Happy 4th Of July To All My American Friends! Hope you have a great holiday weekend.

DH is going to paint the dining room today so things are going to be back to normal (whatever that is) by this evening. Might even get the curtain rod hung when the paint dries.

My brother-in-law has been grounded from flying for 5 days following his bout of illness so they had to reschedule the flight for Tuesday. The doctor thinks he had some kind of reaction to the mussels he ate. Good thing the rest of the family didn't react the same way.

Welcome Kelly. This is a marvelous site for those who take advantage of its help. The support is awesome.

Good Morning to all . . . . . . and a very Happy 4th of July to all of my buddies on the south side of "the longest unguarded border in the world". Hope you have a really great day.

Somehow, the eye did not miraculously clear up overnight; but my excessive salty food intake did not (yet) result in either puffy ankles or a weight gain Another bit of good news is that although it will be hot today, the humidity is going to be quite a bit more tolerable. I do think I'll be sticking close to home even though this is the start of our annual Lobster Carnival weekend. We are overrun by Yankies for this event every year since it usually coincides with a nice long weekend for you guys, and I don't want all our visitors to think we have a bunch of outer-space zombies up here.

See you later . . .

Good Morning Everyone! I weighed this morning and I did end up keepng the 3 pounds that I gained over vacation this week. So I have changed my ticker and am ready to get back to business!! We have another couple scheduled to see the house at 10:00 this morning so I am just taking a few minutes here before I do a run through with the vacuum cleaner.

I haven't done my 3FC 5K yet but I will get that in sometime today!! I am so determined!!! By this afternoon the rains may come again so it may be done on the Gazelle or the treadmill but it will get done!

Have a Great day and a Happy and Safe 4th of July!!

Happy 4th all....The dog will go crazy tonight barking at the fireworks. He actually chases after them when they shoot them around the neigherhood. We keep waiting for him to fall into the canal running watching the sky.

They announced that all police officers in the state were working patrol today. So drove at the speed limit or a tad below. Never saw a cop. Hope they are out to get the drunks later.

I have done well with increasing my fiber intake this week, but must have needed more water than I took in.....hmmmmmmm....My dessert tonight was prune juice. Thought about adding vodka but then my tummy really did a roll.

Karen...Did they come back with a counter offer or just the low ball? Hope this 2nd couple falls in love and you get the whole thing as a done deal!

Have a safe holiday everyone, Hugs, Karen3

Good Morning . . .

Well . . . I finally found that salt gain I was expecting yesterday . . . but only a pound. Hopefully it will go away again soon.

As strange as this may sound from a Canuk like me -- I had a wonderful 4th of July, and really enjoyed all the fireworks. Yes, I live in a tourist town and this weekend we have a lot of Americans in town for the annual Lobster Carnival weekend so we gave them fireworks to celebrate. And, to the best of my knowledge, nobody fell into the harbour. Believe me, it has happened in the past.

Hve a great day, everybody . . . I'll see you all later.

Good Morning!
I have the last three months of Prevention magazines that have accumulated and left unread. This morning I decided to be lazy and catch up on at least one issue, May. I cut out some information I'll share over the next few days. The cover has a featured story of 16 new Home cures. One of them is something I've heard before and worth mentioning again.
The Worst Place to Set you Handbag "The Kitchen Counter" Your fancy handbag is a major tote for microbes: Gerba and his team's swabs showed up to 10,000 bacteria per square inch on purse bottoms...and a third of the bags tested positive for fecal bacteria!
A woman's carryall gets parked in some nasty spots: on the floor of the bus, beneath the restaurant table...even on the floor of a public bathroom. Put you bag in a drawer or on a chair, Gerba say...anywhere except where food is prepared or eaten.
Speaking of bathrooms, here's another one. The Worst Stall to Pick in a public restroom: The one in the Middle. The center stall has more bacteria than those on either end, according to unpublished data collected by Gerba. No, you won't catch an STD from a toilet seat. But you can contract all manner of ills if you touch a germy toilet handle and then neglect to wash your hands thoroughly.
I personally have seen many women use the John and whisk out the door without washing their hands, YuK!! Our Wal*Mart has self flushing toilets, otherwise I use toilet paper or foot to flush the public toilets. I also use my used paper towel to open the bathroom door when exiting. DH does the same thing.
Have a germ free holiday everyone

Oh Rosey,

I am SOOO sorry to hear about this. How awful for you. This is NOT the way you want to lose weight. Glad you are back with us. I missed you.

I re-learned 2 things by going back to last year's menus and diet journals -

1) I need to snack between meals to keep my metabolism up (How many times will I have to learn this lesson????)

2) I do best when I plan my day's menu the day before.

I had an eating breakdown yesterday & the scale showed it this morning. Oh well!!! It's a new day - new me - and I'm back on track today!

Hi everyone. Well, they countered our counter and we rejected. So right now the ball is in their court. Just have to wait and see. I guess you could say we are at the "dance" waiting to get picked! Haven't heard anymore from the people that looked at it yesterday but maybe that will happen too.

Well, it looks like we are going to get a thunder storm--- I'll be back if we get any more news. Have a good day!

Selling a house is nerve wracking. I've been watching some of those tv shows where they "fix" up a house for selling. It seems to be a very competitive market out there right now. Karen 31 hope you get a good sale on house. Every time we do something with our house my neighbor always wants to know if we're getting ready to sell.

It's such a lovely evening, I may go for a walk if I can get up off the couch. Have a good night everyone.
