New to the Board :-)
I am really excited to find this board. i haven't started South Beach just yet, but Thursday is the intended start day. I think that I am going to have a little "carb fest" tomorrow and then start Thursday. I am really glad that I have found this board. I have been lurking for a bit but realized I will get more info from posting then just lurking, kwim?
Anyway, I do have a question as to whether or not Crystal Light is "legal" during Phase 1, if anyone knows that would be great! TIA!!
Mindy

Welcome to The Beach. Remember to count Crystal Light as part of your allowed 75 calories of "sweets".

Welcome!
I dont think we have crystal light in the UK, although it sounds wonderful. I drink loads of herbal teas. And actually I drink a lot of coffee too, but i dont think it does me any good at all.

Clovey, you joker!
Welcome, Mindy!
I actually had two weeks of eating anything and everything I ever craved, and though I suppose it added a couple pounds I had to lose, it has really helped with my cravings. Not only did it eventually make me feel sick, I also know that I just had everything only a couple months ago, so I don't really crave it. Enjoy tomorrow, Mindy! Did you go shopping yet? You'll want to do that before you start...it will really help get things on the right foot.
Have you read the book? Great thing to read while eating all those carbs!

Welcome! I do Crystal Light and have no problem. I never actually counted it as a "sweet," just drank it as I wanted with no problem.

THX for the welcome Ladies I am really excited about SBD. I actually waited a little and started yesterday. I have read the book and as a healthcare worker it just sounded so logical to me. I am trying to shed a little weight from getting hitched and tons of baby weight! Of course, I have been married four years and my ds is almost a year and a half, so I think its time to just lose my less-than-better half (namely forty pounds of ugly fat) :-)!

Hi Mindy,
I started yesterday as well so we can be buddies!! I will say I am going to have to figure out how to cut the grocery budget though!! I think I got carried away on my first shop for the diet!! I spent a little over $100 yesterday!!! Yikes!
I did get lost of chicken breast and lean ground beef and turkey sausage that will last for a couple of weeks in the old freezer though, so I guess it isn't so bad a shop after all.
The veggies are awesome. I ate a salad with olive oil and vinegar last night. I was amazed how delicious it was. I have been puting ranch dressing on my salads for so long and covering up the taste of the salad that I forgot how good those veggies taste!
Well, glad you found this site and welcome to the beach!!

Hi Mindy---
Welcome to the Beach. These Chicks are wonderful for encouraging, giving tips and kicking a butt now and then if it needs it.
Much success to you and looking forward to getting to know you.
