Talking Body for Life and Eating for Life

Has anyone tried Body for Life and Eating for Life plans? I am not too sure what it is all about but I would like to give it a try so while I am waiting for the books to arrive at my local library, I was wondering if anyone could give me basic info on either plan.
My questions

1) Do you need to exercise everyday and will the book tell you which kind of exercises to do or do I need to buy a seperate video for that?

2) Do I need a gym or can I do it from home?

3) Is it extremely intense exercise? Like body building and such or can a beginner, out of shape person do it as well.

4) As for the eating, I know I have to eat 6 times a day but do you have to drink the shakes and eat the bars? I think that would add up cost wise.

I went to the website and saw some of the testimonials and they are quite amazing. At the end of 12 weeks, if I looked like some of them, I would be overjoyed. I am sure those results are not the norm.

Thanks in advance everyone for answering my questions! Look forward to hearing from you.

There are several very knowledgable and experienced BFL/EFL challengers in the Ladies Who Lift Forum. There may be some answers to your questions already there.

I second Diphthong - Go to the LWL forum. There is also an Eating For Life thread going if you want to explore that. You'll get your most experienced lifting answers from the LWL.

To answer some of your questions - There is no video. ( I love videos, so that is a disappointment for me) You can do the exercises at home, from your book. There are a few more advanced ones that you might need a gym for, but it looks to me like they can all be done with inexpensive dumb/barbells and a weight bench. Also, you can do it as a beginner. You just start with baby weights, like me!

Hey there...if you go to the LWL forum (which had its genesis as a BFL forum, incidentally) you'll find a sticky thread called "Basic Bodybuilding Information" which includes a "Basic BFL Info" thingy.

Quick answers to your questions: 1) Yes, and yes the book has instructions, no video; 2) either gym or home, whatever works for ya; 3) yes, but it's YOUR intensity level; 4) Shakes, bars and supps are optional - real food always works best.
