Good morning everyone.
It seems like everyone had a good weekend. I fell prey to two cadbury eggs, and they were so good. We were pretty busy this weekend. MIL called to say she was in Joplin on saturday, so we headed there in the cold an rain. We went to KFC for lunch, and I did really well. Then we went to wal mart and she bought the boys each a book. Then we went to the flea market, and looked around. MIL is one of these people who look at every little thing in every booth. I browse, and it takes her 3 hours to look, while it takes me and dh about 30 minutes. On sunday, my grandma, two of my aunts and my uncle came out to see my moms new house, so I took the boys out there to see them. When I got home that night, I had just a small nagging headache, and by yesterday morning, it was a full fledged been hit in the head with a sledge hammer kind of headache. I just stayed off the computer, because I figured that would just aggrevate it. I did get in a work out yesterday, and this morning I jogged for 30 minutes. I can't wait for the warm up this week. Its been to cold to take the boys out side for longer than a half hour.
For all of you who have lost weight
Spryng, sorry you had such a crummy day. I know exactly how you feel on the WIC thing. I have been on it for four years, and they always take so long to recertify and all that. I finally just stopped. RJ was the only one left, and he was only getting milk. That sucks about your thigh trainer. Your week will get better. That's all I can remember from the last thread. Hope every one has a great day.

Well, after the way today started out, I never thought I would get here. I overslept, and so had to do my workout just now (but I feel great for it!). I just love that WW video...and the 4 AP's too.

Spryng- just from skimming the posts sounds like you had trouble with that thigh machine. I have bought lots of stuff from QVC and they are usually wonderful about returns- especially if the merchandise was not perfect. Good luck. BTW- how did the beef tips turn out????? The recipe sounds interesting and I will be at the store tomorrow and can get the ingredients. Oh, and BTW- tomatoes do very well in containers as long as the container drains well and they are not allowed to dry out...We have some on the deck every year (in case I am too lazy to walk to the garden).

Ricci- thanks for starting a new thread. Did you get rid of that headache, I hope???
Funny, We went to a flea market this weekend also!!!!! Have not been to on in a long time, it was sort of fun. Don't sweat the 2 cadbury eggs- some stuff you just have to get out of your system- go for damage control and have no more.......you are doing great.

Geri- what are you putting in your garden?????? Gee at least you got the weather to do so in - here it is supposed to rain most of the week. Have fun playing in the dirt!

Melinda- how is SB going (this is day 2?). Glad the PMS weight is gone- makes you feel so yucky. That first TOM post partum can be really rough....better days are coming!

Jesse- glad you are finding it easy to stay within points- I love WW for that reason.

Crystal, Cindi, Michele- anyone I missed. Sorry to cut this short, but I have to make a few phone calls B4 I go to Dd's school to help. Drink that water and have a great day!!!!

Just a quick post to say I'm having a potato-vegetable pancake for lunch and it is SOOOO good. I'm amazed, I had alittle ketchup to go with it, but it's good and only about 5 pts.

Hello again!
Wow, we seem to be starting a new thread every couple of days!! Gab Gab Gab, lol.

