Hi challenge friends!
I have stayed within calorie and carb limits the last few days but probably not the most quality food. (cheeseburger ?) wince. I have been on the go so much that I haven't had time to eat a lot. I bought some protein bars to help me in vegas and I hope to find balance with eating and enjoying. I will check in when I am gone..... take care Rie |

I know I haven't posted in a couple days. Can we say overwhelmed??? I am like Rie in that my cals have been ok (except Saturday girls shopping day where I was at 2064 cals) but the choices not top notch. Yesterday was at 1600 and the choices were better than over the weekend. Today, the calories will be more toward 1500 and I'm going to make good choices. Yesterday DH and I tandem biked for an hour and burned lots of calories. This morning I did an abbreviated doggie hike (alarm didn't go off since I set it wrong). Mary you are doing fabulous. 972 calories, 12 carb serv. I messed up at dinner and had too many carbs but the good thing is that we ate late so I shouldn't have any more carbs anyway. Good workout today,

I finished yesterday with 1357 calories and just the abbreviated doggie hike (1 mile). My quads are more tired than pre-surgery so I'm exercising them M, W, and F. And biking both days on the weekend, at least Saturday. Basically I took the Tuesday workout out of my routine for now. Gotta get them back in shape.
Mary, you were low on those cals yesterday. You must have been busy and forgot to eat. I bet that scale is going to be nice to you! Marie |
Actually Marie the scale was NOT nice to me! I gained 2.4#. Only thing I can think of is maybe I got too much sodium. I had some potato soup (from a mix) that had quite a bit of sodium but for the whole day I didn't think I got that much sodium. But that's all I can think of. I even worked out hard yesterday. Today no gym but I have done a lot of housework. I hope it will drop.
Today: 1369 calories and 12 carb serv. It's only 6:39 here so it's possible I will eat a little more but I'll try to stay away from carbs if I do. |
Mary, I stopped even trying my scale. Logging the calories is keeping me in control and that square box was just frustrating. I hope that it behaves better for you.
I was at 1614 cals yesterday. I did the full doggie hike and my elliptical workout. The cals were higher than I'd prefer but since I had a cinnamon roll first thing in the morning (and a headache right after so it was bad for me all around) I think the day went well considering. :) BTW, Terapet had a computer blowup and will be back soon. Marie - my weight came down again so guess it was the sodium. Still not as low as a few days ago but at least it's down. I know I'm doing ok..not always eating as healthy as I should ...the mochas still tend to be my downfall, but I'm doing well otherwise. What I'm really happy about is that I'm having no problem with evening snacking! That's a major victory! I was wondering about Terrapet...knowing her she's doing fine on her diet though...she's very disciplined. breakfast - my pb2 mocha lunch - 1/2 sl combo pizza snack - pb mocha and strawberries dinner - salad, steak, sauteed cauliflower, strawberries and a pb mocha snack - a light mocha (no pb of any kind and water instead of milk) When I had my last mocha, dh said I've been counting ..that's your 3rd...LOL he missed one! I didn't tell him though.;) |
Mary :rofl: not to tell DH that you had 4. Good job sneaking that extra one or two in. Without a doubt, mochas don't help me stay in great control. But I always have milk ones now and they have calcium and protein. So I figure they're a health food. :)
I was at 1509 cals yesterday and only did the doggie hike But I definitely feel so much closer back to normal!!!! Marie |
1217 calories but I think i got about 15 carb serv., my bs was good today at least. Did usual workout.

Mary, great news that the BS is good and you are doing great on your eating. I wasn't so great yesterday. I had 1733 cals. I was really hungry after work and had about 3/4 serving of tortilla chips and 1/2 serving of choc covered pretzels. So there was the extra 200 cals for the day. Oh well, today is another day. Yesterday DH and I went for a 10 mile tandem ride and had walked the doggies in the morning. At mile 5 of the ride, I got a nasty cramp right below the back of my knee. I thought someone shot me. A load of bad words came out of my mouth while DH quickly stopped the bike. I walked it out for 5 minutes, but I had to ride back. The whole time it was like a bunch of mini cramps and it was so sore. I used a heating pad on it during the evening and that helped so much. Today it is sore but much better. I'm hoping it doesn't mess with our Mom's Day plans. We were going to Medford for a 35 mile bike ride tomorrow. :(

1653cal 12carbserv. Ate out plus baked cookies but did much better than usual. I didnt eat any while baking or immed after. Only had 2 in afternoon and 2 this eve. 2 = 1 serv. took kids to McDonald and they gave us too many fries. Usually dh and I share a small. I could easily have eaten a whole bag but I didnt. So I'm pleased with these NSv!

1544 Calories and about 12 carb serv. Had a big dinner today at my dds. It was not only Mothers Day we were also celebrating our dd's birthday which is tomorrow but her dh won't be in town then. I ate a big big piece of chocolate mocha cake. I really wasn't hungry for it and could have easily stopped but for some reason felt it was ok at the time. :dizzy: later dh and I said next time we should have shared or else next time I would just eat 3 large bites. I also drank a margarita and had a few tortilla chips. Otherwise I had chicken breast (cooked very low fat), a cup of broccoli (plain) and a little fruit. Since we got home I've eaten very little, so hopefully I'm still ok overall.
I do feel I did much better today than I would have done in the past. I felt very in control even though I did choose to eat the cake. I didn't feel I just had to eat it like I would have in the past. I know there will be big meals and celebrations and at times I will eat more than usual. I no longer want food to control me, whether eating too much or to little. The important thing today is that since I got home I've eaten very little and tracked it all and I THINK i'm still within my limits. In the past I've usually felt I've screwed up, I might as well eat whatever I want. That is allowing food to control me instead of me controlling it, and I don't want to ever think that way again. So thats an NSV in itself. |
