Question A Good Thing or A Bad Thing???

I have been sick for 4 days now with a very very sore throat. Which has only allowed me to eat yogourt and chicken noodle soup for 4 days. In these 4 days I have dropped almost 6 pounds which is getting me closer to being UNDER 300lbs which is what I have been waiting for .. I am just scared once I can actually eat solid foods again it'll come back like wildfire ....the last few days I have a yogurt in the morning .. soup at lunch and a yogurt for supper ... suprizingly I'm not starving .. maybe it is because I am sick ... I try to force my self to eat something other than that but I know how much it'll hurt try to swallow solid food so I don't even bother ... talk about discipline!

I'm not sure where I am going with this message ... but I just wanted to get it off my shoulders .... I am proud that I am losing the weight .. but should I be concerned about how little I am eating and if I go back to normal eating will it all come back .. hmmm ... maybe I'll just only eat yogurt and soup from now on LOL

I guess we'll just have to see ... I am going to fight to keep off what I have lost so far .. I want to be under 300 so bad! I know I can do it ...!!!! hehe anywayssssss enough ramlbing from me ....

Hi Dawn, I think you should just allow your illness to run it's course. Don't worry too much about eating enough. There's a reason why you're not very hungry, and believe me, your body will let you know when it's ready for some real food again! Just don't let being sick derail your efforts, as soon as you can get right back to your routine. Also, a word of caution, don't be surprised if the scale doesn't move for a week or two after you're better, or even bounces back up a pound or two. This will probably be a shock to your system and it may need some time to adjust. You just keep plugging along, and you'll be fine. I hope you feel better soon!

Take care,
Beverly

If you are taking any type of decongestant, they are appetite suppressants. I am always amazed how not hungry I feel when I'm on them.

Concentrate on getting well. You're sick. When I'm sick, I gain weight but I know it will come right back off once I'm healthy. When you're sick, you lose weight - but I would expect to gain it right back. And if you don't? Bonus!

ahhh that would explain why 2 yogurt and a bowl of soup fill me up right now! I have been taking decongestant .. that makes sense now

I thought I was feeling better, my throat seemed to hurt no more .. but in the last hour or so .. it started bothering me again .. darn it

I am going out of town tomorrow for 2 job interviews and I was hoping I would be healty by Monday so they didn't think I sounded so sickly LOL

Yuck!! Being sick stinks! Hopefully your illness will run its course soon Dawn. I agree with what everyone else has posted. A trip to the doctor might be in order if it does not improve in a couple more days. You might have an infection of sorts.

I'm sorry you are so sick.. I hate hate being sick myself.. ick. If you want to continue your weight loss as you get better, your appetite will increase, but try keeping the core of your meal the same, having soup first for lunch and dinner, and then try having a salad? Both really help you eat less at your meals. And of course, lean protein, every dieter's best friend.. keeps you fuller longer, all that fun stuff. I remember getting "addicted" to soup a few years ago, it helped me drop the extra pounds I was carrying at the time. Feel better soon
