The most excersice I got this week was painting my room. I do say it turned out cute tho!!! So, all of you who are on track- I say CONGRATULATIONS! Well, the lightning is closer, and they say you shouldn't play on the puter in a lightning storm, so goodnight. I will try to check back tomorrow with something positive to say!!

Well, I am making a much better effort but the scale is not impressed enough to reward me yet. But it is healthier I know than the scarfing snacks plan I was on... What I dope I was most of the summer!

So now I've got August..... nearly 15 pounds heavier than last August...and I've been on a diet the whole time lol, No, I know I have not been living the healthly living lifestyle that I know makes all the difference, both in my physical and mental health. I know that everything I put in my mouth is significant and tells my self something about how I feel about myself {I like myself and I'm treating myself with respect = I eat healthy and make good choices} The opposite makes for the chronic bad choices.

I'm happy that you gals are still with me, and that we've never given up, even when the scales went up...We all know what to do...What better time to start yet again or even give a little extra if we're all ready making progress. Today is afterall, the first day of the rest of our lives!

Good morning ladies,

We are all ready for a healthy Aug. aren't we? Let's make today & every day in Aug. a good one so we can look back in Sept. & know we worked hard. We can do it.

Mailwhale, your positive attitude is great. Keep it up & the scale will smile soon.

Flower, get away from the chips!!! They will kill your efforts, but keep up with the water. Living in the heat you live in I would think that wouldn't be too hard as long as you don't drink soda. You can get on track again.

I have been busy with the kids. My efforts are doing well & suprise, surprise I'm still motivated & working & seeing results. The scale is smiling on me. It is very slow but very steady too. I hate the slow but I do love that it has been a steady loss. I am still exercising every morning 1st thing. (If I don't do it the second I get up it never happens. ) The water is going well & I am watchhing & journaling all I put into my mouth. I hate to journal but it is really helping me to think about even the little tastes.

I want us all to succeed. Have a wonderful day & make good choices.

Mailwhale- HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you and Brian. I do hope you have a good time together today and hopefully the next year will bring you more smiles than the last one.

A warning-cherry citrus MT Dew slurpees are really good. I don't care for the regular MT Dew slurpees, but the red ones are addicting!!!!! I walked to 7-11 just to get one this morning w/ Griffin. I had one yesterday morning too. And honestly, I have a free coupon so I will get another one tomorrow too when I pick up the Sunday paper. But I am walking every day this week. I guess it is better than chocolate each day huh?

I did the most interesting thing last night. We went to the Rio Hotel/casino and saw the show DE La Guarda. It is a take off from a New York show. (aren't they all?) It is standing room only. You are in a warehouse room. The walls are black, the ceiling looks like tent material. You stand elbow to elbow w/ many strangers. First you hear b-bs hitting the ceiling. Then a black light comes on. Things keep running across the ceilings. Then things drop onto the ceiling. Furry things, creepy crawlers, then finally balloons. Then they pop. You see shadows of people on bungee cords swooping down. The ceiling starts to give away. Hands poke thru. Then the ceiling is gone for about 40 feet. There are people on bungee cords everywhere. They do skits ect...Then it rains and fogs and mists. We are drenched. (now I know why phones and purses, wallets were to be locked in lockers) Then they wall walked and danced w/ the audience. At this point it was more like an interactive wet rave. Very interesting!!!! The Vegas show closes tonight. Who knows what city will be next. It was about an hour and 15 minutes long. The price normally is 90 for out of towners. 2 for 90 for locals. But w/ my girl friends employee discount, we each got in for 10$. There we 5 of us. We went to an Italian restaurant for dinner. I would much rather have something else for that kind of money so I was good. I had a side of Brucetta and a chicken Ceasar salad. And iced water. It was good. Pricey-15$ for just that. I don't even want to know fat/calories. I had the healthiest meal there though. Friends had cheesy stuff and fillets ect.... At least mine was made w/ olive oil.

~hope you all are doing okay. Haven't heard a peep out of you for days. Mailwhale-are your kids in school ft this year? ~audri

That show sounds interesting...odd...I don't know...did you enjoy it? Sometimes the healthiest thing on the menu is the best you can hope for...sounds like you made a good choice. I've been making better choices lately - thankfully. Even hubby says he wants to "diet" so that helps that I can at least chat about it lightly around him and feel like he is mildly interested. We went to Grand Coulee Dam yesterday and watched the laser show on the spillway walls in the evening...it is very impressive. We drove the 100 miles home afterward and witnessed a very impressive metor shower...no moon out last night and no city lights for many miles...I've not seen the milky way that clearly since I was a kid. We got out of the car in the middle of no where (central Washington state) and just ooooo'd and ahhhhhh'd! really cool!

Well, I'm thinking of adding vultures to my stork business...for 40th and 50th b-days. So I'm hunting for a stork image to use. I've not found a good one yet. I need a really clear character, not too simple, yet not too busy...good expression on his face. I've searched clip art files everywhere, today I'm gonna start looking at on-line greeting cards...but if anyone comes across a good one in a card shop or anywhere, let me know!

