Jude: Thanks for the tracker information, I finally got it changed. I couldn't even get into the site yesterday? I'm so sorry that you were having a lousy day yesterday, sure hope it got better and that today will be great. You are doing great with your weight loss. We just sometimes hit a low especially at our age
Cheryl: I hate to hear that you too were having a rough day. Hope things are going better today.Good luck on your weigh-in at WW today.
Think we need this, now maybe we can all have a great week
It is day 2 of rain and it is supposed to be a little rough this evening and then more rain tomorrow. I'm beginning to think that being outdoors much this spring might not happen. The lawns sure do look pretty though and there are some daffodils blooming around town. My roses are getting lots of growth on them already. When that happens in Nebraska you can almost be sure we have one more doozy of a snow coming
I'd better get busy before I have to go to lunch, my lunch hour changed to 11:00 and I don't really like it. It is too early and makes for a really long afternoon, have to bring a snack with me and then hope I have time to get to it. Have a great day gals and I will be back later. DONNA

Good Evening
Hi everyone. Thanks for the hugs. Donna glad you got your tracker working and Cheryl how did WW go?
Along with spring comes all the Easter candy at work. Man I don't go to work to eat and be challenged. It sure makes it hard.
The next big struggle is my 27 year old daughter thinks she should move in with me to save some money. Hmmm. Not sure I want that. I am afraid she is in a tougher place than she is admitting. We are meeting tomorrow night to talk. In a perfect world I can see us getting along wonderfully. But it is not going to happen. I am not sure where I am at. I am really fussy. Am I being too fussy to help her or am I just being true to myself. I do not want to be all about me but it is tough to imagine. I live in a 1600 sq ft rancher townhouse. Not a big place. And there is a cat involved. I have been stressed all night about this. She wants to move in this weekend. Short notice. You know when it does not feel right but why would I not help for a while?? Any suggestions? Jude

Hello everyone, I've been feeling crummy the last couple days so not much for posting. I'm usually pretty healthy so this is kind of surprising. I took yesterday afternoon and evening off and am going to lay low again today...hopefully that will give my body time to recuperate.
A good friend of mine was planning on stopping by this afternoon with her 2 kids, one of which is a new baby I have yet to meet personally - I hated to cancel, but did last night as I didn't feel up to the visit PLUS I don't want to expose them to anything. I was kind of laughing to myself as my friend was disappointed that I cancelled and said if I felt better tomorrow (which is now today) then to call and they could still come over - can you say "new mom needs to get out of the house?"
Just checking in and to make sure everyone knows I'm supporting them
Hy

My suggestion Jude would be first to ask your DD to lay it on the line and tell you why she wants to move back in. You deserve an honest answer. That should help a bit with your stress level if for no other reason than you can focus then on what she actually said and not stress over "what if's". Totally understand that what she's asking is placing you in a difficult situation.
It also might be helpful for you, if you decide to let her move back home, to decide on a time limit you would feel comfortable with. Then tell her what that limit is before she moves back, and make sure this is understood clearly. Just for example, if you think you could handle 3 months, then tell her that's what you can offer her and during that time she can look for her own place. State at that time what the exact date of the end of the 3 month period would be.
Guess what I'm trying to suggest is to keep things upfront and open, so there's no confusion in the future about what was said and what wasn't. (I'm not at my best this AM with my flu-like symptoms so not communicating all that well myself here - hopefully I'm not confusing you now!!)
Even if you decide to let her move back in for a short time, I guess it's helpful also to approach your DD's situation by encouraging her to be out on her own and making that sound like a GOOD thing!!
Sending hugs your way
Hy

Hi Girls...Went to weight Watchers yesterday, but I didn't weigh-in. I just didn't want to face the scales, but will next week. I'm less stress as each day passes, so that's a good thing. I started moving my sewing things into the other bedroom on Monday and Tuesday, and today I moved them back. Just not enough room for all my sewing stuff, and I can't part with any of it. Anyway,it was good exercise for me.
Jude...I agree with the advice that Hy gave you. Set a time limit and also what the rules of the house will be, chores and any expenses you expect her to pay for. If you have to, put it in writting and have her sign it. This will make it less stressful for you in the long run. I know that as I get older, I like things done my way, and I like my SPACE.
Hy...Hope you are feeling better real soon.
Well girls, it's been raining buckets for the last couple of days. Boy did the wind blow lastnight and all day today. We are suppose to be back to the 30's
by the weekend with a chance of snow. I just pray we don't see any of the white stuff, it's been a very long winter and I want 70 degrees to get here.
Till Later~
Cheryl

