Hey, it's really nice to see some of our missing-in-action posters! Greetings to flowingair--glad we didn't lose you!

the slim me, I didn't have any trouble getting on the site last week, but I do know that sometimes the site is busier than others, and one can have a problem...

We're in the process of having a part ordered to fix our A/C unit. The heat pump died last winter, and rather than have it fixed then, we've been waiting until it's the slower season. We used the auxilliary heat the rest of the winter. (Yes, it does get cold enough in Florida in the winter that you do want to have the heat on sometimes.) But the auxilliary heat is essentially some coils that look like an old toaster plus a fan that blows the air through them and into the house. Anyway, it's going to cost us... but nothing like a new A/C costs.

I'm not feeling well today; neck ache, headache. Feels like I ought to skip the gym and take a nap instead... Maybe I'll do that...

Hope you all have an active weekend planned!

Jay

Hi all - hope you are having a GREAT weekend! Got lots of church activities today, so this is a quick fly-by.

Weight is holding at 129.2 this week

Northern MI is a great place to live in the summer - I just love our weather in July. DS2 is moving home today - mixed feelings about that, honestly. But, it will be nice to have someone to help with chores

Hi to all, Jay I understand how it is to wait on parts that was part of the issue with my computer. How hot is it today in Florida?. In Michigan we're in the high 70's low 80's, it's a beuatiful sunny day, and we love it. Our summers could last a least a month longer.

I've been struggling this last month. Every time we get visitors my will power seems to stray. I think being back on line should really help out. I'm always looking for good ideas.

I'm eating dinner earlier and that seems to help keep my calorie count down

Morning . . .

About all I did yesterday was try to sleep to escape the migraine from H***. since I couldn't even stand the noise of the A/C or dehumidifier, the house got rather muggy, too. This morning -- no headache so I can turn on my noisy appliances again and get the house a little more bearable. Hopefully I can get a lot more than sleeping done today, too.

See you later . . .

Hi everyone! I made it safely to MD and it hasn't been that bad at all. There was a cookout with loads of high calorie stuff, but there was also grilled chicken breast and string beans (I did have one crab - yummy). I even skipped the cake and pies!

My mom and grandmom were so surprised and said that they could really see I have lost weight - you guys do not know what that means to me. I feel so energized to finish this coming week!

I just wanted to encourage you all .....and Jay, I hope you feel better soon and I agree about those A/C costs...UGH!

Take care!

sgibson1626! Good for you!

Glad to hear that the visit went so very well! And that you found foods that were weight-loss-friendly and skipped those desserts!

Yep, we really can get through these occasions and stick to program close enough.

Well, it's really hot here today, and muggy to go along with it. Right now the thermometer temp is 87 and the heat index is 94. Humidity is 66% It will get hotter, and then it might rain. Won't cool off much, though.

CountingDown, BELOW goal!

meowee, I hope that headache stays far away! I'm feeling better the last couple of days--went to the gym yesterday and did a light workout. Today I have a massage... heavenly... and will go to the gym later.

flowingair, I hope your plan is working better today. Sometimes all it takes is a few days being strictly on the program to help get into the groove.

I did get all the floors cleaned yesterday, which makes me very happy.

Enjoy your Sunday, folks!

Jay

Hi all - just checking in Another beautiful day here in MI. We will try to get some siding on the shed this afternoon. The outdoor projects are going really well this summer. I'm thinking that losing 160 lbs between the two of us probably has a LOT to do with that.

Jay - glad you are feeling better! I don't envy you that heat - I would be a ragdoll camped in front of the air conditioner! Congrats on getting the floors cleaned. I need to clean the carpets one of these days, but I'm waiting until DS2 gets all of his stuff moved home.

Linda - glad you are feeling better. Migraines are the WORST. I don't get them often, but when I do ...

sgibson - Congrats!!!! Way to go at the BBQ. It IS hard to pass up desserts - especially if they are homemade. And folk noticing your weightloss - that is the BEST!

flowingair - glad you are getting back on track. I struggle when my routine is broken too. I'm glad you got your computer working again - it is great to have you posting here again!!!!

Hope you all had a fun and restful weekend!

Hi to all, Thanks for all your words of encouragement. I went biking yesterday and Kayaking today. The exercise is really helping me get back on target.
Meowee-I hope you're feeling better. Migranes are awful. I only get them occasionally, but have sisters that get them all the time. Hope you're feeling better.

Good Morning ladies, The weather here in Michigan has been just about perfect this weekend. Spent Saturday at the baseball field watching the grandkids play ball. Fun day. We know all the people now and it's a nice just setting around catching up.

Jay, Hope you're feeling better. Exercise is great, but some times our bodies just tell us they need a rest. The massage should have you up and running again.

Sgib, Good for you for managing to get through a social occasion and stay on plan. It's not always easy, but it's doable and you feel so good and victorious when you do it!!! And remember, that is not the last time you will see those desserts. You will be able to eat them again, if you choose, when you are at goal. You're just chosing different priorities right now.

Flow, Good to see you. Wow! Biking and kayaking! you will be back in shape in no time with exercise like that. I like to get my exercise in fun ways too, but not always possible. But it makes it so much easier to do!

Laurie,Hope you enjoy having your son back home. All too often they come back home and resort back to childhood, expecting mom to do all the work. Good to set some ground rules early so everyone can enjoy the stay. You are awsome for keeping the weight off!!! I know i lost 2 pounds below goal weight too. I got down to 113, which is lower than i wanted to go, because i think you always have problems stabalizing the weight loss for awhile. I'm still down there, so I'm ok. i've gained a pound back but lost it and seem to be stabalized here.

everyone, make it a good day, Freda

Good Morning, gang . . .

Running a little late today, so I'd better get myself moving and shaking before it gets any hotter . . . hope to get back later.

Hi all,

I woke up this morning with the headache from Hades... meant I had dropped a pound... Gee, soon I'll be back to my S/C weight! It's pretty much gone away now--I think I killed it with caffeine.

Bad news on the work front--a project I have been really enjoying has been extended 18 months out, so my services are no longer needed on it at this time. Bummer. Brings me down.

So... I should have time to catch up with all kinds of things.

Jay - sorry to hear about the work project - but the lb. loss is AWESOME!!!!

Linda - I will try to send some nice weather your way. Freda is right - MI weather is GLORIOUS right now!!!!

Freda - thanks for the wise counsel. Yes -we are trying to set some ground rules. And it is hard. But, we are making progress. I'm always the optimist looking for the silver lining. I am hopeful that we can make this work.

Flowingair - WOW - great job with the exercise!!! Way to go!

I hope to have more time to post tomorrow. Time for bed - 5:30 comes early, and I don't want to miss my "ME TIME" - pilates is on the agenda for tomorrow morning.

Blessings to all!

Good Morning, Looks like another lovely day. But, i'm buying school supplies and that means school time is just around the corner. Seems like it just got warm....wait....here in Michigan it did! Went bike riding with the grandkids yesterday and to the park later in the day, so got lots of exercise. In addition to running around in the yard with water guns like a crazy person. Fun ways to get all my exercise. I did get my weights in there too. It takes so little time and I get such good results. To you that haven't started yet, I highly recomend it!

Jay, Hope you're feeling better. Congratulations on the weight loss!!! Sorry about the project. I hope something else interesting turns up soon.

Laurie, I didn't know you did pilates. Do you take a class or use a tape? It's really supposed to help with strenghtening and flexability too. I'm always interested in trying new things.

Make it a good day, Freda

I seem to be having one of those yucky days when absolutely nothing wants to go right . . . . . . so I won't drag you down with the details.

Have a fun one, gang.
