I'm on a hill too -- has some good things and some bad things going for it.

Jay . . . I think you've made a wise decision, Chickie . . . more weight might come off without your even thinking about it. Time will tell.

See you later, gang . . .

Good Morning . . .

Day started out a little overcast, but the sun seems to be putting in an appearance now. My biggest plan for the day is to call the dentist's office again and hopefully get another temporary patch -- one that lasts -- on this stupid tooth. then, maybe I'll be able to figure out what else I need to do.

See you later. . . keep stuff moving and shaking, gang . . .

Hi all and happy Monday! My last post was in #9...where did the time go?

This has been a rough year for me, but I'm ready to put the past away and start new. I'm not going to discuss, dwell, or explain my troubles...I'm going to leave them in the dust and move forward, one step at a time! How's that for affirmation?!

My plan for today is: go to the doctor, go to work, watch my food intake, do an exercise dvd when I get home, and stay positive!

See you later...have a great day!

That's a great attitude Dinah. You can't undo the past but the future is certainly more in your control. Hope you have a great day.

Hi everyone, Beautiful day here in Michigan. I hope you'e ablt to get out and enjoy it Counting. I have spent most of the day inside, trying to fix my computer. I hate/love this thing!! I think it's ok now, I hope (crossing fingers and eyes)

Jay, Good for you for deciding to lsiten to your body about your weight loss. I am at goal too and I am still watching what I eat. I don't want to gain, just maintain. I'm aiming for health. I already did my weights this morning and took a short walk.

Counting, I've never heard or seen a motorized bike. sounds interesting and it will surely save a lot of gas. I'm ready to get my bike out and go riding with my granddaughter, but I think it needs new tires. Got to have DH check it out. Actually, that might be a option to the exercise problem.

Dinah, Looks like you have a plan, girl! We can't do much about what life hands us, but we can control how we respond to it.

Everyone make it a good day, Freda

Hi all - just a quick fly in since the weather is glorious and I need to spend every minute outside. It is supposed to turn cold later this week. Doing GREAT with my eating and exercise. My stability ball and DVD came in the mail on Sat. so I got in my first workout this morning. I felt muscles that I haven't used much - even after 9 months of weight, resistance, yoga and pilates. I'm thinking this is a GOOD thing. As long as I can MOVE tomorrow

Ok, so far, so good. I did all those things: went to the doctor, went to work, ate a good lunch, stayed positive. After work, I did the 1-mile Leslie Sansone dvd (starting over after 6 months of no walking), did a little raking. I feel like I'm on the upswing.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts.

Hey Dinahgirl! I'm on the west coast of Fla.

Folks, I really did my legs in climbing up and down on the ladder the last couple of days. It just goes to show that activity you're not used to can still get you, even if you work out, use treadmill, bike, cross-trainer, do leg presses... I am SO SORE!

But, the rain gutters are all cleaned out for the summer.

Didn't make it to the gym today, but I did bring home some beautiful yellowfin tuna for supper. Yummmm...

Hope you're all doing well. Guess I'll be limping off to bed soon...

Good Morning, Looks like we have another lovely day. I am taking the dog and granddaughter (she spent the night) for a long walk.

Counting, I have a stability ball too. Great for streaching. And it's supposed to help strenghten the inner core. Can't beat that. And changing up exercise patterns make the body wonder whats happening.

Dinah, You are off to a great start. It's all one day at a time, one good decision at a time.

Jay, the tuna sounds sooo good! Yum! how do you make it? Sounds like it would be perfect grill with some pineapple saulsa on top. STOP! I'm making myself hungry!

God make it a good day, Freda

Hey! Yes, the slim me, grilling is best. You grill it just like you would a steak, but it's more delicate, so you have to handle it carefully with the spatula or tongs. A salsa would be good--or a horseradish sauce for adding to one's taste. I just squirted on some lemon and salted it, but we have a horseradish sauce from Boar's Head that is mild and very nice with tuna or roast beef.

6 oz. of tuna is under 200 calories, and it's all high-quality protein.

I grilled ours using a George Foreman grill. They can be tricky--I find I have to use a shorter length of time and a slightly higher temp than they tell you--otherwise things come out "baked" or dry. I did it just right last night, though.

I like the Foreman grill because the grilling plates come off and can go in the dishwasher--plus there are no coals, no trying to cook outdoors, etc.

I had my leftover cooked tuna with salad greens for lunch.

Jay

Hi everyone!

I have been here but I have been so busy reading all your entries that I have not had time to write.
Things are going so/so with me. I have been getting to the gym at least 3 times a week. I am inspired to get there every weekday. You are all so great at the exercise. I have been getting up in the morning and going before work.
I am going to start a Tai Chi course the beginning of May so that will be fun. Nice to hear from Freda and I would sure like to get your attitude around my food. It is exactly what I need but it sure is hard to change old habits. Plus the woman across from me at work has chocolates and cashews on her desk everyday. I am slowly getting better at resisting. I have a new mantra to remind me what I want and why I want it. Plus I am finally realizing that I so deserve to look after myself.

Hi to Dinah. Yes life is a struggle but don't let that get in the way one more day. You will feel fabulous once you do.

Congratulations to you Jay. It must be all that swimming. I used to have a pool in my yard but have since moved. I am jealous.

Have a great day and I am glad to drop in again.........Jude

Oh and Happy Earth Day to everyone. I think we are slowly getting it that every day is Earth day. I can see that Counting is certainly doing her share. As for me I do laundry in cold water. I turn off the lights and I drive a fuel efficient car.
How about all you guys???

Hi all - Happy Earth Day

Another beautiful day in Northern MI

Jay - I like my George Foreman grill too. A friend gave it to me and I didn't think I would use it much. I was so wrong. We use it every day! Being vegetarians, we don't grill out too much - kabobs and veggie burgers mostly. But, now I do them indoors. So much easier and faster, and no bugs

Jude - good to see you back posting, we missed you. We recycle, reuse, reduce everything we can, buy green, cloth grocery bags, small car (or walk if we can), more insulation in the basement, new high-efficiency furnace, programmable thermostat, small room air conditioner that we use only when we need it, air dry my hair, hang my laundry (not always though ), water filter and reusable bottle in both offices and at home ...
Stewardship of Earth's resources is something that we have been passionate about for a long time.

Freda - hope you are enjoying our beautiful weather

Dinah - good for you girl! I love doing workouts with Leslie too. She is so inspiring when you are getting back on track. It really makes you feel like you CAN do this. And of course - she is right - YOU CAN! Keep us posted on your progress.

Hope you are having a POP day!

Thank you all so much for your encouragement! I didn't eat too well today, but I did my mile with Leslie.

It was a beautiful Earth Day here in north Florida. Like you all, we are trying to do our part. We wash in cold water, recycle everything. We reuse plastic forks and bottles, etc.

Thanks for the tuna recipe, JayEll. I am going to try it with flounder.

Everybody have a great day!
