Kathleen, how exciting to look for a new house. I hope you find something you really love and in a great location.

I lost another pound this week and I'm in the 160s finally. I'll soon be down to the weight I was when I retired and foolishly didn't keep up the weight loss.

hi everyone...all over and even cleaned up. MYG am I beat. And have company coming tomorrow. There is nothing in my refrig. Used everything up. Even thinking about pushing a cart around sounds like too much.

Bobbi...whatever does flaxseed oil taste like? Ha, as a kid they had to hide the cod liver oil from me 'cause I thought that and a dill pickle was better than ice cream! brrrrrrrrrrr thinking about it now.

Kathleen...have many friends that live in senior parks and they really love it. Hope you find the just right place.

Isabella...Double wow on the 160's. Stick around and we'll keep you on track.

Off in search of something to eat....still little low on calories...hugs, Karen3

Hi all.

Sorry to hear about all the lost posts. I redid my accountability post. This whole thing is so different for me. I realize now how I have totally resisted monitoring my food intake. A while back I think it was Lynn who told me to figure my BMR and minus 500 calories would be one pound lost a week. After figuring that, I though it would be interesting to figure what my BMR would be if I was at my goal weight. Turns out that my BMR with light exercise is 2458 - 500 = 1958. If I weighed my goal weight my BMR with light exercise to maintain is 2100. So I figure that I need to learn what 2000 calories looks like because that is what I should be eating the rest of my life.

I am hoping to join my hubby's soft ball team at work. That would get me out there twice a week and would really be great for my exercise. If not, then I have been asked to join a lady's golf group that meets once a week. That would also get me out walking, etc. Still looking for someone to play tennis with also.

Have a great evening everyone.

Hollie

Hello Everyone! Sorry to hear about the CRASH! I would have been totally lost knowing I couldn't get on BUT since we just traveled gthe last 3 days (from MO. to PA.) and stayed in state parks that don't have internet I didn't have any idea.

So far our trip has been pretty good. We did break a spring shackel (SP) on the 5th wheel that we had to have fixed on Thursday morning and that put us about 3 hours behind schedule (and $145.00 that we hadn't counted on!) But we got in to Tim's Dad's house last night about 6:00.

I did get out my Walk Away Your Waistline DVD this morning and did 3 miles! I was tired and almost didn't do it but this was the first time that I had a chance to do it since we left home. Felt good to get it done and will do it again tomorrow. We will probably be here through this coming week before heading back to MO. to my Dad's house. Hoping to watch the weather for storms and try to go through BETWEEN them.

I'm still tired tonight but wanted to get on here and say Hello to everyone. Bobbi, good to see you back and I will check out the daily accountability thread too.

Take care everyone and I'll try to check back tomorrow.

Good Morning . . .

Yesterday turned almost hot around here -- what a shock -- today is strange so far . . . dull and definitely coolish, but is still feels very muggy. I've been doing a fair bit of walking recently since the weather has been so nice, but looks like today will be a WiiFit or Gazelle kind of day instead.

Hope everybody has a great and fun day on the go . . . see you later . . .

Hi Everyone,

Hot and humid here - supposed to get up to close to 100.

I'm picking up my Little Sister & we're going up to my neice's house (Blairstown, NJ - near the Poconos) to celebrate my sister's 75th birthday. My neice has a pool - if I can figure out how to get in the water without getting in the sun, I'll probably swim today.

I'm making a SF cole slaw w turkey and peanuts to take to the party. This neice has a son with type 1 diabetes so she always has good, healthy food at her get-togethers.

Have a good Sunday,

Lynn

Morning all....The company just called and they are only as far as NC. Yeaaaaaaa...can rest up and shop tomorrow. Got up thinking it was Father's Day and made a perfect omelet for DH. Only realized was a week early after eating it.

Linda...Did you have a pickle with yours? Funny but with all the cod liver oil I did develope rickets. And my Dad was an MD! I heard that story all my life. Now I can't stand anything thick to swallow.

Hollie...Isn't exciting to learn all kinds of new stuff about taking care of ourselves? And the insight into the whys that we do things to hamper ourselves sometimes is incredible. Good planning will get you losing those pounds for sure.

Karen...Enjoy your trip and soak up the heat! My DS and DD say it's really hot there.

Isabella...What is the story about your friend and child? Please share with us so we can join with more prayers.

Betcha that Lynn is scrapbooking. After all the work of getting us back up and running she is hiding behind her glue pots. Again thank you for getting us back!

I am not playing bridge tomorrow. Have finally figured out that after such intense days that I get super stupid and staying home is smart. Actually at this point I do not like anybody and everything irritates me. Only few times a year when have no sense of humor. ...gotta find me a den and crawl in until mood changes....grrrrrrrrrr

Take care of yourself, eat healthy and hugs, Karen3

Well, I lost a nice long post so this will be a shorter version.

Lost 2 lbs. past weekl, trying for 2 again the coming week. Doing some type of exercise everyday and that helps.

Glad to see some of the orginial GG are still here and I hope to get to know all the newer ladies. I need to post more often to keep myself honest and motivated.

Hi everyone. I'll tell you about my friend. She is four months pregnant and on Friday she started bleeding and took herself to the hospital immediately. She is on at least 3 weeks complete bed rest in hospital and may not be able to go home until the baby is born in October. This weekend has been the most critical time for the baby because the amniotic fluid is leaking from a small tear. The doctors are hoping that it will heal itself as they were not very successful in repairing the damage. So our church started a prayer chain and I posted this in the Christian Encouragers thread. I've known the mother all her life and even taught her when she was in elementary/primary school. So if any of you would like to add her to your prayers we would surely appreciate it.

Happy Sunday Everyone!
I'm on my way out the door to visit my dad, he's 94 so this will be short. I just wanted to comment on whoever asked me what Flaxseed oil tasted like, I think it was Karen 3? I pour it into a measuring Tablespoon and drink it right down. It has a slight fishy after taste but that lasts about 3 seconds. My fat grams have increased quite a bit in the last two days but it's a good healthy fat. I fry everything in Pam spray and I use "I can't believe it's not butter spray" for doctoring up my vegetables, etc. So I really need to get some healthy oil in there some place. You can't fry anything in Flaxseed oil, that's what they told us on the "Flat Belly" site. You can also mix it with a good grade of Vinegar and put on salads.
P.S. I used to eat Blackie's dry dog food with I was little, She was a sweet tempered black lab and she never minded sharing her food with me. Mom started putting her bowl up out of my reach until I took a nap or went to bed.