Crystal, what is a potato pancake?? Please post recipe so I can check it out. Is it pretty good sized for 5 pts? I had a sandwich (3 pts) and fat free pringles (1 pt) it was good, then I had a snickers kudos bar for a snack (2 pts)
Ginny, I'm glad you overslept!! You deserve it! Of course I'm sure your definition of sleeping in is much different than mine, if I ever get to sleep in it's until 10-11 am. That rarely happens anymore. But that is ok, I kinda like to start my day at 7. And great job for getting in that video! I don't think you ever posted what your WI was for last week... are you going this wednesday? I hope so. I know you feel like you've been on WW forever but you WILL get to your goal!! I know you will. The beef tips came out pretty well, like I mentioned before the onion soup mix makes them very onion-y but I like that taste. I added a can of portobello mushrooms to it too. Very filling over brown rice. And thanks for the info on tomatoes! I may have to get mine going soon. When do they start blooming??
Ricci, I didn't know there was a flea market in joplin. Is it on rangeline? Anything good there? I find year round flea markets carry alot of junk, and I LOVE open air ones. When I lived in california we went every sunday and it was like going to the circus. So many beautiful things and people. I miss that. Did you buy anything? I'm glad you know about the WIC thing. They are horrible about keeping you there forever and recertifying is a nightmare. I'm glad only Tanner is on it now and as soon as he turns one I'll take him off too.
Well my day is going fine. I feel lazy though. I have so much to do and haven't done one thing yet. Not one. After I got off the computer earlier I called my BF to see how she and her new baby is doing. They are great. We chatted for over an hour. Remember me telling you how thin she was pre-pregnancy? 5'7" and 95 lbs on a good day. She was 115 lbs come the birth, and now only a week after giving birth she has a flat stomach again and is back into her size 2 jeans. Sickening, lol. But I'm happy for her. I wanted to visit her this weekend but looks like I will have to wait until next friday or saturday. I did get some pictures of the baby via email, she is very tiny and cute. So this saturday will be garage saling, and a fishing/bbq at the park which I am very excited about. But anway... my thoughts trailed off. Oh yeah, so after I got off the phone with her I changed Tanner and gave him a bottle then Dh called by the time I got off the phone with him Tanner was alseep on me so I couldn't get up. Then my soaps came on..... blah blah blah... so needless to say I haven't got anything done around here. But I wrote out a list and I WILL work hard on this house after nap time, before I start dinner. And I still have to get in a workout today sometime.
Ok... so I guess I'll get off here now. Hope everyone is having a great day thus far!!

Smile Hey everyone!

Wow, it does not pay to take a day off from this board. Its like letting dishes pile up.
Crystal- Me, too. I'm curious about the potato pancakes.

Spryng-I hope things are better. My sis has WIC and the red tape is awful. Tell your bf I hate her. I have had 3 and I always gained tons. Plus my stomach was so stretched. I have gestatonal diabetes and I was on insulin with my third, but with my second boy I was on such a strict diet that I was 12 lbs less when I had him than when I got pregnant! My mom said I looked like a broomstick with a beach ball tied to me. But I never had a flat stomach. My stomach had the appearance of a melted candle.

Ricci-sorry about the headache. I can so sympathize. Thats why I'm behind on my posts. I have had one, too.

Well, this is my second official day on WW. I love it. I don't have to plan my meals or spend all my grocery money shopping for just me. i can just eat a bowl of wheat chex if I'm feeling lazy. In case you noticed, I HATE to cook.
Spryng , I see what you mean about the calories and points not matching. I can't help it, I still count my calories but one day I had more points but less calories. But I had more fiber that day. How much protein do ya'll usually average? I noticed protein even chicken breast is high in points. And I feel like I need lots of protein. If I had my choice, I could live off of low fat carbs like potatos, rice and bread, but I still have that Atkins mindset. I'm not limiting my carbs, just wondering how I can get enough protein.

Have ya'll noticed this weather? I live in the south, so our lows for the last few weeks have been 70's or 80's. My husband got up this morning and rushed off to work in shorts and had to come home and change into pants. I hope it doesn't make any of us sick. It is in the 30's. I noticed some of ya'll are in the north. How cold is it?

Well, my 10 yr old has my 2 yr old at the playground and I have to go check on them.
I'll catch the rest of ya'll tonight.

Question I needed to post

I've been getting tempted today. Not really tempted, just not feeling as strong today. I'll post that potato pancake recipe later on moms losing weight. It called for parsnips, but I don't know what they are so obviously I didn't use them. It calls to make one big one and cut it into 4 wedges at 2 pts. each. It was only for me, so I cut the recipe in 1/2 and made one big one for me. It's called a pancake just because of how you cook it. My kids scrunched up their nose. They think butter and syrup when you say pancake.