Looking forward to a healthy week, and a healthy loss! Katrina

Yeh-I liked the show. I wasn't sure I was going to. I am more of the wall flower type. But it was kinda fun in a wierd sort of way.

I will keep an eye out for your vulture! Sounds like a wonderful idea. I will check my clip art discs. ~aud

I think I've found an image I like, two weeks into this I finally started searching under "buzzard" and there he was, I've been re-drawing the image....working on his expression and refining his shape. I've reserved time at the library tomorrow on the over-head projector so that I can enlarge the image and make a pattern of scale for cutting out.

I'm thinking maybe of a big colorful peacock for other birthday's and announcements, and maybe some wedding bells with love birds atop for weddings and anniversaries...I don't really know how much I should expand. I'd really like my storks to just be the main thing...but making and painting extra signs is fun and does not cost too much except a whole lot of time...so I might just as well....

How goes the bead business Aud???

I'm down a few...I should also be dedicating a bit more energy to that... hmmm

I can so relate Mailwhale! I am in an organization/housework mode. (well, not yesterday) I am not giving excersice a thought! I want this house clean and organized before the kids go back to school. (30th) Then I am going to walk Riley to school each day. Cameron is off to middle school. I feel so old!

As for beads...I need someone to help me watch Griffin so I can work on it. Chris has been busy himself working and then helping the boys on their bikes. There is not enough time in the day. We canceled cable and caller id, call waiting ect... Those things added up to over 75 extra a month. They haven't officially turned off the cable so everyone is glued to the boob tube to get our fix for however long it will be before we hook up again. Maybe we can go w/out indefinately. We needed some extra money to pay more towards bills. We forgot about an old medical bill.

I got a few books for the library on organization and frugel tips. I want to find some crock pot recipes too. It has been so warm to cook here. I made a turkey roast yesterday and had to start it at 7 am so the house wouldn't be too hot in the afternoon. They are replacing the gas lines this week sometime so theres a chance I won't have a stove or oven for 24 + hours. Thats okay if I know about it. We have lots of electric gizmos to cook in.

Well, I am still trying to eat less. I just got to work on the moving more part! ~aud

Oh, I like my buzzard! He is really fun!

I've come a long way in the organizing of the home...but still feel like I have a long way to go. Oprah had someone on this week that has some books I should check out. Which books did you get and which is the most helpful?

A tip from Heloise I read a while back was the rule of 5's... everyday she tries to get rid of 5 things somewhere...throw out five old things in the fridge, get rid of 5 pieces of junk in the junk drawer, organize 5 misplaced items in the garage...I think that was how it went. I think what I currently need the most help with is giving my kids reasonable tasks and helping them learn to do stuff that helps me. Laundry is a biggy, so nightly when they go to bed all laundry must be put in the basket. Oh, it just goes on and on though!

Well, eat right this weekend, don't go to bed regreting what you put in your mouth! (self pep talk!)

Yesterday we renewed our Sam's club membership. I really need to use it more often. It saves us a lot when we do big shopping. It doesn't do much good when we are trying to feed five on 50 a week. Okay- I haven't ever fed us for 50 but they say it can be done. (some do it for that much for a month) I spent some money at Walmart too. But I did good. I saw the craft tent I want at Sam's but it is 199. Not in the budget. It is the pitched roof w/ the 3 fabric sides. A free coupon to mail in to get the iron on business name decal. 10x10. But I went back to Riteaide and got the 10x10 gazebo for 26.99 instead. It has the vinal top no sides, but it will do till I bring money in. I had to go to 3 locations till I found it again. The first 2 were sold out. I was almost in tears. I have to have a tent to do my show in Sept. I am so relieved!

I am starting to walk daily again in 2 weeks. I am slowly easing into it. I have been pulling Griffin in his wagon nightly. I am walking tomorrow w/ my friend at the park. But I must do it daily. Thankfully Riley will need me to walk w/ him to school. I have no choice but to walk him.

I am going to get on the scale in a little bit. I am soooooo afraid! I got the sample magazine of quick cooking. I love it! By the makers of Taste of Home. They have a Light and Tasty publication too. I asked them for a sample. It is on it's way. Hopefully I will like it as well.

Kare Free where are you???????? Dolphin? anyone? Sandy? Come and post! ~aud

Hello, sorry I haven't been coming around as much lately. Been busy getting ready for company. 2 people I met on the boards are coming to visit. Don't know if you remember Way2 and Foxy. Way2 will be here in a little while and Foxy is coming tomorrow, they will be here for a week. We're going to our house in NH tomorrow and will stay there. This should be fun. I met Foxy once before for a little while never met way2 before.

My daughter is engaged to be married. Just happened last week. The plan to get married Sept. 2002, so that should keep me on track if I have to be in a wedding. So a lot has been happening around here lately.

Flower & mailwhale, you sound like you are both doing good. Keep it up. Take care and I'll try to post more when I get back from NH.
