Default Is tomato sauce / "spaghetti" sauce allowed in Phase I?

I'm sorry for the questions.... I just was planning on making something tonight and adding some tomato sauce. THANKS!

Yes it is...BUT just make sure that you read the ingredients label on the brand that you buy. Some brands add sugar. Make sure that you find a brand that has only the tomatoes in it. I usually make my own spaghetti sauce because of the 'extras' that are often in the canned ones.

By the way, SBD has really taught me to watch for the hidden sugars in foods. It is one of the ways that I have really learned and succeeded to cut sugar out of my diet.

Thanks Sweet Tooth!!! That's good to know... I'm pretty good at decifering those labels.... and I have a Trader Joes near me. They tend to stock foods with no added "ingediants."

As always, Peggy hit it right on the nose! However, for those of us on the run, Hunt's tomato sauce, while not fancy, is sugar free. You can always jazz it up by adding spices and such.

I love Carb Options pasta sauce. It's made with Splenda and is really good. I like it better than a lot of pasta sauces I've had. It's really good on top of chicken with some mozzarella sprinkled on top.
