Default Have You Ever Won Anything?

Have you ever won anything? An award? A contest? An election? How about a raffle or a cake walk?

I haven't been fortunate enough to win much over the years. I did win a raffle at sons cub scout meeting years ago-won a popcorn popper. Have received several awards while voluntering at the hospital in Joplin, MO. I wouldn't necessarily consider it winning. And I have won some money with those scratch off tickets, and lottery tickets. The scratch off was a $100 ticket and the other stuff was just a couple of dollars here and there. Also, won $100 betting on the football at DH work-they thought I was crazy but I was so close in the points, me and some guy had to share the pot but hey it was still quite a bit. That's about all I can think of.

What have you won?

Diddly Squat!

Well, now that I think it over, I did win a contest for best theme in the 5th grade. I had to stand in front of an assembly of the whole school and recite my theme about an interview I did with someone who went to Rome and the sights they saw. I liked to talk too much even back then, lol.

I won a tip board once..... and I usually win one of the games at showers....

Hey, I'm a winner after all! YAY

I won a portable cd player in a raffle when son was in Jr. High. (now called Middle School) I, too, win prizes at parties and showers. Guess I am good at the puzzles/games they use.
Now, the best thing is that I have won several times at video poker and slot machines. Since we winter in Vegas it is a good thing that I can win once in awhile.

Have you ever heard of those cake walks they have sometimes in Grocery stores? They have numbers on the floors through out the stores and at a certain time of the day they call out a name and who ever is standing on the number wins something.

Jhanai & I have been to two different stores in two different towns. One year we were shopping for dinner and they did the announcement.....Jhanai told me to stand on the number I was near.....WE WON....a T-bone steak!

The next year (just this Spring) We were in Safeway and they announced everyone to get ready....once again Jhanai told me to go stand on a number I was near. We won a carrot cake.

Jhanai is my luckcharm!!

My mom bought a raffle ticket and put my name on it and won a HUGE basket of goodies...it was valentine's day and I got this call,,,thinking it was a crank call I almost hung up cause my mom forgot to mention she bought me a ticket...lol
I still have the basket and for the longest time I used it as a laundry basket,,,it holds 4 loads!
there was candles, champagne, glasses, lotions, perfumes massage stuff...food,,,crackers, oysters...see the theme here? lol

Brandon has won so many things over the years...tv, play station,,,and such.
Just recently Monte won a 19 inch tv from this garage he takes his big truck to...considering he usually spends min 500 each time I would say he paid for the tv the first year...lol
and thats about it.

ok here are the things that i can remember......
I won a stuffed bunny in an easter egg hunt when I was like 7, I got the golden egg.
I won a wierd Al who's bad tape when in middle school, at the time I was soooo excited. LOL kids are wierd. hee hee
I won a Razor scooter at one of Sony's christmas parties, ended up selling it at a garage sale , I am just getting too old for kids stufflike that.
I won 112 dollars at a casino on the penny machines with a dollar bet and I won 20 dollars with a dollar bet on the 2 cent machines at another casino.
I have also won a couple of dollars and a free ticket on the oregon megabucks and powerball lottery and 20 dollars on a bingo scratch-off.
So far though, nothing I want like money to pay off my debt, or live while going to school or a million for buying a house and going crafts for the rest of my life. However I have been told by mail, that the price patrol will definetely be coming to my house on August 31st after The nightly news. So I will wave to all of you jaded ladies when they knock on my door.

I completely forgot about the Sony Christmas Party...I won a $70 gift certicate to a restaurant called Willy's.....James & I didn't think the food was that great....too spendy for very little and very little taste. (We didn't order much at all and we had to add to that $70!!)

No wonder I have a weight problem...I prefer fatty foods in huge portions!

Hey marti, didn't you forget the back pack or outback gift certificate you won at the Sony picnic?? I can't remeber which one you got, but I remember we both had to walk up there to the front of everyone cause we both won that day. I had completely forget about the picnic win too.heee hee. Sony was good for doling out the gifts and prizes and free stuff. Got to love getting a free cd every month, even though some were not so good, but they were free. " MEMORIES... Like the corners of my mind, misty water colored memories.....Of the place we worked. :-)
