Karen: I was just reading through last week's induction boot camp posts and noticed you said you'd be having a hysterectomy. I have a friend who had one done last March. She's 29 is is so thankful that after years of having to deal with those issues that she no longer has to.

I don't know how open you are to hearing this, but I'm going to tell you anyway. My friend was really embarrassed to talk to her doctor about it, but once she finally did, they were able to solve the problem through a temporary treatment that got her back on track. Evidently, once the uterus is gone, the intensity of the "O" is lessened quite a bit. This was something her doctor never told her, but she really wished she had. I know some people are embarrassed to talk about it, but I think it's an important part of life and wouldn't want someone else to go through the same thing, and not ask the doc. Ya know? Hope I wasn't out of line.

Again, her recovery went well, although she had to take it slow for a while, but she is SO glad she did it.

Take care and I hope all goes well!

He everybody my name is Jessica and I am 26. I started Atkins on 8/29/2004. I am being very strict about what I eat. I know I have no self control. I will say to myself "just one bite" and the whole cake will be gone.

Today I actually am feeling like it isn't so bad. Most of my problems were thinking I could not eat any carbs, but I realized I can eat some. I have been looking at a lot of sites and this one is great! I can relate to so many people here.

My whole family is being very supportive. I hate thinking about my mother as I try this. I remember as I was growing up seeing her start so many diets and so many excersize videos. I am trying not to let this affect my kids so that is not how they remember me.

My oldest DD is in school (1st) and loving it! She loves packing her own lunch the night before. My other two DS (2yrs) and DD (1yr) go to a wonderful sitter and I never have to worry about them. My DD works away from home so he is gone anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 months at a time. He left 2 weeks ago so I figured it was time for a change since he would not be here to offer his favorite foods to me. He does construction so he is very fit, and spends most of his days eating chips and dip.

Thanks everybody for being a great support for each other it is very helpful.

Hi guys,
I have been on Induction since last Monday and I am proud to say that I have lost 5 lbs!! YIPPEE!! I still have about 25 to go but what a good start compared to other diets I have tried. And by the way, I know that this is a way of life now and I am satisfied with it. The first 4 days were rough but I feel better now. I really do have more energy!! So guys, keep up the good work and as long as you stick to it and exercise, the results will follow!

Hi Jessica and Mariana--welcome!! Come join us in the daily chat!

Well, boot camp, here I come!!! I'm VERY determined that I WILL NOT CHEAT for these 2 weeks. (doesn't help that TOM arrived early! ). But I figure if I managed to do this before..I should be able to again (after all...what's 2 weeks?)

I'm still doing well. Hoping this attitude stays around because that'll be what keeps me on the straight and arrow---and able to avoid temptation!!!
How are you all doing?

Well,
I'm not doing too good, as of today!!! I decided to just go off of induction today, well the low-carb diet on the whole, but just for today because I have three meetings and a farewell lunch for a friend!! but I have been exercising everyday and I am definitely starting induction again tomorrow with ABSOLUTELY NO CHEATING!! Having you guys here to support me has been so great!! Keep up the good work and support and hey, remember WE WILL DO IT!!
Thanks,
Mariana.