Spryng - you're kids are tiny. Ally is almost 3 and she's tiny, weighing in at 28 lbs. She can still wear 18 months up to 2T. My 16 month old son, he weighs in at 32 lbs. He's my beast.

Mary- glad you're enjoying WW. I don't know how you're doing it w/o cooking much. I find I have to plan and cook, which I like to.

I'm beginning to think WW is not for me. I do better when I count calories. If something doesn't have a points value, I'm having to figure it out, but EVERYTHING has calories right on it. I think I can eat more when I count calories. I usually intake anything from 1200 to 1800. I find it sort of hard to make it past 1500. On my points I'm hitting my goal at dinner and I like a few extra for one little snack before bedtime. I'll give it a bit longer, but I think I'll slowly go back to counting calories. It's easy. Almost ALL my recipe books have nutritional info and calories is right there on them, but most of them don't have fiber so I can't hardly figure out the points value. I have learned to keep a journal and I've been doing that everyday. I remember the first time I lost weight counting calories, I would have a full breakfast, lunch and dinner and even make a low cal dessert and be able to have some. I love to bake and love to have a dessert for my family after dinner or for snack before bedtime. I feel like my options are much bigger counting calories than they are counting points. Okay, here I am trying to prove my case to y'all when I know what y'all will say..."Whatever works best for you." Everyone's different I know. I'll let y'all know how and when I switch over.
Listen I just needed to chat before I had to start dinner. See my dinner is going to be 8 points which is quite a bit but calorie wise it's only 371. Kind of low for a dinner. Okay okay, I'm done, I'll be back later. Have a great dinner time everyone.

It's me again!!

Crystal, I always thought it was harder to count calories than to count pts. Plus everything has calories so you have to count veggies and all that too and with pts those are free! But you have to do what is best for you and we will support you one way or another. BTW, what did you make for dinner that was 8 pts? My dinner was 11 pts total. 4 oz pork chop, 3/4 cup rice a roni, green beans, and two slices of buttered bread. It all hit the spot. But I like to save 10-14 pts for dinner each day so I can have a big meal.
Mary, my bf had gestational diabetes too. But she did great on regulating it with diet (that's probably why she didn't gain much, she was really strict with herself) but that is what she looked like too, a broomstick with a basketball under her shirt it was all belly. And your melted candle analogy was right on! That is what my stomach looks like!! I never thought of it that way, but that is perfect. Oh well... badges of motherhood right??? And God's way of keeping us with only our husband because we sure wouldn't want anyone else to see that!! lol. I don't know how much protein I average or fiber. I don't really keep tabs. But I do try to have protein at dinner everynight and maybe a little at lunch. When I do soft taco night I get tons of protein and fiber. I use those low carb tortillas which have tons of fiber, boca crumbles which are loaded with fiber and protein, the vegetables and ff refried beans which have 7-8 grams of fiber per half cup, and protein. I think that is a very healthy meal. I live in kansas and it's 60 degrees today and going to be 70 tomorrow and then 80 by friday!!!! I'm so glad for warmer weather. I hope all the cold stuff is gone until fall now (but I know it's not)

Well, guess I need to get some more stuff done. Dishes are done and that is about it. Gotta go tan at 6 pm so gotta get off here. TTYL!

Back again!!!!!!

Spryng- hope you got your tanning session in...sound relaxing. Aw, don't sweat it if you did not get a lot done today- we all have days like that! BTW- I did not get to WW last week- the one school I pick up from was on a half day schedule (the other was closed) but that took attending WW out of the picture. Kind of hard to be in 2 places at one time. I am going tomorrow, but am not too optimistic about the WI- I have eaten some candy and also TOM is due any hour.....bloat city.