Well my son resolved the DD issue as he talked her out of moving. So that takes care of that. I think that she is getting some help with some of her issues. I hope so. Thanks for all the support you guys. I have way to much family stuff going on. I have a brother that is an issue these days too. Why does everything go on at once. I do know that for the good side I seem to be getting somewhere with the hormone balancing and I lost 2 pounds this week and am now 223. Next goal is 221. Small steps. It is a journey and you guys are really helping. Thanks Jude.

Hi Ladies...I have been trying for the last couple of days to get here and post, but our server has been down. Finally got it back on line this afternoon.
I'm just about back to my old self, no pain between my shoulder blades, but my left eye still drives me NUTS twitching. Hopefully as the stress leaves my body, that too will go away. My Hubby is in the hospital with a bowel abstruction since yesterday morning at 1:30am. I didn't find out till 7am when the nurse called me. I was upset not to know sooner, but my DH didn't want to wake me up. He is doing much better today and has the tube out of his nose and getting to drink clear liquids. He is hoping for solid foods by tomorrow.
Ladies you wouldn't believe it, but I woke up to 2" of snow this morning, and 25 miles away had to deal with 8! It's 14 degrees, wind chill is -10. I'm sooooooo sick of the white stuff!!!
Jude...Glad things worked out with your DD. Way to go on your 2 lb loss. I'm still stuggling, but hope to get my act together by next week.

I've been way too busy to get here in awhile. I've missed you gals !!!
Jude: Sounds like you have had some decisions to make. Know I couldn't live with my grown DD in the house again, but glad to read that you may have solved that problem. Families are a wonderful thing to have but sometimes they are a pain in the Great job on losing 2 lbs.
Cheryl: Hope your DH is better real soon. Hospitals are not where you want to spend your Easter. Bowel obstruction sounds very painful.I saw on the weather that you were to get snow AGAIN!! we are supposed to have some tonight or tomorrow. WILL IT EVER END Our yard is so nice and green, in fact we mowed over the weekend, it was almost 80. I fertilized all my rose bushes now hope they don't get froze off. It is almost 10 AM and the temp is 28. I know that someday soon we will complain that it is too hot Lord I hope I'm right.
Well my weigh in this week said that I stayed the same, which is a good thing. I was reading on another weight loss sight that you can stay more motivated if you concentrate on how far you have come, not how far you have to go. I'm going to see if I can't do that more often. They also had an idea to reward yourself when you reach even a small goal. Get yourself some small inexpensive items and make grabbags in pretty wrapping. I thought if you could put them into a large clear bowl or jar then you could see them all the time. When you reach a goal, then reward yourself with a small gift. Guess I need to head for Dollar General !!!
Hy: Hope all is well with you. I saw that you had the flu or at least didn't feel well. Hope that has changed and you are " up and at em"
I hope to get back on here on Friday morning. So all of you have a great day and keep up your hard work!!!

Cheryl, I'm so sorry to hear about your DH having to be hospitalized - yes, I can see why you would have been upset and sick with worry!
I hope he is doing much, much better now?
Hugs,
Hy

Me checking in...I've been out of it with whatever the heck that deal was that I had - mostly extreme (and I do mean extreme) exhaustion symptoms. Fortunately I was able to just go to bed and sleep for a few days and that seemed to take care of it!!! I was beginning to wonder if I had Mono or something like that!
Getting back to feeling "good" once I resumed exercising took some time - I started back on my walks but the energy level was VERY low at first. Well, that is how life works, right girls Looking forward to feeling more energized as I build up again.
I've stayed on the beginning phase of the South Beach Diet now going into the second month. (Start date was March 01) It's easy for me to do, so I'm not feeling deprived or "bored" or anything. Just reporting what has worked for me - not advocating that everyone else has to do it "My way or the Highway" lol!! I did lose another 2.5 pounds this past week, so it's starting to make a difference - I've definitely gone down a jeans size.
I was also having computer issues last week and this week; it was an equipment malfunction. All is well again :-)
Thanks everyone for the get well wishes - they worked!! I really appreciated them too.
Have a good day all,
Hy

