Will try to catch up later!
Morning Everyone...quick flyby today...have to catch up on work since I more or less took most of yesterday afternoon off getting ready for last night's dinner party (warning..food porn)
The party turned out just great...except for one little thing...the birthday girl got sick and could not come. We had already changed the party from Sat. to Fri. to accomodate the other couple's plans and just had to carry on without her, bless her heart. She and her husband are going to try to come over this afternoon if she is feeling better so she can have dessert. I saved cake, 2 creme brulees and some soup for them. Had a lot of fun, but I'm wiped out today with a ton of work ahead of me.

Besides the dessert and french bread, the rest was all South Beach...I had a couple of bites of cake and a couple of bites of creme brulee and it just about put me out. ugggy stomach. I also ate my bread..shame. I think I did my "no-no's" for the month. Back on the wagon today.

A new organic food store opened here today...so that may be my one outing for the day.

Good Morning Everyone,

This morning, I'm doing cat-sitting training for the girl who will feed my cat while my dd, sil, and I are away next week.

Then, if I can catch up with her, I'm going to pick up my Little Sister & do some last minute X-mas shopping for her family.

According to the weather station, it's supposed to start snowing tonight.

Tomorrow is the Big Brothers/Big Sisters X-mas party - I'm hoping it doesn't get snowed-out.

Monday we leave for Williamsburg.

Hope all is well with everyone,

Happy weekend,

Lynn

Good morning all

A couple days off from work. Yippee!!

Life is about to enter a new phase for me this weekend. My husband's last day of work was Thursday, he has retired. He is on his way to Houston finally ~ will be here in a few hours. (I had been here in Houston a year without him while he stayed in North Carolina to sell our home and finish his job.) What a relief it will be to have him here ~ he can take back over the "handling" of stuff.

I am glad to finally have him here, but a little apprehensive at the same time. Having him here all day every day is going to be different. In the past he has sort of been the "food police" to me. I am trying to think that having someone around will make me be more careful and trying harder to make better choices. I hope it works out that way and doesn't backfire.

I got to spend a little time with daughter Sara yesterday. HELLPPPPPPP. She was talking some crazy thing about them maybe moving sometime. NOOOOOOOO. After we move down here (partly at her urging) and are enjoying getting to see her and the kids and my son more often. Gave up a house we liked, a job I didn't mind going to and now having a job I hate. Again I say NOOOOOOOOO. She was like ~ I didn't think your moving here made it a rule that we had to stay here. DUhhhhhhh. What is she thinking?

Hope you all are having a good weekend.

Take care all

Good Morning Golden Girls, Just heard the weather on TV. We're supposed to get a BIG snowfall this weekend. Drats!! I still have some shopping to do. Oh well, my husband is home and he can drive. I hope to finish up today and start wrapping tonight. I really don't mind wrapping and can get through it rather quickly.

I got on the scale this morning and it's moved again. I'm not counting it until Monday, my weigh in day. But it felt good to see that needle move down.

Marylynn, Love the picture of you crossing the finish line!!! My hero!!! And walking the boys will keep you fit, untill the next marathon! Got one planned?

JJ, You're going to Maui? Do you have room in your suitcase for one more? Sun, beach, mai tai's........enjoy all of them!

Lyn, I hope that cough was just a transit thing and is gone by now. Did you get to the fitness center? fun! I miss exercising so much. Hopefully I will be able to again soon. Have fun firing up the wood stove and wrapping. Make some hot tea and relly enjoy. It's a necessary thing but there's no reason it can't be pleasant too.

car, YUMMY!!! Everything looks beautiful and mouth watering. I'm sure the birthday girl was SO sorry to miss. Hope she is better for today. Is that your little white dog? Adorable!!

Lynn, Hope you got everything done before it started snowing!

Gayle, Your daughter is talking about moving after you moved to be near her! I agree with you, noooooo! I know the kids were talking about moving last year, before the housing market bottomed out up here. I was prepared to moved right behind them. But I guess You can't depend on them staying put, and I do want my mext move to be my last. Good luck. I know you will enjoy having Hubby there to help out. But all the time? We're close to retirement too and i'm not too sure about spending THAT much time together!

Take care, Freda

Hi and good morning. Thank you all for the warm welcome! It is snowing here. Like 12 inches by Sunday. I have 3 cats. Rusty, Dixiemae, and Angel-Leah. One blk Lab. Would some one tell me how to do a weight loss ticker tape? Thanks
Pat

Good Morning! I can't believe it was -12 degrees this morning!! But we are just moving right on up and we are sitting at 14 degrees right now!! Heat Wave!!

Linda (meowee) I'm hoping that the kitties are all feeling so much better today. I imagine you are just about stressed to the max right now! I'll keep good thoughts going your way!

Cat, WOW!! Your dinner party looked wonderful. I just love looking at your pictures because they all seem to tell a story! I wish I just had HALF your talent! Your home looks like pictures that you see in the "Homes Beautiful" magazines! Really Beautiful.

Lynn, It looks like you have some busy times coming in the next few days. Be sure to have a good time and Drive Safe! We only have a couple inches of snow on the ground but it is cold!

Gayle, I'll bet you are anxious to have hubby with you again. That would be so hard to try to do everything separate. I know how hard it is to try to have them with you 24 hours though--- just smile and bite your tongue a lot!! I know my tongue is sore all the time!!

Marylynn, What A great picture of you crossingthe finish line! We're all so proud of you here. I'm hoping that I can just commit to doing my treadmill everyday!! I just have to make myself do it!

Freda,, Congrats on seeing that scale move down! I'm going to be like Meowee and not even take mine out of the corner until after the first of the year!

Gary, Hello!! So sorry to hear about your Grandmother. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Well, Hello to everyone else that I missed---- Anybody hear anything from Theresa?? I hope all is well there. Take care and I'll be back later.

Hi Gang . . .

Nothing very different going on today in the sick cat world . . . Purrecious has her good moments and her bad moments when she just looks like she is crying. I get about half of the recommended amount of drops into (or close to) her eyes, but she is getting some of the L-Lysine Supplement because she doesn't mind it too much. Blizzard and Frick are still seemingly okay; so I'm thankful for small mercies. Can only assume that the two living at the Vet's are fine or as fine as can be expected.

It is really ugly outside again . . . not too much snow falling right now, but it is certainly blowing around a lot. Tomorrow, the weather station is calling for really awful stuff and lots of snow accumulation. It's not even officially Winter yet.

Anyway, hope everybody is having a pretty good day and getting lots of stuff accomplished. See you all soon . . .

Good Morning Everyone,

Six weeks ago I weighed 153.2 - Today, I weigh 153.8 - oh well, at least I'm back in the 153's - not the 155's. However, I have no belief that I'll stay here. I'm off to Williamsburg tomorrow & will be eating all my meals in restaurants for the next 5 days.

Doesn't seem to matter what I do - more calories/fewer calories/more exercise/less exercise - I just keep fluctuating between 153 and 155. I really think my body has decided we're at goal.

It never did snow here last night - just rain. We're supposed to get a lot of wind this afternoon. I'm taking my Little Sister & her younger brother to the Big Sisters/Big Brothers party today. Hope we don't get blown away.

I hope you all have a good next week. I'll check back in next weekend.

Lynn