Crystal- I used to make a potato veggie pancake (from the Fit for life book I think) and loved it . So healthy!!!!!!! Did you make yours or buy it?
Opps, just noticed you made it, can't wait to see the recipe.

Mary- WW is great- even if you do not cook all that much. Their dinners (frozen) are pretty good- but a bit pricey. Weather????Hmmmmmm- it is cold and chilly here, and I really wanted to start up the wood burner today. No time to do it tomorrow- but Thursday will be just a cold.
Guess I have babbled enough for one day. I am going to WW tomorrow.....and then shopping. Hopefully I can get back here to post. Have a great evening!

Hi ladies!!

Hope everyones day was good!! I am still doing great OP and still haven't cheated yayyyy!!! I was at the store today and I found a 0 net carb chocolate bar it was 2 bucks but oh who cares man its chocolate So for breakfast I made breakfast burritos with scrambled eggs, cheese, and sausage on low carb tortillas so I used 8 carbs there then for lunch I just had a 2 slices of cheese and a glass of Iced tea and for dinner I'm making chicking with garlic herb spice on it and cucumber chips as a side and Jello with Low Carb whipped cream (whipping cream and splenda), So this whole atkins thing isnt too bad once you get the hang of it and find out that there are substitutes for some of your favorite foods out there, unfortunately I haven't found a Low Carb alternative for a nice baked potato lol.

We had to take DD to the doctor today with a nasty case of Pink eye, the poor thing woke up and her eye was glued shut, and then I was looking closer and it was all filmed over and really red so I had hubby come home from work so we could take her to urgent care, Hopefully the baby doesn't get it. The doctor also mentioned maybe we should have a specialist look at her tonsils as they are quite large, If she needs them out its gonna be rough for a bit I'm sure its difficult to care for a toddler who has any kind of surgery done. Not looking forward to it lol.

We have decided that this Saturday is Potty training day, Dr Phil says you can do it in one day so we're gonna try his potty training advice (which is posted on his website) So that means quite a few "potty parties" Please wish us luck lol.

Crystal - You should see my 2 yo she weighs in at 31 lbs and is tall Im not sure of her height but she is taller than my 3 yo nephew, shes gonna be tall and gangly and at her 2 year check up she was 97% for her head, 80% for her height, and 63% for her weight this girl has a huge noggin lol, but its a pretty one.

Mary - Glad to hear you are enjoying WW Im sure you'll do great on it!! Our weather here has been really nice yesterday the high was 74 degrees its just beautiful we've already turned off the heat and had the AC on!!

Ricci - Sorry to hear of your brainbuster headache Hopefully you're feeling better!!

Well I better go finish prepping dinner!! I'll come post after American Idol!
Take Care!!

Ricci -WOW, jogging! How long have you been a jog? I have tried so many times and I always lose interest. Good for you.

Ginny - SB Day 2 is going all right. Pretty good on the program, but I am so tired. I know someone said that was a side effect.

Michelle - Try mashed califlower, low fat cream and low fat butter. Not as good as the real stuff but I good substitute. Ruby Tuesday has it on there menu and it is on the SB.

Spryng - Sorry to cut you short. JW did not take a nap this afternoon. I hope this is not a trend.

Dinner was tilapia, salad, aspargus. Not too satifying but I am not trying to think about food right now. Just downing the water. Walked 45 min with JW.
I am working tomorrow, but will try to check in tomorrow.

Thumbs up Good Evening!

Hey all
I hope everyone is having a good evening.

[COLOR=DarkRed]Crystal-I find a lot I can eat that doesn't require cooking. And I mean "real" cooking. I don't mind frying a egg or heating water. But I eat a lot of whole foods, like apples, potatos, cereal & milk. For lunch I had a tuna fish sandwich and for supper I had a sweet potato. I mostly like to eat here and there all day instead of eating a big meal. I know its easier said than done, but I find if I ignore the temptation sometimes it will go away, but if I still want that something several hours later or the next day then I figure I might as well get it over with. Kind of like impulse buying I guess. As far as the diet goes, whatever works. I'm with Spryng, WW does seem convenient, but if I just started. Someone said, "all diets work, you just have to find the one you can stick with".

