt and low cal BBQ sauce, 4 sweet potato fries(baked) and a salad with a dab of goat cheese. It made me smile for sure.

We thought it was so cute when Dash started talking....but this morning he stood about 6" from my sleeping face and whoo hooed and gabbed until I got up and got his breakfast. He understands about 1000 words and will fetch the right toy when asked, he has different greetings for people who drive up, But now he is trying to actually tell us what he wants. Hungry smacks his lips, out he flops his ears and backs up....depending on direction of his fanny that's back or front door. Don't ever use the word GO...he goes bonkers!!! Jeep also and Jazz (his girl friend) Think I need a life.....of course I am coming back in my next life as a dog. Considering I grew up with 2 Great Danes that I thought were my brothers, am not surprised by all this doggage.

Looking back over this week it sounds like life is getting sweeter for all of us. Gayle so glad to hear he's gone. Bobbi pictures please. I'll send you a disposible camera. Cajun just a taste of your birthday cake. Happy Early Birthday.

Rosey....years ago bought my DGD," Mabel "a cabbage patch kid. Could have sold her for a lot, but no gave her to my kid. She undressed it and never ever played with it.

Lynn...have seen drum circles on tv. Have you had Grouper? Almond Grouper is food porn!

Donna....Are you all better yet?

Mary...we owned this house a while before we realized it had a garbage disposal. Don't use it because we have a septic tank. It also came with central vaccum that doesn't suck and the outlets are in weird places. The on/off switch is in the garage huh? try running thru the whole house to shut the darn thing off. Just more hoses to fill the closet. Think will test a frappe tomorrow. They sound so good.

k3

ps 130 cal in 2 slices....BLT weekend..yum

Well, my weight has dropped back down at least. We went to the gym as usual. It's a nice day and on the way home we stopped at Costco for gas and were refused because we forgot to renew our membership. When we got our rebate check we had offered to renew it, that was a couple months ago and the guy says it's not due til April so you can pay it then if you'd rather. So we waited thinking we'd get a bill, none came and now this happens. So we went in and renewed it and then stayed and shared a slice of pizza again! I think if we hadn't gone in and smelled the food we'd have been fine, but it did taste good.

Yesterdays eating: 1607 calories
Breakfast
Fat Stripin' Frappa

Morning Snack
Strawberries

Lunch
Combo Pizza, 0.5 Slice

Afternoon Snack
Strawberries - Raw, 5 extra large
Peanuts
Prunes
Fat Stripin' Frappa, 1/2 serv

Dinner
Grilled Cod basted with a little butter and seasonings
Potato/sweet potato drizzled with little olive oil
Salad - no dressing
Prunes

Evening Snack
4 pcs chocolate
Sunflower Seeds
Fat Stripin' Frappa 1/2 serv

Karen3 - We also have a septic tank but the first disposal came with the house and we got used to it. It has lasted 48 years! We don't put everything down it but it has never caused us any trouble with the septic tank. We mostly put soft things down it. We used to put egg shells but we stopped just in case. It might be tempting to go back to putting more down it with a new sharper one but so far we have never had any problem whether we did or not. Just to be safe I'll try to not put somethings down though. I miss my mochas but I still have one can of mix and can make if I want, it's just that these Fat Stripin ones are so high protein yet are low calorie. And they really help to keep me full. You can put coffee in them but I don't really need it and it kinda upsets my tummy. But I think I'll try a strawberry one soon.

Cajun - Dh plans to install the garbage disposal today. He's been so busy working in the yard.

Lynn - According to dh they will all fit so no, the brand doesn't matter. We almost got one for septic tanks but then realize we were paying more just for the solution of enzymes and our septic tank guy says not to put any septic tank stuff down it and it works fine as is. So we got a regular mid-priced one.

Bobbi - That's my problem...I don't work hard enough...congrats on the weight loss even though I don't think you probably even needed it.

Karen31 - The frappa is from the book Trim Healthy Mamas, I've been reading. Don't know if I can post the recipe but it uses whey protein powder and almond milk plus fiber. It contains no sugar. I use cocoa powder to make it chocolate. It makes a huge serving and helps me stay full.

Good morning ladies,
It rained all night. We got well over 3 inches. We are expecting more tonight and tomorrow. We have a wedding at 1. I hope it clears for the bride and groom.
I'm trying to decide if I want to go eat a steak for my birthday or stay in and cook fish. :/ If it's pouring rain again we may stay in. So far I've been spared of birthday cake. I think my mil forgot
I'm 3.5 lbs away from my ticker weight. This morning I put on my jeans that I couldn't get in for the last 2 months. Yay!!! I'm trying so hard to get to goal.
Keep thinking about our vacation in the smokey mountains in October. Hoping to hike some trails.
I have my yearly gyno exam coming up. I will need to take the day off for that so I scheduled blood work with family dr at 8. Mammogram at 11 gyno at 1 and chiropractor at 3. I'll get it all done in one day. I hate to take off work. Crazy but I've always been like that.
It's time for my jog so I better get going. Y'all have a nice weekend ladies.
Hugs
