We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support, inspiration, and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us!

Time for me to get mine back too... I have spent the last few months trying IF and now Ketogenic... I know Dr. Fung is a proponent of both... I did keto during November after speaking with my cousin who had lost 40 pounds in 3 months doing it... I was not able to sustain it during the holidays thus gained back the 12 pounds I had lost during November... I realized during that time that I was not having the aches and pains I was normally so I am back at it... This is a new beginning for me... I am going to work at coming here daily as well because I think it will most definitely help me!!!

Stay the course and those 12 pounds will be gone in a flash.
I know that coming here daily helps me stay on track. (Why oh why do I stray?) It does feel good to be back.

Happy New Year to you as well!!! It does feel good to be back. I feel stronger than I have in a long time. Spent a couple of hours listening to Dr. Fung today. I will definitely have to incorporate the IF this time as I feel stronger. I think before when you first told me about Dr. Fung I just had a hard time with "fasting" and limiting my carbs at the same time. Now that I know keto is not that bad I think I can do both. Just have to get back into keto strong before I try IF.

Today I went through my closet to remind myself of all the nice clothes I wore last summer.
I want to wear them again this summer and not have to squish into them.

That is great motivation. I am right there with you. I spent time today listening to Dr. Fung. The fasting will be hard for me, I think but I will get there. I actually like listening to him more than reading his book. It seems very technical to me. Maybe I didn't get far enough into the book.

Checking in today. Feeling good about this and been doing well. Tomorrow lunch might be a challenge as my kids are coming in and we are supposed to go out. I am ready to see them just don't want to go crazy. My son is coming in and will go hunting so that will help my keto life because I LOVE venison. Just hope he gets one.

Hi everyone! Short summary of me...I started my weight loss journey Sept 2016 at 343. I lost weight and even got down to 279. Then...nothing. Months and months of staying at 280-285 and I gave up around the holidays. I weighed my self today and I'm 293. Half a year staying a 280 and in just 3 months I'm basically back at 300. I had my mini pity party but now I'm here to start over. Its a new year and this year I can lose at least another 50+

Just checking in... didn't do that well today but am done for the day. Still fighting.

I did OK for my first day back on track. I had forgotten how hard it was to stay under calorie count. Plus all the cutting of veggies..boring.

Hello All!!! Hope everyone has had a great day!!!

Ruby - PJ is great or Pam... It is hard the first few days back. One of these days I will get to the point where I don't stray LOL... well maybe!

Ubee - I am doing great!!! You know progress is all you can ask for... I learned a long time ago that I was not going to achieve perfection so I truly work on doing a little better each day... I have been doing pretty good especially when I go into a store... no snacks or only keto snacks... that is great progress for me!