Spryng-if your friend stuck to the recommended diet, then thats why she did so well. Theres nothing like having another human beings welfare in your hands to make you stick to the diet. Its really strict.

Ginny-I definitely couldn't afford the dinners. i was doing a lot of Lean Cuisine for awhile and it about broke me.

Michelle- I'm happy for you. I can definitely vouch for the fact that the weight will fall off. Sorry about the pink eye and good luck on the potty training.

My 2yo is 36 lbs and almost 42 inches tall. My 10yo old is 5ft tall and 140lbs. He was 11lbs4oz at birth. He didn't start talking good till he was 3 and since he looked about 5, people would look at him like he was ******ed. Its an ongoing joke in our house. A waitress asked us twice the other day if we were sure he was only 10. The adult price started at 12 and I guess she thought we wre lying. I guess we're gonna have to get him an ID printed. I don't know where they get it. I'm 5ft and dh is 5'8".

We all got ready to leave for church and while i was getting ready, dh got on the gamecube, so that idea went out the window. I really didn't want to go anyway. Too tired. Dieting is hard work! Oh well.

I have stuck to the plan today. Didn't go to the gym, but .......

Hi Ladies,

It sounds like everyone is having a great day! I will post and address everyone in the morning! I have had a full day!

I do have a problem though. ....

My electronic scale is somehow on KG now instead of pounds!!!! So I have no idea how much I weigh! AHHHHHHH!!!!

I am upset though......

Andrew nursed yesterday at 6:30 am and not again until 4:30 pm and he did nurse last night at 9:00 on one side..... Sigh ********

And then today he nursed at 10:30am (i held him off from his morning feeding) and guess what!

He hasn't nursed since then!!!!!!

I am kindof sad. He is growing up and don't need his mama anymore.....

I hope everyone continues to have a wonderful night!

Oh and Geri!
NO LATE NIGHT SNACKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello again,

No Idol tonight...I heard it's on tomorrow so I think part 2 will be Thursday? Don't know for sure.

Melinda, glad you're doing good on day 2. Your dinner actually sounds pretty good to me! We had marinated chicken breast, salad, peas and a microwave baked potato (does anyone know how to cook them in the micro without them getting hard on the bottom?? Should I be turning it half way through?? I love them in the oven, but too much work!)

Michele, I'll have to check out the potty training advice. Ds is almost 3 and shows no interest. His ped says not to worry about it. Hmmm. I'm tired of buying diapers I hope Dd is better and the baby doesn't get the pink eye. Will used to get it all the time...

Spryng and Crystal...Will's going to be 3 in a few weeks and he's over 40 lbs....very solid young man! Tony's not even 11 months and he's in the neighborhood of 25 lbs or so. They're both tall too. Hopefully I can keep them active as they grow up so they don't take after their parents .

Ginny, supposed to warm up here starting tomorrow. Today was supposed to be near 50 but I think it only hit 46 and the wind was blowing off of Lake Michigan making it very chilly. Will was out most of the afternoon with the neighbor boy and his little cheeks were so red! He didn't mind
I had Tony out for a while but I didn't want to stay out more than an hour. Hope it warms up by you soon.

Well, I'm off to watch NYPD Blue. At 8 pm I decided to go take the bike out for a spin...it's 40 degrees out... ...but it was really refreshing! I don't know how far I rode 'cause the odometer decided not to work after I futzed with it for like 3 minutes trying to remember how to clear out the distance! I'll have to have Dh check that out. Rode for about 30 minutes...also did the 3 mile walk this morning .

I hope everyone has a great night! I'm going to stay out of the kitchen for the remainder of the night!! Talk to you tomorrow!
