Post Did ya see?

Did you read the "dieters news" on 3fatchicks main page? The one that says low carbers don't eat low carb? I was a bit surprised by this study, and now I have all sorts of questions. If I hadn't already seen results on South Beach, I think this might deter me from it. My question is along the lines of the chicken and the egg.... i.e. Which came first? Is it the diet/lifestyle that is making people bigger, or are people with the most to loose the ones most likely to follow the diet. Maybe low carb attracts people that are most overweight, and people with just a little to loose are more likely to use other diets. I just don't know.

Any thoughts?

Surprising results of the study:
*Among those adults really reducing carb intake, forty-percent tell NPD they exercise at least three times a week. This same group is almost 30-percent more likely to be obese.
*People who are eating lower carbs report health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol at above average rates.
*Adults at the other end of the spectrum, who regularly eat a high-carb diet, are most likely to be an optimal weight or underweight.

As a psychologist I conclude that this study is full of holes. Some interesting information but I agree with you Kayzan, they have just identified that big people are cutting out carbs and exercising more to lose weight (probably because they have health problems). Smaller people are eating lots of carbs and are yet to get there. Heck I was a small person that ate lots of carbs, then I grew into a big person. Now I am on SB Diet. Doesn't take much to figure it out.
