Hey! I can't believe it's Friday again!
So sorry to hear about the snow, meowee! It seems so unfair...
I made the mistake of joining a group training session because I thought it would be less strenuous. Yeah, right. I won't make that mistake again! Everything is sore today, which is to be expected, but the main thing was that my heart rate was too high the whole time, and the trainer kept on pushing anyway. Dumb Amazon that she is.
Oh well... tomorrow is another day... Last weekend I cleaned out the rain gutters, and this weekend it's going to be pruning bushes. Spring... tra la...

Jay - la, la - la, la, la, la - it is cleaning closets for me this weekend. I do love spring, but I'm not sure WHY I act like my GRANDMOTHER when it comes to spring cleaning. I'm not like this any other time of the year
Linda - I'm sorry you got snow. I think I would cry if we got more snow. I really don't like long winters. And the older I get, the less I like them.
I'm glad it is Friday. I haven't heard anything on my bike, and I'm kinda growly about it. I am not being particularly patient on this issue. You would think that I was a kid waiting for Christmas or something. <thunks head> Sometimes I need to just grow up and act my age
I hope you all have a POP weekend and here's to no snow for any of our Chickies!

Hi all, we reuse plastic bags for trash can liners. My husband also does a funny thing: it's kind of complicated but here goes. He takes a cooler to work every day. For his cooler, he makes ice in different sizes of tupperware..he has sizes for every size cooler believe it or not. In the morning when he's getting his cooler ready, he takes the ice out of the tupperware container, and puts it in a plastic bag. He then refills the tupperware container with water, so that he has ice for the next day. The plastic bag keeps the ice from melting all over his food. Often, when he gets home at night, the ice isn't melted completely in the bag, so he just sticks the bag into the freezer and uses it again the next day. Did I mention he's kind of A-R? O-C? But it works for him and he does it every day. Let me know if you don't understand and I will draw you a flowchart.
I had a good eating day. Didn't exercise, but after work I went to a nursery and bought plants for my butterfly garden. That's what I will be working on tomorrow.
Can someone tell me what POP stands for?

Good Morning . . .
Here's a link to one of the lists of acronyms that are around here . . . none of them seem to be totally complete (for example POP isn't in this one --but I think Jay is correct) but this one is pretty good. -- http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83430
Anyway -- the snow has all melted away again -- the heavy rain got rid of it. It's still very cold and very windy and very overcast, though.
Nothing too exciting for me -- must get out to the grocery store or tomorrow morning will be 'sans-coffee' and that would be a disaster.
So, off I go to get moving and shaking . . .

Wow, you all sound so mature and adult-like regarding spring cleaning and yard work and all --
Ok, my spring cleaning this weekend is trying to spiffify (is that a word?) a '61 TR3 so that it will need only minor spiffification before the car show next weekend. That and giving rides to those in the mood for danger.
Have a good weekend, everyone!

Who's mature and adult-like regarding Spring cleaning and yard work? Where does all the dust come from? I'm sick and tired of dusting so I've given it up except for most important occasions (the Queen visiting and....and....oh, I can't think of any other reason to dust!)

I never "spring" clean. I just try to keep up with things all through the year...daily stuff and some non-daily stuff every day, but it's not a lot. I don't have a really clean house but it isn't really dirty too...I consider it comfortable.
I worked out hard every day at the gym this week and I'm tired. Been going to bed early..10 pm generally. Thats early for me. Today my dh is working in the yard since the sun is shining but don't know whether I'll get out there. I've done the daily stuff ...just puttering around...an now plan to do a little weekly cleaning in the spare bedroom. It's rarely very dirty but does get a little dusty. Also need to plan my weekly menus and grocery list...probably do that tonight though. I like to wait until I get The List from grocerygame.com. I do my sales/coupon shopping on Sun usually.

