Nope, didn't get a chance to start anything today. The boss started on SBD last week, and is somewhat cranky these days.
My office has been all of 15C this past summer and I literally freeze all day. By mid morning, the tips of my fingers are numb from the cold. A couple of weeks ago, I found a space heater and set up in my office...sure enough, I blew all the circuits, including all the alarm systems.
Well, this morning, I came to work cold and couldn't consider sitting in my office freezing all day, so I got an extension cord, ran it from another room and set the heater up in my office.
Enter (drum roll please) boss. "You can't have this here. It's extremely dangerous having this all over the floor. yadda, yadda, yadda...."
Stand - Peggy. Smile. Put on coat, advise boss to call me at home when the temperature in my working space is reasonable and walk out the door with boss chasing closely behind.
That was the beginning of this week. The end of last wasn't much better, but I got my little dig in (tactfully, of course), so he backed off for the rest of the day. I wasn't planning to be at work this afternoon, anyway, so I'm not staying this morning to work in the cold.
CJ - Good to hear that you are back and still in one piece after the company. You have to admire your daughter's employer - there aren't very many employer's that would carry business disruption insurance to pay employees through disruptions. She is a very lucky lady. Hope everything is going well...how's the eating plan?
Sylvia - I'm glad that you got through the IRS appointment and you're still kicking. I know how stressful those appointments are - especially when you watch tv and see how ruthless they are. But the bottom line is that they just want the money that they think you owe. If you can't pay right away, they are usually willing to make payment arrangements. I think the only time they become really ruthless is when the client is biligerent and uncooperative, or if you have a history of these kinds of problems and not paying taxes. Hopefully everything will work out for the better. BUT, don't let it get to you beyond this weekend - get back on your eating program. You can do it.
Well, gonna dash. Got lots to do here.
Take care.
