"Evening Chickies
Thank you all for the support and prayers for our friends, who lost their daughter in the car accident. Her memorial service was attended by more than 150 people. Her father, our friend Steve, gave a beautiful eulogy. They played all of Lindsay's favorite songs, plus her friends read original poetry that they had written in her honor. The minister's kind words were comforting to the family. He had known Lindsay since she was young. It was a very moving, emotional but beautiful tribute.
I truly appreciated the support and special chickie and go out to Freda, Isabella, Meowee, and Pampgal.
Isabella, I will pray for your friend who has the tumor and for his family . I'm sorry for your loss a few years back of your nephew . It is so hard to see young people die.
Pampgal, I hope that your DD is out of the hospital soon. I had two thyroid surgeries myself in the last 9 months. I hope she is back on her feet soon.
Bobbi thanks for all the tips. I hope that your DGS is back on track soon. When our now 9 year old DGS would drive his parents crazy as a 4 year old, he'd be sent to our Boot Camp . Of course he was as sweet as pie and never misbehaved. It made them crazy to know that. I told them that if your child behaves appropriately for all others and in school and saves the shenaigans for his parents... then your are doing a good job. Kids always make their own parents crazy.
Karen 3 enjoy that pretty 17 " screen.
Rosey welcome back. I'm new since June. You are an inspiration. Keep up the good work and I'll keep your recovery in my prayers.
Thank you all again for the support.
Eileen

Good morning all. Not sure what the weather is supposed to be like today-possibly rain as it looks overcast right now but I could be wrong.
Eileen, glad to see you back. I was thinking about you and the family this week. I missed you posting in the Accountability thread and knew you were involved with your mourning friends.
I weighed in this morning and lost 2.5 pounds this week. I also changed my beginning weight on my signature to reflect my actual weight loss. I lost 10 pounds from January to March and the remainder since joining 3FC. You see what an encouraging support group can do? Thanks for all your help everyone.

Good Morning . . .
Slept in this morning -- weight is down, BGL is up -- always seems to be the way it goes.
Other than that SSDD -- weather is overcast and damp but temperature is okay -- going to be a mostly inside kind of day as I reaslly want to get some of these aprons done (now up to 7 needed and 2 finished). For the latest request I have to quilt some fabric first. Wonder how I get myself into these things sometimes. Oh well, lots of Christmas presents done by the time I get finished.
Hope everybody has great weather and a really fun Saturday . . .

Good Afternoon gang!
I've been in bed most of the day with a migraine, a really bad one. It started 19 hours ago and the pain is just now easing up. I remembered an article I cut out on a non chemical way to get rid of headaches. I made a cup of this concoction about an hour ago and the pain is just about gone. I don't know if the migraine had run its course or if the Rosemary did the trick. This is the recipe:
Brew Up Some Rosemary
Rosemary helps keep blood vessels dilated. Use 1 teaspoon of rosemary per cup of hot water, cover, and steep for 10 minutes. Strain, and sip a cup three times a day. (I grow many of my own herbs so I just snipped off 2 inches off the top of the plant and threw in the water to steep)
I'd like to comment on the Accountability thread and how well you're doing. I can only comment on those that have their weights down so don't take offense if I don't name you.
Meowee... Good job, down 3.5 looks like you broke the pattern.

Pufffin...down about 5?
Eileen...great job for June/July and down 2 for August.
Isabella...down 2.5
Karen31..you don't have your weight down but I know you've lost 2 lbs. also.
DH is grilling chops on the grill, gotta go. I hope I can eat them, I've eaten very little today, my accountability spot will have very low calories but I can't help it.
Have a good one!

Hello all ... I've lost a good month on this site as my computer decided to spend most of July in the repair shop. I was pounding on my desk screaming "What happened to Apple quality?!?" (There's an image for you ... ) First the power source burnt out and two weeks later the hard drive died! However, Apple gave me an exemption (the computer was out of warranty and paid for parts and labour for replacement of the hard drive, so I have to take back all the nasty things I was saying about them while the computer was non-functional ...
I've also lost a month doing anything about my weight. Things at my workplace have been getting worse and worse, and it shows no signs of letting up. We were already understaffed and now we've lost another staff member, which is going to triple my workload on Fridays until we get a replacement body (which probably means the next two months or so).
I've decided I must to get back to the gym if for no other reason than to deal with the stress. I took the two remaining gift certificates from my company from last Christmas and went out and bought a few more pairs of pants for exercising (I only have one pair that fit at the moment, LOL). I've found my battered, faded copies of the exercise program I was following back when I was still going -- and tomorrow I start again.
Karen, sorry about your computer eating your post. That's so frustrating!
Bobbolink, sorry to hear about your migraine. Thanks for passing along the recipe -- I'll keep it on hand for future use at work, LOL!
Meowee and retiredone, congratulations on the weight loss! Meowee, I hope your BGL levels out. Seems like it's either one thing or the other, doesn't it?
The wind is picking up and I think we're on the verge of another rainstorm. This has been quite a damp summer -- not that you'll hear me complaining as I love any weather that doesn't involve blazing sun and/or wet-blanket-like humidity. It is a bit embarrassing, though, as the newspaper I work for printed an article back in the spring about how this was going to be a DRY hot summer ...
I hope everybody is having a good weekend!

