Default Valentine's Day New-Year Challenge

Valentine's Day is 45 days into the New Year - can we stick with our New Year's resolutions for that long? If you want to join in for the first challenge of 2005 - post your goals and progress here! Whether you want to be at your goal weight, wear a smaller pant size, beat your personal best time, or trim inches off your waist (or maybe all of the above) - this is the place to gain and give motivation! The challenge doesn't officially begin until 2005 - but don't be afraid to get an early start!

Last year, I went from 230 lbs. in January to 197 by the end of March - it was an awesome time for me and my weight loss - I'm hoping to recreate that in 2005 too! If I can maintain from now until the new year at 167, I'd like to aim high and set my goal weight on 2/14/05 as 155, for a 12 lb. loss and 100 lbs. lost overall! I'd also like to set up some fitness goals - including running the 5k twice a week and improving my time (which is currently 29:58). I'd also like to be comfortably wearing a size 10 pair of jeans by then as well.

Well, I don't think I can make 155, but I'll aim for a 10-pound loss to 169 (This is all hinging on maintaining over the holidays). It's time for me to get really serious about this weight loss, and nothing like a new year for motivation! Good luck everyone!

That is funny that we all have the same goal! It will be good to help eachother along thru each and every pound loss If I excercise, I know that this challenge will be easy, it is just hard to find time between work and family to excercise. I know it is a cop out and I plan on getting back into the gym next month-of course that is one of my New Year's Resolutions. The other is to not use my credit cards, I think I will freeze them

well I wouldn't mind joining in. My goal is to run 3 times a week (3 miles at the least each time) and increase my speed. Right now I do 3 miles in 35 minutes. And beable to run a 10k regardless of my time. I also woudn't mind being at 137 by then. That would mean a 8lb lose. I also want to make sure to get atleast 3 bottles of water a day. If I drink other things that is fine but no less then that amount of water. Good luck everyone

Gabwill - 30 bottles of water?!?! How big are these bottles? Be careful because too much water drunk too quickly can be dangerous. I'd love to be able to run a 10k - good luck to you on that!
Jdogg - you'll be aiming for 155 soon enough - being in the 160s is an awesome feeling and once you're there you'll be so close to goal!

Hmm well considering my stunning success with my christmas goal.. I think maybe I should defer it to February! So count me in for a 155 on the 14th! If I make it, I will let myself buy a singlet/t-shirt at the Velvet Revolver concert on the 17th!

I'm definitely in! My goal is to be at 122 by V-Day More importantly, I hope to stick with strength training ~3X/week, in addition to near daily walks and/or gym runs!

Default Hello

Did everyone have a good nite? Mine was pretty good. We went to Mexican, though-I think that is one of my major downfalls the food and the margaritas! They will get you every time. Now my objective is just to make it thru Christmas without gaining the weight back that I have lost!

eyereenah~I have the same new year's resolution of going to the gym 5 times a week. That shouldn't be too hard, we should keep track of eachother so that we are held accountable! I will have to go before work at like 5 a.m., but it will all be worth it in the end.

BrunetteChic_2000~This will also be my first 3FC challenge completed, I think with everyone's help we can do this together!

SweetLife~Sounds like you are on track to your goal, I need to be as active as you are and mabey the weight would come off!

Vero~good luck to you, I know you can do it, we can all make that 15 pounds come off with everyone's encouragment!!!

gabwill~I wish I could get my running up to 3 miles, that is a real accomplishment, I know you will make your goal!

jdoggmartin~good luck to you, I am not far behind you-it was only last week I was at 165, I know you can do it. Try to stay strong thru the holidays!

jenicra~Thanks for starting this goal, I really needed an excuse to get my butt into gear. A 100lb. loss is a huge deal, I hope that you have a treat for yourself after losing all of that weight. The biggest treat will be wearing clothes comfrotably, like you said. I think that is one of the worst things about being overweight, trying to stuff yourself into clothes that just don't fit anymore. Good luck to you, I know you will make your 100 lb. loss and we will all be so proud of you!

OK girls, off to do some work. Yes, I have to be at work today Everyone have a great morning and I will talk to you later!

i'll try for 140 by v-day, which is my next mini goal... but i'd really love to break into the 130's. we'll see. so, the plan is the same - eat well, cardio 5-6 days a week, strength training 3 days a week. i had my body fat measured two weeks ago, so by v-day i'd like to have lost another 3%.
