Hey folks! After reading another thread about whether it was harder to change your eating or exercising, I was thinking it would be fun to start an exercise challenge for those of us who can get the eating down but have trouble finding time or getting motivated. Mostly for those of us who certainly aren't in the kind of shape to be running marathons or spending an hour at a time on the elliptical...you know, those of us that are kind of "just starting out" exercise-wise. I figure it should be something simple, so I was thinking mayble something like getting a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise for 30 days. It could be anything from using a machine to playing tetherball with the kids...just something to get you moving for at least 30 minutes. We can use this thread to report in every day and tell others what we did with our 30 minutes--hopefully we should be able to give each other great exercise ideas! So what do you guys think?? If you're interested we can start today--one of us can start a new thread every date labeled something like "30 Minutes/30 Days July 1st Report" where everyone reports what they did for that day--sound good? All feedback appreciated.
Can I play too? 30 minutes a day sounds like a good minimum. I actually enjoy exercise, I just don't have the motivation to get started. (The best part is after it's over, when you're all glowy and proud of yourself and done for the day.)
I just came back from grocery shopping---bought $150.00 of low-glycemic index foods. Lots of berries, old fashioned oatmeal, oat bran, oranges, high fiber w. grain bread, skim milk, chicken, salmon, and salad stuff, oh yeah, and laundry soap!
