Tera, I vote for cute spring clothes AND a very small portion of your party snacks so you don't feel deprived.
Mary, great job on the carbs and blood sugar. Like Tera said, you show your BS who is boss. Rie, I love cheesecake. I'm sort of lucky that DH does not like it because then it just never gets made or brought into my house. You're doing great and a slice isn't going to hurt you. Lucinda, great attitude with the no booze and chips to watch a football game. A fresh start is always good. I weighed this morning even though it's still TOM. I'm just so much more motivated to stay on the straight and narrow if I've weighed in the morning. The scale was not mean and not nice. Same as before so that is a good thing. I was at 1450 cals yesterday and I biked and hiked so I'm doing well. I'm looking forward to the next three weeks (the pain free weeks) because that's the time zone I lose (mostly week 3). I could use a boost of happy scale motivation. Marie |
Quick note: I ate, drank and was overly merry! LOL Not even going to count yesterday. Yes, it was that bad. The mean old scale is really mean today. Clean and sparing eating for a couple of days and lots of water.
Later! |
What is the challenge? What I need to do?
|
Rie, at your post. Glad you were merry.
Cinnamonie, the challenge is a self-challenge to keep on the straight and narrow so we lose weight. A few of us post our calories, some our foods, some both and some just saying they're on track. In other words, no hard and fast rules. You probably noticed there isn't a lot of food/eating/exercising conversation on the Golden Girls thread and we needed a place for that since we've all got the food problem. We'd love you to join us. Mostly it is chatting about food and exercise with a bit of personal stuff thrown in. Please join us. Yesterday was my "freer" day and I was 1594 calories. We took the doggies out on the hike and DH pushed DGD in the jogging stroller with Kai helping pull it up (and down) the hills. It was a beautiful day out. I did the elliptical workout this morning and suggested DH wait till I get home from work for the doggie hike so we could go together. MWF are his days and I do T-Th before dawn walks. But it's still lovely out so I'm hoping he waits. Marie |
Marie-Your dog walks sound lovely (and lively). I have a dog but she is 14 years old and doesn't like to go any further than the neighbors house. I mostly just take her out in the yard and let her sniff around to her heart's delight. The biggest problem is she keeps wanting to eat all the acorns. I cannot imagine that is good for her. To top it off she is already overweight even though I only feed her a cup of food a day. She is a silly old thing.
MsCinn-Welcome! Rie-I am with you girl. Of course I overate yesterday. Now it is back to the healthy stuff. Todays cals were 1630 and today's exercise was 60 minutes of step class at the Y. I made my vegetable soup yesterday (along with turkey roll ups and choc chip cookies for the party) so my lunches are set. Thankfully none of the party food came back home-unless you count that extra pound and a half on the scale this morning. Well I will be kicking that to the curb this week-I hope. |
today-tofu, mustard greens, chipolte pepper, tomatoes all sauteed w/ olive oil
lunch- salad greens w/ cucumber, water chestnuts, tahini, nooch and liquid aminos so far that is 450 calories. That leaves 450 for dinner. I can do that. |
Good job lucinda
Todays cals-1565 Exercise-60 minutes at the y for strength training I moved my ticker finally. I have been under 147 for 6 days out of the last 8 so I think it is going to stick now. |
Tera, great job on the loss. And Lucinda, I saw your loss on the GG thread. Way to go both of you dedicated chickies!!!! And your calories look good. I have a little munchiness but not too bad since I'm staying in my calories. Want to know my after work craving??? The spicy chicken strips in the pasta I made over the weekend. I left the pasta and grabbed a couple pieces of chicken. Not too bad. :) My calories yesterday were 1445 and the scale tells me I gained weight. They are the most fickle creatures. People say women are fickle. Not nearly as much as the darn scales.

