Good Morning!
We have a gentle rain this morning. My cp desk is right next to a wide open window and the smell of rain is heavenly. Yesterday DH helped me cut up apples, I made 15 lbs. of applesauce. I hate wasting these organic apples but how much applesauce can a family eat? (We still have tons of them)We're not dessert eaters so making apple dessert and freezing would be for nothing. Does anyone have a good, easy apple juice recipe?
After I'm finished with this post, I think I'll pm Lynn and see if I can get a response.
Rosey...Now my dh is jealous of two 3ff's homes. He is a big game hunter and has been jealous of Karen's home in Colorado. She dutifully sends us pictures of the deer in her back yard. Now you have a bull moose, where's the pictures?

we also had a visiter in our yard today a small bull moose..its bow hunting season so he should have been hiding

Hi there gang . . .
I slept in again this morning and when I woke up at 7:30 am it was but that only lasted about 10 minutes and it's been overcast ever since. Guess the prediction for rain is going to come true today.
I never did get any sewing done yesterday . . . see below for what I did do . . . yep, I'm back up to six cats. Although since the other five are presently 'in-hiding' with their collective noses all out of joint about the newcomer, it's kind of like little Sandy is my only cat right now. I know the others still exist since the kitty litter needed the normal attention first thing this morning. Cats do not like change, but I imagine this will settle down soon. In a way, this is an improvement. Yesterday afternoon was filled with a lot of hissing and growling and posturing; so this is definitely quieter.
You all inspire me, you know . . . I sometimes think my life is hectic but compared to what some of you are going through, it's really quite boring and easy to handle . . . best of luck for continued good results for all of you . . .
Here's SANDY . . .

Good Morning! Linda, Sandy is really pretty! I'm sure the others will decide that she/he will be staying and they will accept her in time. I know Ginger probably keeps thinking, "Isn't it time for Sissy to go home" Ginger was an only dog for 2 years. But they do get along great and I love to watch them when they get in their chase mood!!
Bobbi, the house is still for sale so you and DH can sure come and buy it then you too can have Pikes Peak in your front yard!!! LOL!!
Take care!!

Hi everyone! I have been gone for a while, but I have lost 10 pounds! For me motivation comes from my family and reviewing the goals I have set. When I get down and discouraged, I get back to looking at all I have to be thankful for and what I need to do to accomplish my goals - one step at a time!
I am getting ready to head back to school and I hope that I can take everything that I have done this summer and keep it up. Exercise and smart meal planning is the key
Thank you all for your support!

My, it's been pretty active here since yesterday. Everyone seems busy and occupied with interesting things.
Today, I ordered a new kitchen stove from Sears. I have a small kitchen and use a 24" range to save a little space and they are hard to come by. Sears had the perfect one for me with a self-cleaning oven. I've never had a self-cleaner before but at my age I think I need it now. It's just a regular coil top but it has a good delay cook timer that is broken on my old stove. It will be here in two weeks and I can't wait for it to get here.
I also ordered some books for my new grandbaby to come. That's the teacher in me!!
Gotta go ride my exercise bike. Wish I could ride a real one. (long story) Oh, well...can't do much damage on the stationary bike.

Evening all....It is almost dark. It has drizzled all day. You can hear the grass growing. This crazy week is still in over drive. Have everything ready for guest breakfast tomorrow morning. Come on down everyone....having apple omelets. Using splenda so will be OP. Sound weird but are fabulous. Sautee slices of apple, sugar and cinnamon when soft. Make regular omelet adding apples before folding. I'll do a hugh one pan omelet for 4 people. Have to serve it on my pizza dish....
Had the strangest dinner. Had cranberry glazed grilled amber jack. Fish and cranberry have never been in my mouth at the same time before. Not bad...okay sort of....no won't order again. Like either/or.
Still searching for the horse trailer for DD....Dh called a local number and when answered the girl was over in Jacksonville in a 3 block long waiting to audition for American Idol. Have no idea what her talent is but if a Morgan wins...That's her!
Linda....The new baby is lovely. 6 Cats! OMG!
Bobbi...Have you heard back from Lynn? Used to can apple slices...wonder if you could freeze them and use in omelets?
YoYo....been missing you....
Where's Cat?
Still afraid that this is gonna eat my reply....everytime I fix somethig some else goes weird. Sighhhhh, when I come back in my next life am gonna be computer smart and have long legs......hugs, Karen3

No, nothing yet from Lynn. I think I'll try your apple omelet, we have 6 golden Orpington hens that produce 2 dozen or so eggs a week and I'm always looking for new ideas to use them up. Thanks!

