Feeling Old

Just in case you weren't feeling too old today.

The people who are starting college this fall were born in 1991.

They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.

Their lifetime has always included AIDS.

The CD was introduced two years before they were born.

They have always had an answering machine.

They have always had cable..

Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.

Popcorn has always been microwaved.

They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.

They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.

They never heard: 'Where's the Beef?', 'I'd walk a mile for a Camel ', or 'de plane Boss, de plane'.

McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.

Pass this on to the other old fogies on your list.

Notice the larger type?

That's for those of us who have trouble reading.

P.S. Save the earth. It's the only planet with chocolate.

Oh dear! :faint: Now I really DO feel old, haha.

I had an assistant once who thought it was bizarre that I wore hose held up with a garter belt before pantyhose were invented, and that I watched the Beatles debut on the Ed Sullivan Show.

Hey, Jane, I could have written that! Hahahaha.

Re: popcorn ...

I remember blowing my kids minds a few years ago. They wanted popcorn and we were out of the microwave kind. BUT I happened to have a jar of regular popcorn in the pantry for some reason, pulled it out, popped a batch in a kettle on top of the stove, and voila! My boys, awestruck said: "I didn't know you could DO that!" :D

And then reflect back that there was no such thing as a microwave when I was a kid, or a personal computer ... we cooked dinner on the stove or in the oven, talked to people on the phone (with cord attached), TV had 4 channels and we didn't even HAVE a TV for a number of years .... like another planet! ;)

And DS#1 was born in 1991 and is in his first year of college, so I can particularly relate!
