Yes, Aimee, isn't it lovely having a nice long weekend before the snows set in!

Thanks for the wishes, Apryl and Gayle ~ I'm celebrating the fact that I have so much to give thanks for and that I know enough to appreciate it to the max!

I'm getting up early and going to work for 8 hours today, but I'm getting paid 200 bucks for working! Plus, I get a VERY nice 4 day work week...

Jillegal - don't hurt me... but I don't really get snow ... however, I'm origionally a Prairie gal... so I do know what you are talking about!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We had our Thanksgiving family do on Saturday. I ate very sensibly and drank very un-sensibly! Today is gonna be a nice relaxing one with hubby.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Sorry I'm late; I hope you all had a wonderful holiday filled with love, family, and hopefully not too much stuffing, mashed potatoes, or pie!

Jilly, does this mean that you gave poor George a break from all the renovations, and allowed him a festive reprieve before the slavedriver returned??

Hey, hope you had a great w/e. I was on call for work so we didn't travel. We live about 3 hours from family. I went to church solo for a change and actually got to hear the sermon. On consumerism and how "its never enough". Very thought provoking. Had the most relaxing holiday dinner in awhile. Just had friends over for dinner. It was really nice. My 6 year old has been making "thankful" drawings. Nice to see. Hope you all are well.

Well it certainly won't be turkey tonight...

We've had family functions for the past two days. Saturday was all day in Port Alberni with Rudy's family (stayed on plan that day, despite the dessert TABLE)
And yesterday was at my Mom's house with my side of the family (did NOT stay on plan...but it was planned I'm actually very proud to have chosen only one of the days! I do have to say that it was hard to fall asleep last night because my tummy hurt...haven't felt that in a while...thank goodness.

Overall a wonderful family fun-filled weekend and an EXTRA long weekend because the teachers are on strike in BC right now, so they got Friday off...I need to find out about tomorrow!
GO TEACHER'S

HAPPY THANKSGIVING,
Linda

We used to always get a glass of wine or beer on Christmas Eve at my house. Was always a big treat. One year my brother gave the dog some beer and he hiked his leg on the Christmas tree and went all over the presents. LOL

Had a lovely Thanksgiving here. The big family dinner was on Sunday and I ate more than I planned, but less than I expected (if you know what I mean). The temptations were incredible, so I ate those things that I don't eat any other time of the year (like pumpkin pie) and didn't bother with ordinary stuff like potatoes and dinner rolls. Did well on the liquor front ~ had one glass of red wine with dinner and one glass of white wine afterwards (the dog didn't get any)

Saturday was spent running back and forth to Home Depot and watching George have fun playing with all his new toys...err, I mean tools, as he slaved away on the house. I spent all Sunday morning cooking, most of Sunday afternoon/evening eating, and Sunday night playing charades with the family (one of my "Movie Titles" was "Elephant Man" and when I tried to portray an elephant trunk George shouted out the title of a well known porno flick ~ in front of my parents!)

Today it was just the two of us relaxing at home, and I actually let George watch some football on T.V. but put him to work for awhile later...