Hi there . . .
Looks like we are finally going to see some mostly sunny days -- at least a few in a row, even.
Other than that -- nothing new and different around here -- cats are still trying to sort things out.
Have a great one, gang . . .

Calling all Zucchini Queens!
I can't give our Zucchini away fast enough, I found one person that said she'd take everything I don't want. She freezes it to use this winter but I didn't think to ask her how she does it. I googled it and all recipes say to "blanch" it first. I don't want to do that, too much work. I haven't frozen it in the past because we don't eat sweets much. I did make some chocolate zucchini bread that DH loved so I thought I'd freeze the exact amount the recipe calls for. Who has good luck with freezing zucchini? One person said it gets watery when you thaw it out, do you put the water and all in the recipe or squeeze it out? I'm open for any suggestions.

It's pretty good eaten raw, especially when used as a dipper. I have a recipe for relish -- haven't made it in years and years (haven't been overrun with the things since I moved here) -- I'll take a look for it if you are interested.

Morning ladies, It started raining yesterday and has continued to rain all night. We really needed it, so i'm not complaining. It has remained cool too. Just might get my umbrealla out later and take a walk in the rain.
Linda. Congratulations on the new addition. Lovely!
Bobbi, I love the sound and smell of rain too. Wish I lived a little closer. I would love a few of those organic apples.
YoYo, Honey, you might be a lot of things, but BORING was never one of them. Come visit more often, I miss your wit!
Isabella, I bet you can't ait to get thoat new stove and start baking! And the self cleaning oven is a lifesaver. That was always my one dreaded chore. I love buying books for the Grands too. So many really great ones to choose from!
Karen, set a plate for me, I'll be down in time for breakfast. The pancakes sound yummy!! Too good to be low calorie!
Everyone, make it a good day, Freda

Good Morning!
My scale this morning was at 140.5, 1 pound to go before hitting the 130's, I'll let my guard down and have some coconut cream pie or something outrageously gooey to celebrate. Until then I'll have to be careful, especially this coming Sunday. We're having a family reunion and nobody brings healthy dishes. There will be tons of casseroles made with cream of mushroom soup, yuk! Since I have so much zucchini, I'll bring 2 loaves of Chocolate Marble zucchini bread. I made some yesterday and DH has 1/2 of the loaf eaten, he said it was excellent. I didn't eat any, I know better.
Meowee...Yes, dig up the recipe. We eat dill relish all the time, is it like that or sweet?

I'm going to email Lynn and see if I can get a response, I have her address around somewhere.
Karen3...DH was too tired to stoker up the grill last night so we had omelets, I was going to try your Apple concoction but forgot. I do have a recipe that calls for grated zucchini, cinnamon, sugar, eggs, etc. for making pancakes. Maybe topping the pancakes with apples would be good, I'll try it.
I have a haircut scheduled today, better get moving. Have a good one everyone.
P.S. I'll get back to you if I hear from Lynn. Hope she's well.

Morning all..Wrote half a page and another storm knocked me off line. We had a doozie last nite. Have a lamp that turns on by touch and the thunder was so strong it kept turning the light on/off. Dash had to be bounced twice.
Freda...the breakfast was an apple omelet not a pancake. You can make it with egg whites. It tastes good enough to be sinful.
Bobbi...how about apple sauce/zucchine bread? That freezes forever. I have never had much luck freezing zucchine except as bread...there is so much water in it it gets mushy.
I can not wait until Saturday. I am doing nothing! Today have house to clean, nails at noon and cook for tomorrow. Have been on a run for 10 days now. Need some me time!
Storm starting up again...later. karen3
