Default Morning Munchies

Does anyone suffer from morning munchies??? I have noticed that I more hungry in the morning than in the afternoon. I usually have a stick of string cheese with celery. And I am starving by lunch. I have been drinking my water chicks. lol

Should I add a boiled egg or something to that effect?? Yogurt is out since it gives me cravings.

Wenchy, that's the weirdest thing I've ever heard! You must be the only person I know who doesn't get the 4 o'clock munchies! (or do you get those, too?)

Yes, let's see what you're having for breakfast...

How about a snack of skim milk mid-morning? You could make a latte and have it with your coffee?

Wenchy, I don't eat eggs, so I don't know how filling the quiche cups are...but I'd add more veggies and more protein. How about some canadian bacon or some turkey bacon? And I'd make an omelet or scrambled eggs with a cup of veggies. I think that's the issue.

Perhaps instead of celery, you can have a whole pepper with hummus?

Hi Wenchy ~

I usually find that if I eat eggs with mushrooms, onions, and a slice of canadian bacon I am NOT that hungry in the morning. Sometimes at 10:00 I am thinking that I am not hungry but need to eat a snack. I find that my strongest "munchie" time is around 3-5 in the evenings. ((((good luck hug))))

OK Wenchy you are not the only one who has the morning munchies.

I think, with Laurie's help, that I have figured it out though. I'm just not eating enough in the morning for the exercise I am doing. I'm not a morning person and food really upsets my stomach in the morning so I don't eat very much and by snack time I am really hungry so I am going to try to eat about the same amount for breakfast and snack (which isn't much) for a couple of days and see if that is what my problem is.

So it's NOT just you, Wenchy!

You know, I was just reading my new running book. (did I tell you I started running again yesterday?)
There was a suggestion for those who have trouble eating an early breakfast... that it's okay to take your breakfast to work with you, and eat it at 9:00 AM.
Just a thought...

And the latte thing is a good idea, Ruth. I have two or three coffees in the morning, and I use strong coffee with 1/3 milk.

Wenchy, how late is your last food intake before sleeping the night before? Throughout my life I have always found that if I eat late/later I am hungrier in the mornings than if I cut off the food at a certain time.

Even in the past, before I was educated on nutrition etc. and changed my way of eating to healthy, and now too, I noticed that if I went to bed a little hungry, I was not hungry in the AM, and vice versa - make sense???

I would suggest adding a little protein to your veggie cups, and perhaps some more mile to your coffee if you drink it that way.

Let us know what works for you, as this scenario may be affecting others, too.

I dont have a problem eating breakfast, I just dont think I am eating enough.

I am starting to think I am going to have to start waking up earlier in the morning to make me some breakfast.

Going to try veggie omlet, some turkey bacon, and tomato juice tomm morning.
Laurie, I would try the hummus and whole pepper, but I don't like peppers.
