Well I'm getting a late start since I just registered on the site, but I'll set a goal of losing 10 pounds by Labor Day, down to 250 from 260. I started at 298 about 3 months ago and have a long term goal of under 200, but short term goals are good!

I weigh in (in my bathroom) on Mondays and since I worked in the yard all afternoon Sunday I am down 3 pounds already, so I'm going to stretch a little to 245 by Labor Day instead of 250. I know most guys if they get off the couch they would look like Abe Lincoln in no time, but my problem is I am LAZY with a sweet tooth. Dave (1500cal) |
Welcome Dave! I understand about the sweet tooth and about the laziness too I guess. Hopefully I will get myself back to the gym soon again.

I ended June at 161, I started July at 162. I ended July at 159.5. I started August at 161 and ended it at 161. Too many days of getting off-plan. Haven't made much progress, have I? While it does not appear that I will make my goal of maintaining 159 or less I am not giving up. I figure anything good I do for myself is an achievement so I will keep trying. Our gs is here again so not sure how often I will be able to post but will when I can, and this will be my spot for Sept (at least until Labor Day).
9/1/09 162!! And I thought I did so well yesterday. 1451 calories, 13 carb servings. 9/2/09 161.5 9/3/09 162! This surprised me as I actually thought I would lose. Today has been a terrible eating day as we went on a day trip and ate out twice plus one snack! I did share with my dh but know I got too many carbs and calories still. 9/4/09 161.5 9/6/09 161.5 where is everyone? don't give up...look at me...I'm obviously not going to make my goal of maintaining 159.5 by tomorrow! LOL For some reason I could lose the 10 lbs but I cannot keep it off for the life of me...I know why...pretty simple, I am not sticking to my diet! I really need to get this part of my life under control! |

I really blew it this week going off diet. Mexican food with those fat-laden tortilla chips and salsa that keep mindlessly popping into your mouth,food drenched with all that lovely cheese; then a luscious peach cobbler; I cooked a ham and had fat ham sandwiches. HOWEVER, I did LOSE 0.4 pounds. Incredible. Back on points this week with vegetable soup to kick-start the weight loss again. |
Today is Labor Day and I have failed this challenge miserably. After a stressful June and July, I pretty much gave in to old eating habits in August.
OK - time to get back to building better eating habits again. Going to post a Halloween Challenge today. Lynn |
