I was up way too early this morning and consequently I just got up for the second time today. It's still very windy and very rainy around here -- but again, it's quite mild. I'd love to see the sunshine, but know it will bring the cold stuff with it. :halfempty Nothing much going on around my neck of the woods anyway. See you later, gang. |
Hello Everyone,
Just dropping by to say Hi & send the news from rainy, windy, snowy PA. My Little Sister had her baby - Anthony Liam Reyes Rosales. He's just 5 lbs. A tiny, beautiful, healthy little boy. I've been limiting my daily calories to under 1,000 and increasing my exercise and I'm down 2 lbs. I plan to keep this up until I get back to 148. Today began Week 3 of my 4-week course. University has been having system problems, but, otherwise, it is going well. Check back next week, Take care, Lynn |
Evening all....well snuck in fresh cauliflower and Dh again enjoyed his vegie. That and cukes/onions and he had 2 good servings. Should be another week of sneaking around with vegies and he'll back in the swing of eating properly. But then I'll be gone for the week.......sighhhhhhhhh!
Watched some of the baseball game last night and am still chilled. DD emailed that it was snowing in NJ. And DS in the Pocomos has had snow a couple of times. Gesh...thought there was gobal warming? We are having a cold front today and tomorrow with the temps at night around 40. But be back in 80's by the weekend. Great weather for walking and I have been out trotting around the neighborhood. The best thing I can say about MIL's is I learned from them how not to treat my kids and their spouses. I have been having a craving for hot chocoa. Any suggestions? That powdered Swiss Miss doesn't cut it. We used have it as kids made with chocoa powder and evaporated milk and boiling water. Seems like I'm missing something there? Of course then I will need a plate of fresh hot scones slathered in butter. Guess you can tell the unopened bags of Halloween candy are singing my song. Don't forget Saturday night we turn the clocks back. Well off to find something to sip and watch the sunset. Hugs, Karen3 |
Good Morning . . . :grouphug:
Still pretty mild and windy and overcast -- forecast for today is calling for a little sun and (as expected) falling temperatures this afternoon. Can't decide if this is good news (sun) or bad news (cold). :dunno: Definitely on the bad news front . . . weight is up again this morning, but the blood sugar is in great shape and that's good news. Oh well . . . I refuse to give up . . . one of these days, I will get this whole mess figured out. I also expect to eventually get used to this silly laptop keyboard too. BTW, I just set up the NOVEMBER ACCOUNTABILITY THREAD in the sticky area for anyone who is interested. See you all soon . . . |
Good Morning!
Quiet around here this am, probably one of the last days with 50+ temps. I'm going to hang out two loads of laundry and finish sewing my 10 year olds hockey sweat pants. He wanted 3 pairs, they take about 30 minutes total to make unless I add pockets. Meowee...sorry you had such a tough time this month in the accountability, but you'll get there once you get your body adjusted to the meds. I changed my goal from 130 to 127 just because the holidays are coming up. I want to be able to eat a little extra for Thanksgiving and not worry about jumping over my goal. Karen3...You said a mouthful, I definitely learned how not to treat my kids, grandkids too! We're going to put money aside to them long before we croak or go into a nursing home. Between MIL meds and rent on assist. living, she goes through $6,000+ a month. That doesn't cover her living expense, phone, blue cross/blue shield, medicare, etc. It's no wonder she'll be broke by next year. Quote:

:high: Karen31...where are you? Have a great day everyone................later. |
Hi all
Sorry I've not been able to stop in too often. Things are getting a little hectic at work so I actually have to do some for a change  Trying to conduct business as usual, during what is normally our busy season anyway, while trying to pack up and move an entire warehouse has it's challenges..... Gosh Bobbi, I'm so sorry to hear you are having such awful challenges with your MIL. I hope the change in meds will at least put her back in the present (even if it doesn't make her any nicer ;) ). Gotta run. Have a perfect day ladies :grouphug: |
Have a good sleep everyone. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Evening all....Just a quick note as I plan on shutting off everything from computer to tv until Wednesday. I am gonna pass a law that says that elections will start and finish in 6 weeks. I voted a week ago and am done. The phone has rung all night. The computer voice is even weary and stops halfway thru the message. Mean while am looking for an island with nothing/ well maybe my lovely Irish Lads.