Happy Easter
Thanks everyone for all the support about my daugther. I appreciate you saying Donna that you would not want to have your DD back at home. I feel guilty that I do not want her around. Safer at a distance. She is really coming undone and she says she is taking care of it. The tone in her voice of course is that I caused it. What else is new.
I hope everyone's health is getting better. Maybe we will get some sun and everything will look better. Not so great here either.
Cheryl hope your DH is getting better. That would be a fright. Take care of yourself.
Today is Easter and it is me and the computer for the day lol. I went out to the store and bought myself a bunch of daffodils. My son is at work and he may call later. He is really worried about his sister too and so then he worries about me. We did talk about getting together but I will wait to see if he calls.
So I hope this Sunday finds you all well. I have the next week off. Yahoooo!
I weigh in tomorrow morning. Think I have lost but only because I have been feeling a little too stressed to eat. That kind of loss does not stay off.
So I am going to watch the Amazing Race tonight and will be thinking of you all. Take care and thanks for being here.

Hey there, I am so blasted upset with my computer or this program I don't know which to blame. I have been able to read but not post. What's up with that? Kept wanting me to log in but wouldn't accept my information.
Oh well I'm back. Hope all of you had a very Happy Easter. We went to our
youngest daughters in Colorado. Terribly cold and it snowed on Sunday.
I weighed in on Saturday morning before we left and I had lost 4 lbs, BUT
I had had diarrhea for 18 hours before. Don't think that loss will hold up but I sure liked seeing those numbers pop up on the scale. At least now I know my scale CAN go lower! I'm trying really hard to hold it down there but it wants to creep up.
JUDE: You are doing great I'm so proud of you.
HY: Glad you are starting to feel better. Did you ever find out why so tired?
Take your time on getting back into the routine, you don't want to crash again. Good Luck.
CHERYL: Tell me you are ok? How is your hubby getting along? I just know that summer is coming just don't know when !!!!
I'm getting so tired of gloomy weather. Had showers this morning and it looks like it could start up again. They say tomorrow will be sunny but then they say we will get snow at the end of the week. Can't decide what to get to wear to granddaughter's graduation, Spring outfit or Winter? It's only a month away, so who knows. Don't think I'm going to get in too big a hurry to go shopping.
Looks like the Orkin Man is here so had better run. Talk to you soon.

Hi Ladies...Thank you so much for your kind thoughts. My DH is doing much better, but his tummy is pretty tender. Yesterday he had to go straight from work to the hospital to have a dye test done. I couldn't believe it took four hours! We will find out next week the results, and I hope it shows what is causing the blockage.
I know ladies I told you I was going to take a break from doing Foster Care, well I did get two weeks. We got a 4 year old boy on Thursday, and it has been pretty interesting. I have been kicked numerious times and called . Going to stick with the tuff love and hopefully it will turn this little guy around.
Donna...Congrats on the 4 lbs. Not a great way to loose, but I hope you keep the loss anyway. Finally got someone out here to fix the internet today. I haven't been able to get on since I last posted, turned out we needed a new modem. Soooooooooooo frustrating!!! I had the whole weekend to be able to surf the net and couldn't. Donna, it started snowing this afternoon and we have about 6" of the I am sick, sick, sick of the stuff!! Give me rain, give me hail, anything but snow!!!!!
Jude... on your loss. I'm hoping for a loss tomorrow. Point 2 would even be nice. Will let you know tomorrow.
Hy...How are you feeling? I forgot how much running after little ones can be.
I'm on the go from 7 till I put him to bed at 8, and I'm really happy to see 12:30 when he goes down for a nap. It's amazing how 15 minutes of shut eye can recharge you.
I saw the eye surgeon this afternoon, and I go back in two weeks to have the growth removed. The doctor said I would have a couple of stitches and it shouldn't come back.
Have a great evening.

Hi there -- I just spent a few minutes reading through some of the posts. Hopefully you have room for another over 50 fat female LOL.
My name is Joanne -- I live in Vancouver BC (Hi Jude!!) I am 51 and currently living with my sweetie enjoying a life with no children at home. I lost 35 pounds last year by counting calories and exercising more -- hoping to add another 30 to that loss before the end of the year.