POP - Jay is right on (as usual ) = Perfectly On Plan
Mary - I wish I could keep up with things through the year, but I just don't seem able to do it. We finally found frames for the pictures DS gave us for Christmas. I must admit, I was appalled at the amount of dust I found on top of the frames I took down
I did get 5 bags of coats and clothing ready to donate today. It feels good to get some cleaning done
The weather has turned cold and windy here I'm glad I got my garden cleaned out last weekend.
I'm looking forward to the BL "Just Beachy" challenge starting. Hopefully, it will give me an extra push to get the rest of this weight off.
I'm also looking for a good Palm OS calorie counter. Has anyone used such an animal?

At least with the overcast skies we've been having for the past few days, I tend to forget about the fact that my sunroom windows need cleaning -- badly. Actually the silly weather forecast is calling for but so far, no sign of it. I really need to get at my closets, too.
Afraid I'm a paper and pencil kind of old-girl when it comes to calories. I do stick my totals into an Excel program to track the daily stuff and do the percentages. I sort of planned on doing this BL challenge cycle, too; but suddenly woke up and discovered I'd missed the sign-up deadline. Hope it does the trick for you.
Nothing too exciting for me today . . . but lately things just seem to keep popping up. So I never know . . . Hope you all have great moving and shaking things planned . . .

Oh all right.
Actually I've been up for hours now--but am just getting around to posting here. Lots of editing to do today.
Spinymouse, it was good to see you're still posting! And yes, I am mature and adult-like when it comes to yard work.
I hope you are all un-sore from your weekend activities. After I got whumped by the Amazon at the gym, I haven't been back--but I've been swimming and walking, so that counts. I'll be back there today for my usual workout, and will tell the Amazon to stay away from me.
Cheers!
Jay

Hello all! Another great day in Northern MI. No snow!!!! Hallelujah! Work went well, and my yearly evaluation was stellar, so I am pleased. I Even negotiated a small raise and a couple more perks in the process
Which made up for the cancellation of my order by the electric bike vendor. GRRR. So I found another vendor and ordered it, and they refunded my money because they no longer carry it (even though the website said it was "in stock". So I ordered from another vendor, and THEY refunded my money because they forgot to post a $100 price increase. So I found it on ebay. I asked the seller a question about the color, and when I got the answer and went to "buy it now", the price had jumped $100. So, I placed an order with yet another vendor which is "pending". Sometimes I wish I didn't live in a small town where you just can't go and buy things the old fashioned way!
Enough grousing about Internet vendors. I'm off to research another option in case #5 fails me too.
Hope you are having a wonderful day

Hi peeps
I'm new, but you all seem like old friends already.
Today is the first day of my diet and exercise program. I'm following a Mediterannean-style food plan. I'm a college student and usually eat lunch at the dining hall, which is very health-conscience, so I was sitting in Russian Lit class, thinking about the big salad I was going to eat only to discover I left my ID card at home. So no food at all for me til I got home and then had some chicken and some Greek salad, which I was VERY glad to eat.
As for walking, my campus is very hilly and the buildings are far apart (each one on top of its own private hill, it seems) so there's plenty of opportunity for excercise if I walk to classes instead of taking the shuttle buses.
So today went pretty good, all in all and I am optimistic.
Nice to meet you all .
-Sparrow

Good Morning . . . for each and every one of you.
You did really well SPARROW. for managing to eat dinner on plan . . . that's not an easy thing when you are extra hungry. But, you know it's not good to skip meals so remember your ID card from now on - K?
It's another overcast day here in AtlanticCa . . . hopefully we will get an hour or two of sunshine later in the day. At least the temperatures are fairly mild and Spring-like. Hope to get myself out for a little hilly walk today. I live on a hill so no matter where I go, it's down and that means I hve to come up again later.
I was retaining water yesterday and still hve some in the ankle area this morning. Strange -- since I did not overdose on either carbs or sodium yesterday (what usually does it to me). Hey, guess it is just my TOM
Have a great moving and shaking day everybody . . . see you later . . .
