What do you have in mind ? I find that this time of year tends to slow me down - I love fall but it's like I'm getting ready to hibernate !!

So, yeah ! I am ready to get fired up about something, anything !

Yeah, it's easy to get the fall slow-down, I figured I couldnt be the only one.

I was thinking that like previous challenges headed by our lovely Sarah and Celina, we could all make a plan that starts tomorrow and ends next Sunday, and report daily on how we've done, and on our woes and motivations.

I'm new to the site so I don't know about previous challenges. I am finding myself in a true slump right now. Depressed: a bit; wanting to eat chips: a lot. You know how it goes !

I checked out your blog ('cuse me 'cause I don't know what that stands for. in my business that is a large binary object) . I felt very connected even if I am almost twice your age. I am sooooo proud of you ! Keep up the good work at the gym ! You can and will meet your goals ! Don't get discouraged if you "misbehave" sometimes. We tear ourselves up too much over these moments and then we let ourselves slip back into the same old crappy habits. (At least you have good taste - Grey Goose beats Popov hands down !)

A weekly challenge. I definitely like the idea. It only holds you to one week. Surely we can do that ! If you have suggestions, I'll be glad to try them and to contribute a few of my own.

Well laydeeees, I'd like an exercise one for me because I find it hard!!! I'm going to do 4 x 30 mins before next Sunday. My water drinking leaves somrthing to be desired so I'll have 2 litres a day minimum.

Woo hoo, Dana!! You go starting a challenge -- DANA'S TAKING THE BULL BY THE HORNS, AND LEADING THE PACK!

Ok, I'm in. I've been having some pretty serious breathing problems, and my exercise has had to go on the back burner. The doc said to stop altogether, but I think I can do a little more, so I'm going to commit here to doing the following:
  • Walk 5 miles with my Walk Away the Pounds tapes and a 6 lb. pair of hand weights -- right now I only have breath for one mile, so I'm committing to 5 sessions this week
  • One weights session, using free weights and my CrossBow. If I can successfully complete the first one (again, breathing is the problem) then I'll do two more, for a total of three during the week. (But I'll have to play it by ear, as I am now ruled by my lungs!)
Here's to SUCCESS to all participants! It sure would be great if all of us could meet each one of the commitments we state here in this week-long challenge -- but the real success is in the PROGRESS! So let's all do our best, and surprise ourselves with our own resolve. It's all a process, isn't it?

Default Count me in

I'd love to check in weekly w/anyone who is interested. I'm in 5th week of maintenance on Weight Watchers, meaning I have reached my goal weight and am working (struggling) to stay w/in 2 pounds of that goal. If I can make it 2 more weeks, I will become a lifetime member.

Maintenance is much harder than I expected. I think I've gotten sloppy about tracking all my food.

Would welcome encouragement/support from others.

Thanks--
Elana

I am in. I have been struggling with what to do to lose this weight. Going in all different directions. I think I have decided to count calories and if that doesn't work for me go back to points with WW. I think my DH gets tired of me changing my mind on what I want to do. I go spend all this money for things for a diet and last about 2 days and go off. To restrictive for me. This week I have been trying Slimfast. Pretty good stuff. I am sticking to it somewhat, just to eat the food I bought for it. I enjoy the meal & snack bars. So, been using those. I think it is giving me a jump start. Sorry to drag on. Seems I am in a slump and need some pumping up.
So, my goals for the week will be:
--Drink my water (at least 4 glasses, don't drink but1 now)
--Exercise (get back to Curves and Walk away the pounds on none Curves days).
Just little changes for now.
Good luck everyone and talk to y'all tomorrow.

Kgirl- Hey! i'm sorry, I didn't notice that you were new! I'm glad you've joined us. I'd love to hear more about you! And thanks so much for the encouragement. It was real nice of you to cheer me on, I really do appreciate it! Now it's our turn to do it for you. As for the week plan, if you're just starting out it's a great way to start. What do you have in mind? I'm sure we can all give you suggestions if you need some, too.

Annie Rose, good luck with your exericse program! Can't wait to hear how it goes. And water is important too! Good luck.

Sarah, you are the awesomest! Be real careful with the exercise though. I'm sure you can do it but don't push too hard! I won't be silly and nag, but I don't want my big nosed guy to get hurt. Good luck (not that you'll need it, you ALWAYS rock the weight loss charts)

Elana, thanks for joining! Good luck this week. Almost a lifetime member of WW is going to be such a milestone! That is awesome. And if you need any encouragement, you've come to the right place.

Chipper, as they always say, just take it a day at a time! You can really do it. I'm sort of in a slump too, and figured I probably wasn't the only one. Good luck this week! I'm rooting for you.

I'm going to aim for every day at the gym, but my big thing is going to be the water. I MUST have four 34 oz bottles because I am SLACKING big time. As for food, I'm setting few rules: NO STRAYING except for Chinese on Friday. (I have Chinese every friday night. If i didn't, i'd go crazy!) I'd just like to stay around 1500 calories. No iced caramel lattes.

Good luck everyone!

edit to add good luck to Gen too! you must've posted while I was typing this. yay for you joining in on the fun!

Welcome kgirl! Glad to have you join us!

I'm actually doing pretty well with exercise, but my water intake leaves a bit to be desired, soooooo....I'm gonna shoot this week for minimally four glasses of water, though I often use bottles which ends up being more than a glass. We'll see how it goes.

Sarah, what's up with the breathing problems????

Hey there, LakeGirl! Have you tried breaking up your water into different time-specific milestones? That technique has been really effective for me: I drink from a large 44 oz. glass, and make sure that I've had one full glass before lunch, and another before the end of work. (I will already have had 20 oz. at home in the morning, and then I'll have about another 40 or so when I get home after work.) When I was first teaching myself to drink water, I'd set "must have drunk by" time goals for my 20 oz. water bottles, and that really helped me work up to my current daily intake.

As for my breathing, well I'm not going to hijack the thread with it, but I've been having trouble since an upper respiratory infection I had last February, and it's gotten progressively worse. I kept going to one of those Immediate Care clinics, and it didn't help at all -- now my cardiovascular health is lousy, I just wheeze, pant, spit up awful things and I can't take a deep breath at ALL. I also have a swollen lymph node, so the doc thinks there must be some infection. I don't want to go on about it. I talk about it more in my blog, but I'll just finish up by saying that I trust this new doc, and I'll know more once I go to the pulminary specialist mid-October. Thanks for interest! It especially sucks because it just completely put the kabash on my exercising, which has really just completely stalled my loss! I'm sure it will all work out -- I'm sure it's nothing life-threatening -- I just need some proper treatment!

Sarah, I hope you get better, I got your PM and thanks although I am bad at responding

I'll join any challenge possible. I expect I'll reach my Xmas goal within the next couple weeks (hopefully) at which point I'll change my xmas goal and right now I'm thinking of making it 280. I want to look awesome when I go visit my family for christmas
