Okay gals (and guy) we went to White Water Bay yesterday and I had a blast. The kids did too of course.
As much as I really, really wanted to go I must say that I was dreading it at first. See the last time I went was about 10 years ago or so and I was just over 250 and I remember one of my favorite rides was the roaring rapids and it had a weight limit sign of 250. I was so afraid all the slides would now have weight limits on them. The only ones that did had limits of 400 pounds on the 2 person tubes. I am proud to say that I rode every slide at least once and a couple of them 2-3x. I have to say that I have a new goal for next year and that is to make it to the top of the bermuda triangle without feeling so winded.
For those of you afraid to put on a swimming suit, much less walk out in public with one, I would really like to encourage you to give it a try. It surprised me the number of "large" people there were at the park. The last time I went, I felt like I was the only "fat chick" in the place and I didn't even feel large much less super plus sized yesterday. In fact I didn't even worry about how I looked the whole day. About the only downside to it was the fact we had two little ones that someone had to be with at all times so we couldn't go on the rides together. We had to go in shifts. We decided that when we go next year we're going to bring along someone who doesn't like to swim much and babysit for us. I'm thinking the MIL would be a great perso nto bring along
Here is a couple of pics of me on one of the smaller slides.
(and no I'm not sunburned, I just couldn't get the color right when I tried to lighten the picture.)
