Hi everyone, Sounds like everyone had quite a weekend. I went up north again and worked on my flower beds at our cottage. All the spring flowers look so beautiful. We drove by the burnt out area just outside of Grayling, MI where 1,000 acres burnt, it was sad to see. I'm looking forward to the end of the school year. 25 days, but who's counting. I have so much work to get done by then. Talk to you soon. Lori

Good Morning all my GOLDEN friends

Today seems to be a little overcast and for a change, that doesn't bother me since I have a long drive to the airport and I honestly prefer driving in duller weather. Once I'm plane-bound for Ontario, I'll be above the clouds anyway.

Don't know if I'll be around much for the next few days, but you never know, I might find a computer. At worst, I will be back on the weekend and will see you all then . . .

It's the longest and fastest time of the school year and it's the best time of the school year! I so know how you feel. The only time that goes faster is summer vacation.

The weather is overcast but looks like it's clearing up. We're promised sun and warm weather today so I'm going for my jog in about 1/2 an hour when breakfast settles.

Meowee have a nice little vacation.

Isabella, I'm not sure of the price (will have to check) but it is my favorite "salty" snack along with either trisquits or Mary's Gone crackers.

Another thing you can do with it is great. chop and smash up some herbs with the laughing cow...then slit a chicken breast and stuff it inside the breast. Then spray the breast with olive oil pam and roll in almond meal, or parmesan cheese or some other kind of non white flour coating and bake in the oven. really yummy. I like the french onion and garlic ones best.

I know what you mean by the summer passing quickly. I get out in about a week and a half, but have to go back on August 5th!!

Good morning, everyone.

Another overcast day here in L.A. I was almost cold all day yesterday - wore a long sleeved sweater all day - was that nice.

My dog and I finally got out for a walk yesterday. We walked about 10 blocks. My pup got to meet a couple other pups but mostly we were learning how to heel. When we got back home, he was exhausted and slept most of the afternoon. I was energized and could have walked another 10 blocks, I think. I hope to go out and do it again today.

Looks like I dropped another .4 lb. So I got rid of that pound or so that came back on over the weekend. I have a little cramping in my tummy, but I know this will pass soon.

Congrats, Willow, on the loss. Doesn't it feel so good to be a little lighter.

Today is another day to stick around the house and try to make a dent on the clutter in my place. Karen, I love the idea about the troll. I'm sure I have a very active troll as the clutter comes back as soon as I can get rid of it.

Have a lovely day.

That sounds really yummy, Cat. I'm vegetarian but I can do that with a meat analogue substitute. I'll have to keep it for special occasions with the price I have to pay. I've only seen the plain cheese so far but I've only looked in one store. And it is a nice salty low fat treat to be sure.

Oh, Kathleen, I didn't see your post as you must have posted as I was writing mine. That's almost 1/2 pound! Nothing wrong with that.

Default checking in!

I stayed on track yesterday, except for a couple of corn chips. I ran out of time to take a nice long walk, so I spent the time I had riding my bike. I figure a little exercise is better than none!

It sounds like there are several teachers/retired teachers on this list. Fun times, just around the corner! We have Open House this Thursday, so we are busy getting ready for that.

Thanks for the encouragement. I've been drinking lots of water, trying to make up for my crazy weekend!

Hello all

I don't know what ails me lately ~ I am having the hardest time with my eating. I start out the day ok, but then later in the day, I just start shoveling the food in ~ sometimes I am not even hungry. I'v gotta stop this.

I did ride my bike today, but I'm gonna have to do a lot of something if I don't get a handle on this eating. It seems like I am doing worse after I decided that I needed to quit messing around and try harder. Like when I wasn't worrying about it so much, I didn't eat as much.

Thanks for listening.

Hi everyone, Yes this is a busy time. I had an awful day. I started eating some carbs and everything went down hill from there. Carbs just do me in. I'll start a new day tomorrow and drink lots of water. Have a great day. Lori

Gayle, it may also help to keep a log of what you are eating to see if something is possibly "setting you off" to eat more at night. If you are eating stuff that is high in the glycemic index, then it may be your blood sugar telling you that you are starving later on when the "hungries" hit you . I used to have that vicious cycle too...I would go nuts at night eating everything in the house that wasn't glued down because it was the combination of foods I was eating earlier that triggered that. Try eating some beans, vegs, lean protein about an hour or so before your usual time of wanting to eat at night and see if that helps.

Since we eat "dinner" so early, I find that if I have a protein rich "snack" around 6:30-7, then I don't want to eat after that. Like a small spinich/chicken salad or tuna salad on a few Mary's Gone crackers. Since it is protein and veg or protein and high fiber (no wheat) crackers, it really does the job of keeping me happy till I go to sleep. If I really want something sweet after that, a sugar free popsicle or no sugar added fudgesicle does the trick.

Good morning. Another gray, cool spring day here. I've been chilled for the past three days. Hope it warms up a little.

Down another .2 lb. I am under the 299 mark. Every little bit helps. But I feel congested so I can't feel the loss, darn it.

Went shopping yesterday, and along with all the good stuff, and vitamins that I had run out of, I also got a quart of Breyer's sugar-free/low carb Neopolitan ice cream. Not on my diet, but I was craving something sweet and I knew a popsicle wouldn't cut it. I had a nice dish of it and got away with it for a change. I usually don't do milk products as they act up on me - except for a little cheese. I'm sure part of the problem is that I have been bored and ice cream has always been one of my "remedies" for boredom.

But today, things start happening again. Our singing group has a performance tomorrow at the senior center, so we are having a rehearsal brunch at the director's house - that should be fun. And the brunch should be fun tomorrow - chicken and veggies and salad - I checked the menu so I should do fine. On Friday, I drive across town to meet some of my old co-workers for lunch - we are doing barbeque - they have the best southern barbeque place so I'll have the meat, dry, and collard greens. Yum.

I find that I can last until bedtime as long as I eat around 6:30 and then a protein snack about 8. But not that ice cream - bad girl - but it was so good for a change.

Have a lovely day.
