Evening all...Just a quick fly by. Have been reading everything every evening and keeping up with my Accountabilty, but living life in the fast lane for another 2 weeks. The DH and I are running away to Destin for a long weekend. They call that area The Emerald Coast. Teal blue water and white sands!

Linda...Thank you for checking up on me about Fiber. I knew that with so few potty stops I didn't dare push the fiber and not get enough water. Wow,I'd be set in cement for sure. Will go back to increase Fiber August 1st.

Dh fixed the scale and even made a safety cage to keep Dash away. So don't have to start anew. Phew! Still dry and still carrying that umbrella.

Take care all...hugs, Karen3

Wow, is it ever quiet here today. I'm at my son's place which is well connected to the internet with at least 3 computers and 2 extra my youngest son and girlfriend brought along with them. I was so pleased to find a new exercise bike here that DS had bought this winter. It's so much nicer than my old clunker that I told them all they could get me a new one for Christmas. I also got in a walk yesterday and today and I'm watching my calories and so far so good.

Bobbi, thanks for the little note of encouragement in the accountability thread. I was scanning through looking at everyone's entries and almost missed your message but I'm glad I read it.

Karen3, hope your DH is feeling better. That was quite a jump in the blood sugar.

Tomorrow my daughter-in-law's mother wants me to help her make rhubarb jam. So I know I'm going to be chopping rhubarb for about an hour or so. Does that count as exercise?

Do some "counter-squats" as you chop . . .

It is quiet around here, but hopefully things will pick up again soon. Looks like another beautiful sunny and comfy day for northern Nova Scotia. I'm just waiting for my hair to dry (just got out of the shwower) and then I am going out to play.

Hope everybody else has a great day, too . . .

Did my car on friday and it took 1.5 hours...not as long as dh's.
Sorry that I have not been here for you all..have been really busy because next sunday I leave for 3 weeks of vacation. I go to WI to be with my brother and then dh flies in and we go to IN to be with his family. Then we go to MI to be with our dd, then back to WI to fly home.
I have so much to do what with cleaning the house and packing and making sure things are taken care of for our furbaby. We will have a pet/house sitter. We have had her doing it for a few years. I will be glad to just be on the road.

'Morning Chickies

Back from the two day training I attended for work. Also spent time with oldest DD who lives near where I attended the workshops... fun

Yesterday helped her to do heavy housecleaning and gardening
(5hrs, worth ) whew ... accomplished a lot. The house is going up for sale in 2 weeks due to her divorce. Her ex came over and helped with some painting tasks too.

Food got a little off course yesterday but all the activity balanced it out.

Lost 4 lbs. this week, which means a grand total of 20 lbs. since 6-1-08. I so blessed that my body really responds to activity.

Angel, have a wonderful vacation and family time, sounds wonderful. Glad that you have joined us.

Keep well all of you chickie

Hey Ladies!!!!!

Had some rare extra time this afternoon and popped in to say hi, catch up a bit with what is going on with everyone!

It's been a very hectic but great summer. I've been working very early in the mornings to get it over with and taking the rest of the day and just playing and running the streets!

Went to a "Summer of Love" concert on the 3rd that was amazing. Jeffereson Starship, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Big Brother and Holding Company and It's a Beautiful Day. David Laflamme doing "White Bird" was amazing and then he informed the audiance he was now 70!! The music brought back lots of great memories.

My husband is working 4-10's now so we are trying to do as much on his days off and having fun. I'm dreading the summer being over and school starting. Still don't know if I will have a full time teaching position or will be in the computer lab.

I started Jillian Michael's 30 minute shread last week and it's a killer, but I'm seeing some Tummy results already that I'm happy with, so I guess it's worth it.

Good Morning Ladies, It looks like we have another lovely day here. Yesterday was warm but we had a nice breeze all day, so not uncomfortable at all. My eating was a bit off last night. Hubby brought home corn chips. He KNOWS I can't have them in the house. But I am a big girl and they were his. We can't dictate what other people eat.

CAT, so good to see you again. And you look wonderful!! I love the oldies concerts too. We've had a couple in the parks around here. I have such a good time. Then i realize how old they are and how old that makes me!! I'll have to look into the Jillian Michaels exercise. I am still doing great but the tummy is always a problem!

Eileen, ANOTHER 4 lb.? Girl you are doing great!!! Yes, hard work is exercise, wherther it's at home digging or at the gym. And it sure seems to be working for you.

Angel, Enjoy your vacation. Where are you going to in Michigan?

Isabella, How did your rubarb jam turn out? I just got a new exercise bike too. My son and DIL were going to throw it out! It was one of those really nice ones too. You can find exericse equipment at garage sales so cheap. People buy it and realize they aren't going to use it and sell it for nothing hardly.

Karen, enjoy your vacation.

make it a good day, Freda

Good Morning!
We also have a beautiful day in store, I have to help out my daughter at the school this morning. She will be registering pupils for the upcoming science camp and needs me to help with listing all the food allergies of the students. Unbeliveable how many kids are allergic to red food dye, peanut butter, wheat, dairy products, etc. As a kid growing up in the 50's, we ate everything and nobody ever got sick.
What about all you, who has allergies, who has children with allergies and who has grandkids with allergies?
Freda... You said DH brought home corn chips but did you eat some?

Hi Everyone,

I haven't weighed myself since last Thursday. This is the longest I've gone without a daily scale in my life that I can remember. I'm trying to hold out until Thursday.

Rainy day here in PA. My DD & I are going to a luggage store sale. Then, maybe, I'll see my Little Sister. Tomorrow is scrapbooking day.

Have a Happy Monday,

Lynn

I'm not allergic to any foods - once in a while, mushrooms don't agree with me - I think it must be a particular kind bc sometimes I'm fine with them.

However, I'm allergic to LOTS of soaps/shampoos/deodorants. Only kind of deodorant I can use is the Crystal stick that you get in health food stores.

I have hay fever and am allergic to a couple of medications.
We will be staying in coldwater MI with our dd. I will also be in milwaukee WI and bedfore IN. I leave next sunday and I am so excited. I will be leaving before dh and staying with my brother and neice. I am so looking forward to it and I know my brother is excited. He has the days, hours and minutes down until I get there. LOL. Will be cleaning and packing this week.

Good Morning . . .

It really isn't that great around here though -- both the humidity and the heat are on the rise again and we have rain in the forecast. Additionally, both my weight and my blood sugar decided to be on the rise too.

Furthermore I got up to two bits of overnight cat damage -- picture knocked off the wall and the glass broken; and the threads pulled out of my serger (my own fault for not covering it last night). If any of you use a serger, you know it usually takes a good hour to rethread the stupid things; at least that's true for my Pfaff.

Oh well . . . all this will calm down again . . . in the overall scheme of things, this is hardly a ripple.
