53 and too much of me!

Hi! I posted on the introduction page, but today I saw this over 50 page and said-that's the place for me!
I'm feeling frustrated and impatient for the weight to come off. I joined a gym recently and have been taking classes faithfully. When I don't go to the gym I walk 2 or 3 miles fast- 13 minute mile fast!:D
As I said on the intro page I eat really good food but too much of it I guess. I'm trying to cut back.
Yesterday I got my Z-Trim appetite suppressant capsules. I took one last night before dinner and I only ate steak and zucchini-no carbs! I LOVE carbs!
I belong to Self Diet .com and record all my workouts.
I just wish I would see a change faster.
When do you think it will begin to show?? I'm so impatient!
Here's my workout log from the Self page.

6/25/07 Walking, brisk 40 mins
6/24/07 Walking, brisk 40 mins
6/24/07 Walking, brisk 30 mins
6/22/07 Kickboxing 45 mins
6/21/07 Weight lifting, vigorous 60 mins
6/21/07 Weight lifting, moderate 30mins
6/20/07 Yoga, vigorous 60 mins
6/18/07 Weight lifting, vigorous 60mins
6/16/07 Yoga, vigorous 60 mins
6/13/07 Dancing, modern 60 mins
6/12/07 Walking, brisk 30 mins
6/11/07 Weight lifting, vigorous 60 mins
6/9/07 Yoga, vigorous 60 mins
6/3/07 Walking, brisk 40 mins
6/2/07 Yoga, vigorous 60 mins

I already decided the kickboxing class and dancing class aren't for me. I'm too uncoordinated! I just want to know that the other intense classes will start working soon!!!
Thanks for your opinions and advice. This is a great site!

You are doing a lot of exercise. How are you reducing your calories?

Hi KYOTODEB . . . welcome to the group . . . and :wel3fc:. You've come to the right place for lots of support on this journey to better health and fitness.

Hate to have to tell you this . . . but it isn't going to happen overnight . . . it does get more difficult as we get older (darn it all) . . . but it will happen . . . just remember that it was the tortoise that eventually won that race. :D

Definitely sounds like you've got the exercise thing licked (my weakness, I'm afraid). You should try to start tracking your food intake too (perhaps try FoodFit - a lot of the chicks around here swear by it - or perhaps your Self Diet group has a food log function?) Most of those 'experts' (whoever they are) seem to feel it really is about 80% eating less and 20% exercising more.

Good luck on the journey . . . we'll all be looking forward to getting to know your better. Have a great moving and shaking everning . . . :carrot:

PS -- Just read your profile page . . . congratulations on being a published author :high: BTW . . . Just noticed that your goal weight is 178 and that's only a pound from your current weight ??????

I eat really well until supper time. Then I have too big a portion. I don't eat much fat at all. My downfall is carbs. I have started eating fruit and am trying to add more protein to my diet. I was counting calories for a while and before supper I was up to about 700. Then I ate a big dinner and would end up at 1500 or 1600 at the end of the day. I couldn't eat my main meal at lunch since I teach 1st grade and get a brief lunch! Now that school is out I'm trying to eat earlier.

Thanks Meowee-I was replying to Bargoo's post and didn't see your welcoming post!:)
I know you're right-the weight didn't go on overnight and it won't come off that way either. I was just feeling frustrated!