Welcome back CatHouseLady. Sounds like you've had quite a month but I'm sure getting back to exercising can only help with the stress and of course contribute to your weight loss. Hope to see you again.

Thanks, retiredone. I'm determined to do stick with it this time -- both the site and the exercise.

Glad you found your way back CATHOUSE . . .
And a big good morning for everybody else, too.
Well . . . somedays you've just got to wonder what's going on . . . I was OP yesterday and my 2 pounds came back as a reward Hey, I'll just keep plodding along and eventually being OP will pay off.
Weather is about the same as yesterday -- overcast and might just give us some more rain. It did rain quite a bit last night. Off to get a few groceries and then back home for some more aprong sewing I guess -- yesterday's count was wrong since I forgot the original 4 I did for the kids, so that takes me to 11 needed of which 7 are now completed (finished the quilted one yesterday). Still have enough fabric for 1 more, so just might have to make it an even dozen and then convince my oldest son he was definitely in need of a BBQ apron for next summer. If not the fabric is going to sit there and haunt me.
Hope everybody has a great Sunday . . .

I feel your frustration. Both my DSs work with computers for a living and the youngest is still at home so I call on him quite frequently. Mostly I get help with his eyes rolling up in his head as if to say, "Can't you figure this out by yourself?" Computers and sons!!!

Morning.........Last fall my computer went weird on me, I lost the ability to find my files, couldn't do email, etc. They all disapeared off the screen. The computer shop was backed up for 7 or 8 days and I knew I'd not survive without one so I purchased a laptop. I hated it, I didn't like running my finger over the screen. I know you can hook them up to a keyboard but that kind of takes the ease of traveling with them. I boxed it all back up and threw it into a closet where I wouldn't have to look at it. I kicked myself many times for buying it. Then a small miracle happened for our daughter, she was in need of a laptop and didn't have the cash to buy one. She was awe struck when I told her I have a new one in my closet. (I used it while waiting for my cp to come back from shop so it was used about 1 week) So it was a blessing that I purchased it, DD has it sitting on her kitchen table and it's so easy for her to check email, work projects, etc while in the kitchen cooking. Any of you do rash things that you've kicked yourself for?
Have a good one!

Good afternoon chickadees...am attempting to post a longer note. No go Advance and hopefully you will be able to read my tome. Am in the middle of snack making, the carrot cake with pineapple, coconut, walnuts and raisens is done and cooling. Found it easier to transport uniced. 24 mini ham'ncheese on wee rolls are in the cooler. Oyster crackers covered in dry Hidden Valley ranch dressing powder is bagged and packed. 5 roll ups with olives and cream cheese packed and waiting to be sliced tomorrow. Vegies with dip are in the cooler.....yeah I have ice in there, too! Gonna make the chicken'cuke sandwiches in the am. But chicken is cooked. Think might do a few roast beef with bleu cheese too....Have a honeydo and fresh pineapple to slice up and put out half way thru the day. Only thing left to do today is the cukes. Did 2 loads of wash while in kitchen and even folded the darn stuff. That and shopping this am I feel like it must be bedtime. My clock is wrong has to be later than 3pm! I admit to eating one raisen and several sheds of cocnut that were on the counter. Am wearing so much cream cheese that if it seeps thru my skin I am in big diet trouble....nah, wonder if it can be used as facial...feels greasy enough.
Bought a box of pasta salad and debated cooking that up....would look nice with cukes on one side of my new bowl. Sounds like a plan.
Eileen...I said yesterday that your friends have been in my prayers. You just never recover from lossing a child. So my prayer has been for a little lessing of their pain.
Catlady...welcome back. Post and do the accountabilty and get back in your groove.
Isabella...DS was here and they went over my old computer showing me what was wrong. Actual problem was it was old and senile. Much eye rolling and laughing at me. Had me wishing that you could still spank them!
Linda...must be the moon tides. DH's BS are going up and falling like mad. I have been home so i know he isn't cheating.
Bobbi...Everytime we have moved I have carted off tons of stuff to GoodWill,etc....then 6 months later go out and replace just what I gave away. Moved all my mother's household stuff to Md which I had stored for 20years and when we moved to Princess Anne refused to move it again....so gave it away. 6 months later DD needed everything. I have recently given the last of my Fat Clothes away.....I will not need them ever. Waiting for this size to go into donation box.
Lynn...wonder where she is? She has so many projects she should be home soon starting a new class.
Cat...we need an update on babies.
Angel...welcome home.
think I am pushing my luck here...will post with fingers crossed. Back to the kitchen...hugs, Karen3
