Default Running Shoe Tips

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to share something that happened to me recently. I have been running for about 6 months and started to experience some knee pain. Of course the doctor said stop running but it is something that is hleping me lose weight. I went running with a friend who looked at me run and said that he thought the problem were with my shoes. He recommend a store to go get a new pair where you get on a treadmill and they tape your gait. After that they review it with you (just a few seconds of it) and then tell you what is happening and recommend shoes that will reduce or fix the problem.

I have a moderate pronation when I run and bought a new pair of shoes and saw the difference when I was video taped again. I have run this week with the pair and my knee feels the difference.

IT will take a while for my knee not to hurt but I felt it get better.

There are places that look at you run and it is worht getting shoes from there

That is a link to a review I posted earlier on shoes, more walking specific but it tells you how to properly pick out a shoe for you. It seems as if you already got a head start by finding a store that knows what they need to do to help you find the right shoe for YOU.

Good luck and let us know how you do!

Storm runner I am glad to hear that you knee is better. One of the things that I have used too is Devils craw lotion on my knee. I sure seemed to help me too. I know the right help sure can make a big difference.

I have found that I needed to go to the sporting goods store pre educated or they will try and sel me the wrong shoes everytime. If you run in the wrong shoe for your foot you will surely hurt your knee. I know that happened to me once, and nobody takes my running seriously like I do, so I told the doctor to refer me to a sports injury specialist and he was more sympathetic and fitted me with a knee support, and suggested I wear a shoe that stabilized my feet better. It worked and I haven't had a sports injury in awhile(KNOCK ON WOOD). I probably didn't help, but I sure hope your knee is better. Judy

I was wondering- has anyone here tried those Nike "shox"? You know, the ones that go "boing" in the commercials? They have these spring like thingies in the heels. I have always wanted some, but can't find anybody who has tried them... probably because they are so darn expensive. Also, the colors they come in are atrocious. But I was thinking about saving up for em'...
