Jay - Well, no. I'd have to get zapped there as an adult, if we are going to fantasize we should do it right, right?

John Denver songs- oh, yes, that kind of folk music! Yes, I've played some of those tunes too. Do you still play guitar?
I was thinking it would have been good to be able to get in on the more gritty stuff, with the beat poets and that sort of thing. Sigh!

After I said that, I thought maybe I shouldn't have, so I'm glad you are ok with it!

I was born and raised in Berkeley, CA and graduated from HS in 1960, so I have heard some music in my time, but I don't remember much now.

Wow did this day every whiz by . . . not because I was doing so much

I agree with the general concensus SPINY . . . great picture. Hate to tell you this but you have a natural kind of beauty that you won't succeed in hiding with 'frumpy' so don't even bother. Just tell it like it is when they try to 'set you up' with 'whoever'.

Music . . . hmmmmm . . . afraid I'm rather boring in that regard. I like the good old 'soft rock' (or most of it) but my absolute passion is for the classical composers.

Have a great 'rest of the day' folks . . . keep things moving and shaking . . .

Default Whew! I can't keep up!

Chicks, you are definitely active! I can't miss a day with you guys.....

Look what's goin' on...new posters.....welcome! CoutingDown, since you are, well, counting......you will have a "golden weight loss"......like a golden birthday....50#s lost when you are 50!

Am racking my brain trying to figure out what folk singer that it has been said Spiny resembles...hmmm..gimme some time....

Anyone see Joni Mitchell on CBS yesterday morning? Talk about an active woman over 50! She still rocks.....or folks, I guess.

Hey, y'all...music lovers.......THE BLUES!! The Blues......Bonnie Raitt, The Staples Singers, KoKo Taylor...anyone??

Meowee, glad you are OK. We had the 4 letter word here today......SNOW

Joni Mitchell - what a talented woman! A beautiful voice, creative songwriter, skilled on several instruments - WOW! Maryblu - I like the blues too, second to folk. I was just listening to some old blues - Mississippi John Hurt.
Linda - absolutely nothing boring with the classical composers! My brain is just a little too simple to fully appreciate them! I like some classical guitar though. Bach on a guitar is beautiful.

Great profile picture, Spinymouse (maybe a little Joan Baez going on there IMHO)! I love it and I agree with Jay - even gray hair won't keep those suitors away.

I had a brief stint of guitar playing - I loved playing Woodie Guthrie stuff, and John Denver, and Peter, Paul & Mary stuff too. Now, it is mostly contemporary Christian or classical. A few favorites from my youth (3 Dog Night, Moody Blues, Chicago, Jim Croce, etc.)

We had our first snowflakes today too maryblu . UGH - I'm not ready for winter yet. Like everyone else here, I dress for myself and don't pay a lot of attention to fashion trends. But, like Jay, I need to be "put together" for work. I still try to put my own slant on things and hate it when I buy something that I like and a few months later it becomes popular.

gailr42 - DS is going to school in Berkeley right now - he is in his 3rd year of seminary at PSR. It is a great place to visit, I can't wait for our annual trip next month.

Hope you all had a GREAT day!

CountingDown - I love Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie and PP&M - We need to have a hootenanny here! I have not listened to contemporary Christian for a long time. But I will say that the first paying "job" I ever had was playing guitar at a folk mass at the Catholic church when I was 14! I really sucked. Thankfully I played with a 19-year old woman who was very good and could carry me.

Thanks for the compliment; Joan Baez is lovely. Wow, what a woman with guts and conviction! And talk about a woman who is still going strong!

I feel kind of silly to call attention just because I put a pic in my profile because there are others who have profile pics and I just started to look up those! Pamatga's picture is so cool - full of personality!!

Pete Seeger, The Weavers!

I haven't played guitar in a long time--it's one of those things that I ran out of time for.

Did anyone else see Joni Mitchell the first time she played on Ed Sullivan? She sang Clouds and was just a baby, so to speak.

I'm going to be off at a friend's house most of the day. One of those things where I wish I hadn't scheduled this because I have so much else to do.

Afraid I'm a listener rather than a player . . . I envy you talented types.

Anyway just flying through to say . . . Good Morning, Good Morning . . . etcetera . . . We have but we also have cold. Hey it is that time of year, I guess; so I'm very willing to settle for the sun. Sooooo, I'm off to play in the day . . . see you later . . .

CountingDown, I went to University Christian Church when I was a kid. It is right next door to PSR, and maybe a mile from my house! So for sure you know where I came from.

My only musical talent is listening. I like most kinds of music except maybe hard rock. I guess what I don't like is music where I can only hear the banging in the background.

I wish that the sun and come out to play here! Snow and blowing and winter weather advisory all day. YUCK! And I had my hair cut today too. I HATE it when they spend all that time making it look so good (I can NEVER duplicate it - no matter how hard I try) and then I go outside in snow and 40 mph winds and "undo" my do.
Good day otherwise. OP eating. A coworker told me I looked fabulous in my new Goodwill find of a blazer and dress pants (it is one of 4 outfits I now have that actually fit me ) and DH did Walk Slim 3 Fast Miles with me (and Leslie of course). It is more fun when you have a walk buddy

Dawn, I am used to being busy. Even when I was a SAHM, I ended up doing volunteer work for about 30-40 hours a week. It is actually a blessing for me. I HATE housecleaning and if I am at home, I kinda feel like I gotta spend some time doing it. Since I work more hours than DH, he actually does about half of the chores around the house. However, my carpets need cleaning again - maybe this weekend since DH has to work. And then again...

Hi there everybody . . .

Certainly glad I got four or five hours of 'playing in the sun' yesterday because today -- nothing but rain -- and you do not want to hear me 'singing in the rain' -- trust me.

Congratulations on that nice NSV, COUNTING, and on having such a well trained DH . . .

Well . . . keep things moving and shaking today everybody . . .

Meowee, we could sing a duet and be the first ones to be kicked off 3fc for singing. Even cyber singing by me would be bad.

Another really beautiful day here. In fact, it was too hot in the house during the night last night.
