Welcome! I'm fairly new here, too, but I've found it a great help to read the postings. It seems to make me more conscious of what I'm eating and how much I exercise.
Everyone is very supportive here. And there are lots of threads. Just find a group with which you have something in common. Are you using a particular diet plan? Limiting fat? Limiting sugar? I think I saw a group of people in their 20's. I'm a member of a group of 30+ year olds, hoping to get fit by forty. But any group will be glad to have you.
And I wouldn't dump the boyfriend. Just make a pact with him that you need him to support you morally while you are losing the weight, and that you could use his help, too. It might bring you two closer. Or, you're going to find out that kind of person he really is isn't as good as you deserve, and you might not want to be around him anymore. My husband is trying to lose weight too, and so we walk together every evening. It's great. Since we've started doing this, we've been having some really good discussions instead of just sitting in front of the TV.