Hello Friends
Busy couple of days but I am on plan. I have a temperamental internet connection so here is two days of posting: Yesterday: Breakfast: 1/2c fiber one with 1/2c almond breeze, pb2 and an apple Lunch: romaine lettuce with a little ranch Supper: Jimmy johns turkey sub Snack: chocolate yogurt pudding. 1/2c fiber one. No exercise. 1175 calories, 165 carbs, 43 fiber 48oz water Today: Breakfast: 1/2c fiber one with 1/2c almond breeze, pb2 and an apple Lunch: romaine lettuce with a little ranch, 1/2 hamburger pattie Supper: sole fillet, portabella mushrooms, green beans oven roasted small potato Snack: chocolate yogurt pudding. 1/2c fiber one. 35 minutes strength training 1065 calories, 128 carbs, 57 fiber, 40oz water Oh friends.... How I LOATHE the scale. Marie, I always go for the protein... It makes me feel better. Lucinda, great weight loss and control! Tera, I am impressed with your regular gym attendance. Ok, I need to stop in at the main thread... Keep on Keeping on! Rie |
Rie, I believe it was the full moon causing extra gravitational pull toward the earth so our scales thought we were heavier. We should be loving the evil box soon. I just can feel it in my bones - just not feeling it in my fat cells. Great job on the calories both days.
Yesterday I finished the day at 1335 cals and I had ellipticalled in the morning. Today I started the day with a dog hike under the full moon. After work I will elliptical unless my beloved Kai Pixie Bear isn't feeling well after having her teeth cleaned today. If that is the case, I'll just settle on the couch with my husky in my lap. Marie |
Great calories Marie. I see you are managing to keep in angel mode. I am sure rich rewards are coming your way.
Rie-Good for you for getting back on track. Try not to sweat the scale. These things take time. Todays cals 1625 and 60 minutes of step class at the Y for exercise. I actually ate a piece of cake today that my co worker brought in but I didn't really enjoy it that much. I would rather lose weight. She wanted so badly to share though so I felt I had to have some. Oh well, at least it tasted good and it was just a small piece. Birthday cake is just part of life. |
i made my own tomato sauce and I did not put it on pasta. I dry roasted bite size chunks of eggplant seasoned with cumin and served the sauce over that with two hand fulls of arugula. so yummy and low in calories. that was dinner. In a few moments I will be having my 40 calories latte.
so when combining all my caloreis for the day 300 for breakfast, 360 for lunch, 250 for dinner and 40 that makes 950. |
Hi Friends!
This is my second attempt on the challenge thread for the day. I hope it goes through. Here is my eats for the day: Breakfast: 1/2c fiber one with 1/2c almond breeze and flax Lunch: onion, celery, zucchini with sweet chili sauce Supper: sole fillet, roasted cauliflower, green beans, white Zinfandel Snack: chocolate yogurt pudding. 1/2c almond breeze with flax 1 hour walkitout 1145, 137 carbs, 47 fiber 48oz water Marie, good job. Pamper Kai. Terapet, yes, Birthday Cake Happens!:D Lucinda, good as gold! OK, hoping this posts.... Later Rie |
I need some good energy sent my way. Please implore the Power that Be to help me and my DH move our bowels. What is up with that anyway! why was it when I was a horrible eater I emptied every day and now.... stingy!!
|
Tera, I agree that b-day cake happens. Life happens. I think there's no reason to deny yourself anything if you eat in portion control and not to excess. You did great and your co-worker was happy. A win-win.
Lucinda, your tomato eggplant concoction sounds divine. Great idea. I might steal it. The bowel problem is always with me when I'm in  mode. I think in :divil: mode there's so much more fat that it all slides through. Rie, good job on the eats. Your Sunday merriment is a fading memory for the evil scale. I ellipticalled this morning - on my Thursday day of rest because my sweet Kai was so needy last night after the vet and anesthesia. So I traded Thursday day of rest for Wednesday. After work I will be taking the pack out for a 1.5 mile hike up and down the hills. As the fog is lifting and it should be sunny, it will be a great walk. Yesterday's cals were at 1358. And the scale continues to be evil. Marie |
