Good Morning!
Karen31...I tried to watch your youtube sites but every few seconds the video would stop/start/stop/start? I found that same thing happening with any video's I try to watch. Any cp genie out there who can fix it?
Cat...What fun to buy new clothes. What did you eat out on the balcony?

I went nuts and got a dress and 4 shirts and 5 pairs of pants since I literally had NO fall or winter clothes left.

Bobbi, I love free time, but seldom get a few hours. 10 days would be heavenly. To read all day in my pajamas, eat what I wanted, when I wanted.....
That's the plan but I usually find something more important to do. I still haven't defrosted our meat freezer, will get to that today. I marinated all the last years roast two days ago and now I'm baking them in a huge roasting pan, will freeze later tonight. I went to the Library and checked out a book to read, it's an Oprah Club book called "Songs in Ordinary Time". I read one chapter this morning and I think it's going to be fantastic. Anyone read this one?

To all the Golden Girls, eat healthy and lets see that nasty old scale move down!

Kyle was a fairly well-behaved little boy in my particular section of north-eastyern Nova Scotia. He caused very little commotion and has now wandered off to sea. Wish I could say the same for my 'hed cod' which I am, unfortunately, still overfeeding with chocolate and pizza (). Guess I'm looking for something I can actually taste. Oh well, a whole new month will be rearing up very soon and I am really looking forward to another fresh start. September has not been one of my best months.

PS -- Just started the October Accountability Thread and I'll be looking forward to sharing the coming month's journey with all of you who are interested.

Hope everybody is having a great day.

Morning all

Sorry I've been AWOL. Took a couple of days off to rest my ankle and it seems to have worked. Swelling seems all gone although it's still a wee bit tender it's much less annoying than it was.

Hope all is well with everyone! Didn't have time to look at all the posts I missed but I'll try to get back a little later.

Thanks Meow for setting up the October Accountability thread, I also set up the October Golden Girls.
I hope I do better on the accountablility thread in October, I didn't lose much in September. I had two plateaus in a row, that sucks!

Tips on how to stay young by Chuck Swindall

Number one: Your mind isn't old, keep developing it. Watch less television and read more. Spend time with people who talk about events and ideas rather than sitting around a shop talking about people and how sorry this young generation has become. Nobody wants to be around a crotchety old person who sees only the clouds and talks only about bad weather.

Number two: Your humor isn't over, keep enjoying it. I love being around older people who still see the sunny side of life. They see funny things happening. They can tell a great story. They enjoy a loud belly laugh. You look fabulous when you laugh. And it takes years off your face.

Number three: Your strength isn't gone, keep using it. Don't let yourself get out of shape. Stay active. Eat right. Watch your weight. Guard against becoming isolated and immobile. And while I'm at it, quit addressing every ache and pain. Quit talking about how weak you're getting and how others will have to do this or that for you. Jump in there. You keep doing it.

Here's a fourth: Your opportunities haven't vanished, keep pursuing them. There are people all around you who could use an encouraging word, an affirming note, a phone call that says, "I love you and believe in you, and I'm praying for you." So go there. Opportunities to help others have not vanished.

Good Morning . . .

Happy to report a 210 this morning for an average in October of 211 so that's what I'm putting on my ticker. Only tracked properly for 19 days out of 30 and will go back in later to post today and do the averages for those days. Actually, I'm amazed to have any loss at all for September, but I'm taking it since it will help to gear me up for a great October.

Sunshine is beginning to break through around here and the Fall colours are also ramping up for splendid. I am feeling a little better although still sneezing and snuffling. Based on the "a cold lasts a week" theory, it will be miraculously gone by tomorrow morning.

The lawn guy was just here to do the Fall Fertilizing and Liming process and the cats had a wonderful time chasing him from window to window. Since the birds are also flocking (preparatory to heading South), they've been getting lots of excitement lately.

Have a great day, everybody . . . see you later.

PS -- great philosophy BOBBI . . . thanks for the inspirational post.