YoYo....marshmellows! That was what was missing. I don't remember using sugar but must have as chocoa powder is bitter. Wonder what they put in it during the war when we had no sugar. Maybe I don't wanna know????? Sleep well...DH is going fishing in the morning and lucky me I have a dental appt for yearly check up.....hugs, Karen3 |
Good Morning!
Amen Karen3, great idea to limit it to 6 weeks. Quote:
Dr. Weil had the following message about mindful eating that I thought was interesting. Quote:
Have a great day  |
waa  , I had a nice long post that went into the Bermuda Triangle 'cause the server was too busy.......
Oh well, that's life on the internet. Have a fabulous day all :grouphug: |
Ha, ha. That Bermuda Triangle's got a few of my posts too.
Just a run by to say hi today. Got to go color my hair before I go out later on today. So gone to glam up. |
Morning all...Happy Halloween!
On the fly...started packing and broke a nail to the quick yesterday. Called and girl can do me this morning on the way to bridge. Have to go back to Petco and exchange 2 bags of dog snacks (Dash had 3 biscuits and literally rubbed all the hair off his ears). And be at the bridge table at 12n. Denist found 4 old fillings that should be replaced and a back molar he wants to cap. Having big debate with me. My mouth is so small that working in the back is awful. Last time I ended up with chair tilted so much that my hair touched the floor....think will have it pulled...with gas...don't wanna see or hear what's happening. Shivering think about it...... The boys did good yesterday. Caught a big Grouper. Wonderful eating. Got run....Hugs, Karen3 |
Happy Holloween Girls! :witch:
I wish someone would have kicked me in the butt last June when I seriously started my weight reduction war. EXERCISE, I hate exercising plus I thought I got plenty just working around the house + yard and chickens. I didn't include it in my plans until I hit one plateau after another for the month of September. I never cheated, stay low on calories but nothing worked. October accountability shows a big improvement because of simple dumbbells. (5 pounds each) I used to put off my daily exercising as long as possible. Then I ordered 3 laminated sheets of dumbbell upper body exercises. I go through one sheet a night, therefore I change the routine every 3 days then start over again on the 4th night. Repetition in anything gets boring very fast for me, but I actually look forward to doing these simple dumbbell exercises and that was the key to losing those last stubborn pounds in the month of October. I'm 63 and noticed the strength in my hands have deteriorated over the years, I'm thinking if I keep up with these upper body exercises, maybe I can gain back some of the lost muscle? Hope so. Quote:

Good Morning all, Ready for Halloween? Ready or not, it's here. i still have to go out and buy candy. I never get it untill the last min., because I eat and have to buy more. Took me a long time to get smart. We don't get a lot of trick-or-treaters so even the candy I do buy is left over sometimes. I buy things i don't like now too
Bobbi, Yes, you will be amazed at how quickly you make muscle. I'm 61 and at a recent picnic someone commented on how toned my arms looked. I've lifted wieghts when I couldn't do anything else, exercise wise. But, you're only supposed to lift every-other day. Karen, I hate the dentist too. Almost as much as doctors...well...maybe more. one of those necessary evils! Remember Tom Hanks on the island when his tooth got abcessed? Lynn, I know you will be very supportive for your "little sister" and the new baby. She's going to have a hard time now and can use a steadying force in her life. Just to encourage her to stay in school, if nothing else. YoYo, i've lost many post that went into the "triangle" Wonder if they will ever be found? Isabella, i could use a little color right now too. Some one is going to start thinking i'm not a natural blond soon. Make it a good day, Freda |
